3 Background The data center market in China is expending very quickly. The development of cloud computing accelerates the process. From 008 to 013, the market size of Internet data center increased almost 5.5 times with 30% annual growth rate. 4 Background There are a large number of data centers in China and many of them are not energy efficient. There data centers can be better. By the end of 011, there are over 400,000 data centers in China. The total power consumption is around 70 billion kwh in 011 alone.
