Electrical systems require improvements per the attached Electrical Systems Report dated December 16, Recommended improvements are currently being addressed by the facility. See attached letter from Facilities Management Division dated December 13, 2012 for status of the work. 2. Demand power is based on annual peak load from Florida Power & Light historical data. 3. Existing load is based on record drawings for recent improvements, which include Florida Power & Light historical data % based on critical load percentages of overall service. 5. Plans for two redundant communication sources have not been implemented at this time. 6. Non-verified outside engineer s letter dated November 10, 2011 by Saad Elia El-Hage Consulting Engineers, Inc., stating 150 mph (Category 4) for the main building frame, is included for reference under the Pembroke Pines Fire Station 101 evaluation section. 7. Certifications relate to operational aspects of the facility only and have no bearing on the physical ability of the building to function. 8. Zone AE indicates that base flood elevations have been determined. 9. Zone AH indicates flood depths of 1 to 3 feet (usually areas of ponding); base flood elevations have been determined. 10. Additional staff will create a parking issue. 11. Additional staff for afternoon shift may cause a parking issue. 12. Facility is looking into a shared parking agreement with the adjacent church property. 13. Saffir/Simpson Hurricane Rating is based on current 2010 Florida Building Code and ASCE 7. Refer to attached ASCE 7-10 Table C for relationship between the Saffir/Simpson hurricane scale and the gust wind speed over land. All 911 facilities fall within the 144 to 171 mph gust wind speed over land as is indicated in the Table for a Category 4 Hurricane. Only the Hollywood Facility was designed to cover the top level wind speed of a Category 4 Hurricane, based on the drawings. 14. Future wind speed strength of the facility will increase after the exterior windows, doors and roof membrane are replaced with new as indicated in the attached Scope of Work letter for hurricane hardening. However, this will need to be confirmed upon completion of the work. 15. Demand power is based on design drawing load calculation. 16. Temporary overflow parking can be provided in open areas along perimeter driveways, if necessary. 17. If the ± 4,519 s.f. MIS Department is relocated off-site in the future, approximately (50) additional 911 stations could be available, depending on the layout and design. If the ± 1,413 s.f. EOC is relocated off-site in the future, approximately (18) additional 911 stations could be available, depending on the layout and design. 18. This facility has stated that it has been designed for a Category 5 hurricane on the Saffir-Simpson scale. The wind speeds indicated in this report were based on the design parameters fount on the drawings, without the benefit of structural calculations and safety factors provided by the Engineer of Record. Such calculations could show that this facility exceeds the ultimate wind speed of a Category 4 Hurricane and falls within the range of a Category 5 Hurricane. However, this would require additional analysis not necessary for this report. Refers to non-validated information. No documentation was provided. The symbol ± is equivalent to approximately.

26 Recommendations
27 Recommendation Considerations For redundancy, the three PSAP locations should be separately located around the County. The three locations need to have a high level of security for both human issues and climatic events. The three locations need to have a modern and secure technological infrastructure for both data and communications systems. The three locations need to be able to house the personnel required to operate the call center within a larger area of service.
28 Recommendations 1) Sunrise Police Department. 2) Coconut Creek Public Safety Building. 3) Pembroke Pines Fire Station. 4) BSO Public Safety Complex.
