Provided in this custom designed solution will be power protection, battery backup, metered power distribution, temperature sensing racks, and centralized software to manage all data center activity for current utilization and effectively plan system growth. The all-inclusive solution will support on-demand server and network growth without paying for unused capacity. The estimated cost for the data center is $115,000. Alternatives: 1) Approve funding for the purchase of Data Center Equipment in an amount not to exceed $115,000, with funding to be provided by the SPLOST 5 Pate Building Project. 2) Delay the start of the project to a later date. 3) Do nothing. Recommendation: Staff recommends alternative number 1. Funding Source: SPLOST 5 Pate Building Project. Recommended Motion for the Finance Committee: I move to recommend that the Board of Commissioners approve funding for the purchase of Data Center Equipment in an amount not to exceed $115,000, with funding to be provided by the SPLOST 5 Pate Building Project.
