3 Why ProvideX When developing software solutions Jonas listens to their customers and technological trends. Since Jonas started in 1990 the goal has been to build a functionally rich solid product that can be accessed and updated quickly. The ProvideX System has demonstrated that capability. Structured Query Language (SQL) is a de facto standard for database query languages, recognized by the American National Standards Institute (ANSI) and used by virtually all database technologies in the industry today. All databases and/or file systems that supply generic interfaces such as ODBC must provide an ANSI-standard SQL interface. ProvideX is no exception to this rule. Its ODBC drivers are fully SQL-compliant thus allowing applications that wish to use SQL (such as Access, Excel, etc.) to read from or write to the ProvideX database. However, ProvideX is so much more than a database. It is a complete development environment designed specifically for designing and building business applications. It includes a database/file system, SQL-compliant ODBC drivers, graphical development toolkit, programming language, web connectivity -- all designed to run on a wide variety of computer systems. Unlike other development environments, all aspects of ProvideX are designed to work seamlessly together while at the same time interface with other external components. What this means to our clients is that ProvideX is a complete development environment that provides all the facilities required to design, create, and implement an application. This reduces the risk of incompatibilities between various system components, and it means that support of the product and its components comes from a single source. This avoids the common problem of trying to track the source of a problem when multiple vendors are involved. Its components are highly optimized to work together. The application language is closely tied to the database technology allowing for high-speed data access. All components of the ProvideX environment, when used together, take advantage of a common architecture to provide maximum speed and flexibility. ProvideX also adheres to generally-accepted software standards. Its database fully supports SQL (as mentioned earlier), the language can be used to access or develop Windows COM interfaces, and Web Services. This allows for a full integration of ProvideX applications into non- ProvideX applications, such as.net applications and vice versa. ProvideX is not just a database technology. What makes ProvideX different is that they provide the "complete solution", optimized to provide high performance, capable of integrating the latest industry standards, and implemented such that the resultant application will run on virtually any operating system.

All Jonas Web components are written in ASP.NET & AJAX (Microsoft Tools) technology with a backend SQL database communicating seamlessly with the core Jonas system. New applications written by Jonas will consider new richer graphical interfaces using.net technology to keep above the curve in technology. With the increasing reliance on Business Intelligence to run a successful business, Jonas has introduced a reporting database (SQL) that is real-time and has been specifically transformed to allow for a more robust reporting experience, without impacting the performance of the core system.
