Design the Future by Setting Industry Standards Activities and Participation Opportunities in the Plattform Industrie 4.0 Breakthrough Undertakings CHRISTOPH LEGAT SOFTWARE PROFESSIONAL INDUSTRY
ASSYSTEM SMART ENGINEERING FOR A DIGITIZED INDUSTRY Assystem Germany: Smart Engineering for a Digitized Industry OUR MISSION Your Partner for Digitalization From the idea to the serial production We develop systems and software for leading OEMs and TIER1s in Automotive, Aerospace, Industry and Transportation As outsourcing-partner we effectively implement projects with full responsibility As innovation-partner we are pushing innovations We are your reliable partner worldwide and very close to you Aerospace Automotive Global 700m (revenue 2017) > employees in 15 countries Köln Stade Hamburg Bremen Frankfurt a.m. Wolfsburg Stuttgart Ingolstadt Donauwörth München Berlin Nürnberg Regensburg Industry Transportation Germany 100m (revenue 2017) > employees in 13 locations
The Digital Transformation Only works in cooperation Close alliance of: Sciences Economy Politics Associations Unions The Plattform Industrie 4.0 central hub of a digital ecosystem for the digitalisation of industry 5
The Plattform Industrie 4.0 Bundles Know-How Technical expertise Support of SMEs International activities 6
The Plattform Industrie 4.0 Processes it in fitting formats Technical publications and discourse SME guidance International exchange for sciences, economy, politics for multipliers and companies for and with initiatives abroad 7
Triad of LNI, SCI and Plattform Shaping the digital transformation together Expert community from industry and academia Input Output Digital Transformation 9
The Working Groups Six thematic priorities Reference architectures, standards and norms Chair: Kai Garrels, ABB STOTZ-KONTAKT GmbH Technology and Application Scenarios Chair: Johannes Kalhoff, Phoenix Contact Security of networked systems Chair: Michael Jochem, Robert Bosch GmbH Legal Framework Chair: Dr. Hans-Jürgen Schlinkert, ThyssenKrupp Work, education and training Chair: n.n. Digital business models for Industrie 4.0 Chair: Prof. Dr. Svenja Falk, accenture 10
Working Group Reference Architectures, Standards and Norms Focus Industrie 4.0 needs a lingua franca, to guarantee interoperability between various digital ecosystems. Standardization thus plays an important role and should be prioritized. RAMI 4.0 defines an important reference point when developing new standards. By setting up use cases in test beds interoperability is promoted and the aggregated results support further standardization processes. Standardization is a key aspect for all international cooperation of the Plattform Industrie
Breakthrough Undertakings Five things we do Initiate and moderate breakthrough undertakings Validate practical applicability of standards in Industrie 4.0 use cases Identify standardization gaps towards practical implementations of Industrie 4.0 use cases Force and support the development of running code Force knowledge exchange between research projects and Platform Industrie 4.0 The Breakthrough Undertakings are initiator and moderator of and catalyst for validating standards and identifying standardization gaps by means of practical applications.
EXAMPLE 1: AGILE STANDARDIZATION
DIN SPEC Christoph Legat (Assystem Germany, Workshopleitung), Filiz Elmas (DIN - Digitale Technologien)
DIN SPEC Reference Model for Industrial Cloud Federation Initial Situation: Operators of machines and plants are forced to provide machine access and deliver machine data to a various external companies in order to get optimal operation. Thereby, cloud technologies will be applied more and more frequently. Industrial Cloud Federation: Communication from field level components into the cloud systems of plant operators and vice versa. Additionally, communication between and across companies and different cloud systems. 2018, DIN e. V. 17
DIN SPEC Reference Model for Industrial Cloud Federation Initiator: Partner, z.b. 2018, DIN e. V. 18
DIN SPEC Reference Model for Industrial Cloud Federation Quelle: Christoph Legat, Erich Barnstedt 2018, DIN e. V. 19
DIN SPEC Reference Model for Industrial Cloud Federation Agile Standardization with DIN SPEC Objective of the DIN SPEC is to ensure interoperability and facilitate communication between machines and cloud systems as well as across cloud systems towards multi-cloud applications in Industrie 4.0 The standard is based on industrial use cases of project partners which will be implemented as test cases exemplarily for ensuring technical applicability and force to add and implementation details and experience into the standard. Starting point is the OPC UA standard which will be critically impugned the applicability of OPC UA will be evaluated and gaps identified and closed. Strong exchange with other Plattform Industrie 4.0 breakthrough undertakings, especially the Cloud2Cloud testbed Join the project every partner is welcome. Call for participation ends mid of may. 2018, DIN e. V. 20
EXAMPLE 2: INDUSTRIAL TESTBED
LNI 4.0 Testbed Cloud to Cloud hosted by BMWi Kompetenzzentrum 4.0 Augsburg Labs Network Industrie 4.0 e.v. and BMWi Competence Center 4.0 Augsburg 2018 unrestricted
Partners (18, 3 SME) 23
Overall Testbed Goal Industrial testbed based on several SME usecases Continuous plug-festival Interoperability validation of each company in protected environment on neutral ground (BMWi Competence Center 4.0 Augsburg) Testbed creates input and validation for standardization (SCI4.0) 24
Cloud to Cloud via OPC UA Validation: messaging protocol and Use Cases Interoperability: communication / solution patterns IT Security Cloud to Cloud and Edge to Cloud Apps Cloud Edge Things (Input from other LNI 4.0 testbeds) Apps, HMI Cloud to Cloud, MES, SCADA Messaging Protocol 25
Conclusion Close cooperaption with OPC Foundation Industrial testbed and applied, agile standardization driven by Industrie 4.0 usecases let your use case be part of upcoming standards Each company can access breakthrough undertakings without obstacles (member fees, ) Direct access to standardization and associations (VDMA, ZVEI, BITKOM, ) which take care internationally (IEEE, ) Synergy effects with other Breakthrough Undertakings, e.g. LNI4.0 usecases Industrie 4.0 is a collaborative task Drive industry into the next level be part of it.
