As vehicles have become more complex Ethernet is becoming crucial for these complex future vehicle applications such as advanced driver assistance features, consumer devices, car 2.x applications and over the air communication. However Ethernet also poses challenges on the network architecture some of which include predictable communication, data synchronisation and security. > This presentation will focus on the Ethernet journey of Jaguar Land Rover so far including some of the key challenges that we faced and how we overcame them during the development of an Ethernet backbone. The potential future challenges will also be addressed as the industry migrates from a backbone enabled architecture to a service based architecture. 11:00 Coffee Break
2 Wednesday, 27th Sept, 2017 Manufacturing Technology Centre, CV7 9JU 11:30 4 Functional Safety and Cyber Security - Experiences and Trends Prof. Dr Christof Ebert, Managing Director, Vector Consulting Services > Functional safety and cyber security are today the major challenges in automotive systems. Security directly impacts reliability, availability and functional safety. There is no safety without security. Novel architectures with Ethernet and increasingly open interfaces demand new mechanisms to ensure security and thus protect the functional safety. The development of protected E/E systems starts with systematic evaluation of safety hazards and security threats. On this basis safety and security requirements are identified and implemented. Verification and validation has to be done thoroughly, such as regression tests and efficiently to control cost. Based on our experiences in many client projects, we will emphasize experiences and latest trends in safety and security. 12:00 5 Driver Safety from a Different Point of View Paul Whiting, Director of Automotive Europe, Daqri Automotive > Get the information you need without losing sight of the real world Daqri smart HUD 12:30 Lunch Break 13:30 6 What s New in AUTOSAR? Stephen Waldron, Local Product Line Manager, Vector GB > What are the latest and greatest features in AUTOSAR? Including the improved security features in the revised Crypto stack and the functional enhancements of Ethernet communications in AUTOSAR 4.3, with also a brief look at what might be coming next in AUTOSAR :00 7 e-mobility and V2G A Matching Pair Jonas Leserer, Business Development Manager, Vector Informatik > The automotive market is in a big change process. More and more new car manufacturers are joining the market with electric vehicles. All have one thing in common: They must be able to communicate with the external environment. Let s talk about challenges, needs and opportunities.

6 Thursday, 28th Sept, 2017 Manufacturing Technology Centre, CV7 9JU 14:30 Coffee Break 15:00 9 Vector Toolsets Used in Rail Data Analysis/Prognostics Projects Stephanie Coates, Project Manager and Chartered Engineer, Fishbone Solutions Mark Gadsby, Director and Chartered Engineer, Fishbone Solutions > Modern railway vehicles carry an On Train Monitoring Recorder (OTMR), analogous to the black box on airplanes. In late 2014, Fishbone Solutions embarked on an R&D project funded by Angel Trains which identified a lot of valuable information within the OTMR. This presentation will demonstrate how the algorithms developed by Fishbone Solutions have been used to interpret this raw data and how Vector vsignalyzer software can visualise this data. The future potential to roll out the solution as a key aid to predictive maintenance and opportunities to supplement the OTMR data with additional Vector hardware will also be explored. 15:30 10 How to Improve Software Quality by Ensuring Testing Completeness Jason Evans, Field Application Engineer, Vector Software > For any organization building software, the first step to improving quality should be to understand what they are currently testing. One of the easiest ways to measure existing testing completeness is to add code coverage analysis to the test process. Code coverage measurement can be deployed throughout the development lifecycle without requiring a huge investment in time and money, or negatively impacting the project schedule. Code coverage analysis leverages the testing that an organization is already doing, and yields actionable testing effectiveness data. 16:00 Official End of the Event Further Information Registration Participation and refreshments are free-of-charge. However space is limited and registration is essential. Your contact at Vector Joanna Bennett, phone: Event Site Manufacturing Technology Centre Pilot Way, Coventry CV7 9JU Tel.: Parking Available on site free of charge.
