This problem applies to both the ODBC Driver (when the 'IDMS' communications protocol is in use) as well as the JDBC Driver (when the Type 4 driver is being used). Clients will get the "DC Security violation" message on their DC log file without further indication of the user ID or task code causing this security message. Without this extra information, it is very difficult for the security administrator to take necessary actions. No circumvention available. An infrequent S0C4 abend occurs at RHDCSSFM+7CA in extended MVS CSA after applying PTF RO77615 (18.0), PTF RO77614 (18.5) or PTF RO79103 (19.0). Unexpected SAF security messages are displayed for normal external security functions. For example, an IDMS ACF2 signon which only specifies the userid and no password results in an "ACF01007 A PASSWORD IS REQUIRED FOR LOGONID lid" message being displayed on the system console or log. 1) IDMS/CV may abend S0C4 at infrequent intervals when external security is enabled. 2) Extra SAF security messages appear for normal security functions. Specifying SAFSUPP=NO will display external SAF messages to the z/os console and z/os log. Note 1: External SAF messages will be routed and displayed to the IDMS user terminal and IDMS log regardless of the setting of SAFSUPP. To suppress the display of the external SAF messages on the IDMS user terminal enable Optional Bit 51 in module RHDCOPTF. To suppress the display of the external SAF messages on the IDMS log enable Optional Bit 226 in module RHDCOPTF. For example to suppress external SAF messages from display on the z/os console and z/os log: #SECRTT TYPE=ENTRY, X RESTYPE=SGON, X SECBY=EXTERNAL, X EXTNAME=<RESNAME>, X SAFSUPP=YES Note 2 : One or more of the modules affected by this PTF must be reloaded using "CAIRIM" with the refresh parameter as described in the CA IDMS Installation guide.
