2 The Role of the NCSC NCSC exists to assist with the implementation and development of a new generation of hot asphalt mixtures and performance related evaluation techniques NCSC provides the needed link between the research community and the community of practitioners critical to development of improved HMA pavements of the future.

3 The Role of the NCSC The center conducts training courses; develops educational materials; provides research services in the area of aggregates, binders and mixtures; and acts as a clearinghouse for the gathering and dissemination of Superpave information. It also fosters an understanding and appreciation of advanced HMA technology.

4 The Role of the NCSC The center maintains extensive laboratory facilities and is well poised to conduct both basic and applied research activities. One unique feature of NCSC is the ability to form multidisciplinary teams of researchers and practitioners to solve specific field and implementation problems. The Center promotes networking and provides a forum for multi-state cooperation.

5 The Role of the NCSC The center actively seeks external funding for research projects and graduate fellowships in HMA area The center s website provides free information on a number of Superpave related issues and is one of the most comprehensive sites that provides critical links to number of Superpave related resources.
