China Summary In the paper, comprehensively explaining structure, function and main contents of databank for genetic resource of wild yak in China. Keywords: Wild yak, databank, genetic resource Introduction Wild yak of China is a special species on Qinghai-Tibet plateau (once in a while saw wild yak for seasonal migratory from China in India and Nepal). In the IUCN, wild yak is listed VU species.in the Book for wild animal of keystone protection in China, wild yak is ranked the first class protected animal. Since 1980 s, protection and utilization achievement of wild yak is prominent: nearly regarding on action of international wildlife protection organization and actively assuming its obligation; strengthening announcement and education for wildlife protection, at the same time, strictly prohibiting hunting; constructing natural conservation areas; sustaining protection, utilization and study of wild yak, above measures made wild yak population be under relative stabilization condition and have increasing potential. Construction of databank for genetic resource of wild yak in China (the part content of construction for special basic project of national science and technology, which supported by Ministry of Science and Technology in China) may offer credible bases for government to establish policy, law and regulations and action plan of wild yak protection and utilization, at the same time, supply endangered information of wild yak population for the public to promote the society pay attention to wild yak. Structure construction of databank for genetic resource of wild yak in China Program design According to advanced language DELPHI which is foreground design language and SQL SERVER 2000 which is background databank, developed participation databank software of local area network for databank for genetic resource of wild yak in China. Using C/S structure C/S is Client/Server. Its excellence is to exert disposal ability of client PC, which make clients deal with many things then give them to Server. Using ADO to connect databank ADO is Activex Data Objects. It and OLE DB Provider operate together to offer ability of universal Data Access. OLE DB is a bottom interface data access, which may access all kinds of data source, including relative type databank, electric mail system and user-defined commercial objects. Excellences of ADO are convenient, frequent and small space occupied, Therefore, which is fit to databank access technique for the server. Having reception and landing interface Only legal users would use the software and insure data safe. Administrative system menu of using popedom System administrator has the highest popedom of the software. System administrator distribute system menu to legal users popedom so to use data and materials safely and secretly. System function of application software Designed below functions in the application software, namely, writing down basic records, maintaining, querying, making statistic, printing, system maintaining. System configuration A computer with operating system above win98; a mouse; at least 64M EMS memory; display with differentiate rate; 30M HD for application program. Anatomy of system function for databank for genetic resource of wild yak in China Program installation Program installation steps (demonstrating interface of databank is briefed): Firstly, install SQL databank. Take CD in CD driver, then install individual edition of SQL predigest Chinese. After finished, knock begin program Microsoft SQL Server query analyzer. Secondly, set up databank and table. after inputting landing-name and code, enter interface. Singly knock and open set up bank.sql under selection installation list, then press ellipse red cycle to select wildanimal, at last singly knock and open set up bank.sql under selection installation list. Last, set up user name of SQL databank as easyboot and code as empty. After databank installation has finished, next, install program. Doubly knock setup.exe under installation list. According to clue to install program. Initial user name and code are 000 and 123 respectively. After finished installation, enter program list, amend option.ini file SERVER NAME= item. At the back of equal mark, you may input the name of sql databank or IP address on SERVER. Essence information According to menu, input essence information. Inputting essence information of sub-menu is as follows: files and documents of China wild yak; feeding yak of China wild yak; management of China wild yak; genetic resource of China wild yak; natural condition of China wild yak; charge of China wild yak; embryo of China wild yak; frozen semen of China wild yak; breed databank of China yak; literature of China yak; yak breed association of all over the country; science and researching project of China yak; members of yak breed association of all over the country ( individual and group); operators databank and so on. When you input data, you may knock letter title of menu or menu on program interface. If you need add new record, please singly knock addition button, input related record in turn; if you would amend record, you may direct the record to corresponding red cycle to knock singly amendment button. If you want to delete record, please knock singly delectation button. Once you finished a record operation, you may knock singly submission button to save record in databank. If you don t want to save the record, you may knock singly cancel button to cancel the operation. If you want to look over picture in record, you may knock singly show picture to look over picture. topic word content button recorded topic word content, advise you to use micro-word to edit and paste, if you want to save the content,then knock singly OK button; if you don t want to save content, please knock X button to exit. When you remark and input, advise you to use micro-word to edit and paste, if you want to save the content, then knock singly OK button; if you don t want to save content, please knock X button to exit. If data are outside given condition, you may query them above query; If data are inside given condition, you may query them below query. If you don t understand data condition, you may use illegibility query. Before printing, users should query firstly, when you insure content that is what you need, then you may use print function to print the data. You may use red cycle to mark content that you select. You may use arrow to mark typeset of printed files. When you knock data, order will be performed. Users may design printed space of a whole page according to themselves requirement. If data can t be printed in a row, you may extend homepage data until data are printed entirely. Operation of inserting data is similar to above. Overall statistic Overall statistic operation is the same as comprehensive query. System function In system function, you may alter background picture, when users select pictures, they may browse them. You do your best to use size picture.
