2 3 Issues 3.1 Migration Utility for ERWINBUS 7.50 The ERWBUS migration utility is only required if you have existing ERWINBUS data in Rochade that was created with an ERWINBUS version before and if that data actually uses the ERWBUS RIM. This will be the case if you have uploaded physical ERwin models. Search for fixes for ERWINBUS 7.20 available from the ISP and take the following download: Fix Reference: ROERWINBUS Information for Saving ERwin R7 XML File For correct ERWINBUS processing it is important to save the XML file with the maximum amount of information: Under menu FILE / SAVE AS, select Save as type: XML Files. On the next panel, select Save As XML File, Standard XML Format and switch off the checkbox Only save minimum amount of information. 3.3 Information for Saving the ERX File For correct ERWINBUS processing it is important to save the ERX file (import/export file for ERWINBUS) in ERwin in the LOGICAL part of the model. When saving the ERX file in ERwin, it is especially important for views that you click the Expand button, and it is also very important that you click each of the check boxes provided in this dialog. Do not use the Select All button!!! 3.4 Reusing a Downloaded ERX File If you want to reuse a downloaded ERX file for an upload, please make sure that you first import the downloaded ERX file into ERwin and save this file again as an ERX file. In the process, ERwin adds some important pieces of information, (e.g., information relating to ERwin internal diagram positions) that are necessary for the upload. 3.5 User-Defined Properties from ERwin 3.5 and Please note that user-defined properties from ERwin 3.5 and are only supported for Upload to ASG-Rochade. 2

3 3.6 Using Extended Rochade Names (for ERWINBUS 6.00 or higher) If you want to use the Extended Rochade Names feature for ERWINBUS, make sure that the following prerequisites are installed: - Rochade Client 7.0 (or higher) - Rochade Java API (or higher) - A Rochade AutoPilot application based on CDM RIM 1.53 or higher The new Rochade products WebAccess or Metability should be used for work with applications which were populated by ERWINBUS upload to Rochade (XNS). There are certain limitations when you use AutoPilot to work with this type of applications. 5 3.8 ERWINBUS Handling of Item Deletion 4 Compatibility How item deletion is handled depends on these circumstances: Does ERWINBUS use XNS? If ERWINBUS uses XNS, does it use the Rochade Database namespace or the ERWin Model namespace? If ERWINBUS does not use XNS, is an item to be deleted "independent" or "dependent"? If ERWINBUS does not use XNS, or uses XNS with Namespace=Rochade Database: "Independent" items like subject areas, entities, relationships and value sets are never deleted by ERWINBUS. This is because these item types can be used by more than one model within the same Rochade application (if more than one model is uploaded into on Rochade application). "Dependent" items like attributes, identifiers and allowed values are deleted by ERWINBUS when the owning object is uploaded and does not longer contain the dependent item. If ERWINBUS uses XNS with Namespace=ERwin Model: All items (dependent and independent) that are no longer contained within the uploaded ERwin Model are deleted from Rochade. Modeling Tool Versions supported: CA ERwin Data Modeler to 9.5, and CA ERwin Model Manager (ModelMart / Mart Server) 7.2 to 9.5. Manufacturer: Computer Associates International, Inc. This version of ERWINBUS works with applications that are based on the ERWBUS- RIM 1.14 (or higher), on the CDM RIM 1.53 (or higher), or on the RDM RIM 1.24 (or higher). Please note that CDM RIM 1.53 (or higher) is a prerequisite for ERWINBUS with ERWBUS RIM, or ERWINBUS with RDM RIM. 5

Version Support for Kerberos-based Rochade authentication has been added: If Kerberos-based Rochade authentication is enabled, specifying an asterisk (*) as the Rochade user name causes ERWINBUS to use the credentials of the user who started ERWINBUS for Rochade authentication (i.e., specifying a password is not required). Support for Transport Layer Security (TLS) has been added to encrypt the communication between ERWINBUS and Rochade Server. Version CA Erwin Data Modeler 9.5 supported for Upload and Download. Spaces and invalid characters in NAME attribute of physical Objects (RDM/TABLE, RDM/COLUMN, etc.) and in PHYSNAME attribute of logical objects (CDM/ENTITY, CDM/ATTRIBUTE, etc) replaced by "_".

