Select Virtual Lists from Patients Lists, Trust Wide Patient s Virtual Lists from Virtual List Summary and Unplanned Patient

You will then be presented with the Unplanned Patient List like in the example below.

2 Unplanned Patient List (UPL) The Unplanned Patient List (UPL) is an electronic Patient List used for the management of acute (nonelective) patients coming into the hospital. The UPL can be accessed via Browse List in the Actions bar on the Home page. Select Virtual Lists from Patients Lists, Trust Wide Patient s Virtual Lists from Virtual List Summary and Unplanned Patient List from Trust Wide Patient s Virtual List. You will then be presented with the Unplanned Patient List like in the example below. Example UPL REMEMBER The Unplanned Patient List is split in two sections: Added and Updated with the most recent at the top. You can ungroup the sections by clicking on Ungroup in the top-right. Adding a Patient to the UPL To add a patient to the UPL click on from the Actions bar

Click on and you should be presented with one search result as the NHS and PAS numbers

3 Adding a Patient to the UPL To add a patient to the UPL click on from the Actions bar on the left. You can then add a patient to the UPL using their NHS or PAS Number. Click on and you should be presented with one search result as the NHS and PAS numbers are unique identifiers (nationally and within the Trust respectively). Updating UPL Details To update the column details in the UPL for each patient, click on the row of the patient you would like to update and the Unplanned Patient List dialogue box

Bed Type(s). Receiving Site. Comments. Ensure to select once complete, to update the UPL.

4 Updating UPL Details To update the column details in the UPL for each patient, click on the row of the patient you would like to update and the Unplanned Patient List dialogue box will be displayed. From here you can update the: Route of Entry. Current Location. Clinical Information. Arrival to Hospital. Assess Time. TCI Time. Specialty. TCI Type. Bed Type(s). Receiving Site. Comments. Ensure to select once complete, to update the UPL. UPL Columns Along with the columns we are able to update, the UPL also has columns for: Action - here you can view the Single Patient View and Remove the patient from the UPL. Demographics such as name, Age, Date Of Birth, NHS Number and PAS Number. Ward - if they are currently an Inpatient. Bed - if they are currently an Inpatient. Last Updated - Date and time of last update. Removing Patients from the UPL To remove a patient from the UPL, click on the arrow in the Action column for the patient you would like

6 Custom UPL You can create a Custom Unplanned Patient List to meet your specific requirement (a lot like the Custom Ward List - see the full PPM+ User Guide for details). To do this you can either select from Unplanned Patient List from the Home Screen or Create Custom Virtual List when on the UPL. Give your Custom View a name and then you can start to outline your requirements. In this example, we would like to view a list of Unplanned Patients that are coming into St. James Hospital under the Cardiology Speciality. From Home Screen: From UPL View: First, we shall select the site so select Receiving Site from the Filter Types, then on SJUH as that s the site we would like to view the Unplanned Patients for. Next, we would like to view the Unplanned Cardiology Patients for SJUH, so select Speciality from the Filter Types, search for the speciality then select the one you would like to add to the Filter Criteria. You can also view the Audit trail of specific patients by selecting the tab in the Unplanned Patient List dialogue box.