9 For Upload logical and physical Model from AllFusion ERwin to ASG Rochade (CDM/ERWBUS-RIM): Option "Upload FK Attributes" added. Usage of Owner as prefix for Rochade Item Names can be switched off in "Upload logical and physical Model from CA ERwin to ASG-Rochade (CDM/RDM-RIM)" and "Upload physical Model from CA ERwin to ASG-Rochade (RDM-RIM)". Version New RDM RIM 1.07 required. Important Note: The Repository Information Model RDM-RIM has been renamed to RDM. The existing RDM-RIM is automatically renamed to RDM by the RIM installation procedure. Upload and Download of AllFusion ERwin models with Double Byte Character Sets supported (e.g. Chinese, Japanese, and Korean character sets). AllFusion ERwin Data Modeler release 7.2 supported. Maps of Erwin "Physical Only" Models to Logical Models: GUIDs of logical source objects are inserted into attribute LOGICAL_GUID for RDM/MODEL, RDM/TABLE, RDM/COLUMN, RDM/INDEX, RDM/REFERENTIAL_CONSTRAINT, and RDM/DISTINCT_TYPE. Version With this new version of ERWINBUS, we have splitted the ERX and XML upload and download process to ERWBUS-RIM or CDM-RIM. You can decide in the Interface pull-down menu which ERwin export/import file you want to upload and download to Rochade and into which RIM you want to upload and download it. Also a new version of CDM-RIM 1.43 and ERWBUS-RIM 1.14 is necessary. Furthermore, we support ERwin version R7 for the upload and download of ERwin XML files into the CDM-RIM and/or RDM-RIM. The new RDM-RIM 1.01 stores the physical part of the ERwin XML files, not longer the ERWBUS-RIM. Also the Batch-Upload to Rochade was adjusted to the new methods described above. 9

11 6 Installation Instructions Installation Prerequisites for ERWINBUS Note: Every single BUS has to be installed in a separate subdirectory. Prerequisite for ERWINBUS is that the BUS will be installed in a separate subdirectory (e.g. c:\rochade\erwinbus). Application based on RDM RIM, ERWBUS RIM or CDM RIM ERWINBUS works with the ERWBUS RIM 1.14 or higher, or with the RDM RIM 1.24 or higher, which requires the CDM RIM version 1.53 or higher as a prerequisite, or it works with the CDM RIM 1.53 or higher only. To install the CDM RIM, please call the ADM installation first (NT/Unix/...), and then the Application installation. The ERWBUS RIM, CDM RIM and RDM RIM is included in your ERWINBUS installation package. After the ADM installation and Application installation for ERWINBUS, you have to generate the ERWBUS RIM and RDM RIM and create an application based on that RIM. If your Rochade installation already contains an application based on ERWBUS RIM, RDM RIM, or CDM RIM of a lower version and you want to use this application with ERWINBUS, then this application has to be reorganized. Please also check if all item types of your application are activated (via Update View in the AutoPilot Application Administration). 11

12 6.1 System Requirements During installation, you temporarily need about 5 MB of free disk space. Software Requirements - Windows Vista/7/8/8.1 Windows Server R2 - Rochade Client 7.0 (or higher) - Rochade Java API corresponding to your Rochade version - Rochade API DLLs corresponding to your Rochade version - A subject area based on CDM RIM 1.53 (or higher) with Tree-like Structure ON - Microsoft XML Parser (MSXML) 3.0 or higher You can download MSXML from - The required ROCHBUS components are included in this ERWINBUS package - For Upload of Erwin models from Erwin ModelMart or CA ERWin Model Manager to ASG-Rochade, ERwin must be installed on the client where ERWINBUS is run, as the ERwin API functions are used for reading from ERwin ModelMart and CA ERwin Model Manager. 12

13 6.2 Installation Rochade applications, such as ERWINBUS, are installed in two steps: The ADM installation and the Application installation. The ADM installation requires that you have Operator or Administrator rights; hence this installation should be carried out by a system or database administrator. ERWINBUS is not yet available to the end user after the ADM installation. The application installation installs ERWINBUS on the local computer. This includes copying all the required programs and libraries to the local directories, as well as setting up the installation program for applications. The only prerequisite is that the applications have been installed in the administration environment. After the Application installation has been completed, ERWINBUS is available to the end user. To start ADM installation 1. Double-click the icon of your Rochade ADM installation (ADM icon) for starting the ADM installation. 2. In the subsequent dialog, select ERWINBUS. To start Application installation 1. Double-click the icon of your Rochade Application installation (Application icon) for starting the application installation. 2. In the subsequent dialog select ERWINBUS. Remark: ERWINBUS can also be installed and executed from a File Server. A default target directory is suggested, but you may choose a different directory if you wish. The installation directory will be created, and all necessary files will be copied into this directory. The ERWINBUS icon will be created in the ROCHBUS folder. Note: Customization of the TOOLBUS interface is described in the ERWINBUS User's Guide. 6.3 Starting and Using ERWINBUS Starting and using ERWINBUS is described in the ERWINBUS User's Guide. 13
