2 Introduction Submitting Artwork We request a minimum of 5 working days from receipt of artwork to allow us to meet your deadline. The following is a basic outline of the submission process: 1. Client creates artwork. 2. Client submits artwork. 3. We provide final low resolution PDF proof for approval. 4. Client submits approval. 5. Artwork goes to print. Common Mistakes 1. Incorrect document size. 2. Artwork is not converted to CMYK 3. Spot colours not converted to CMYK 4. Text is not converted to path or fonts not included 5. Links are low quality. 6. Document contains missing links. Creating artwork 1. Where possible please use one of the available templates to setup your artwork. 2. Submit your final artwork as a high resolution PDF, following the export options highlighted on page Be sure to find out the correct size of your finished print prior to submission. 4. Set your artwork at 25% of the final printed size. E.g. If print size equals 700mmx2000mm, the document should be set at 175mmx500mm. 5. Add 5mm bleed to your document settings. 6. If you have multiple panels joining to form a seamless graphic, set this up as one page, submitting a text file explaining the panel breakdown from left to right. 7. Where possible convert all fonts to paths/ outlines. Alternatively ensure all screen, postscript, true type and/or open type fonts are embedded in the PDF. 8. Always specify Pantone colour references or specify the CMYK split you wish to achieve and if available please supply a colour sample. A colour correct proof will incur a charge. [Please be aware it is virtually impossible to match PMS colours with CMYK printing, however results are very close]. 9. Please supply all links as CMYK, 300dpi at 25% final size. Do not use Desktop colour separations or spot colours when saving files. 10. Link images as Tiff files with no compression. EPS links can cause corruption when used in numbers, however are acceptable where necessary. JPEG (max quality) and Bitmap links are also accepted.

3 Summary Artwork Example Below is an example of how to setup a standard three panel Twist, complete with Flexi Link and Media screen, in InDesign CS5. Please note these dimensions are an example ONLY. Approval Upon receipt of your artwork, one of our team will create a low resolution PDF proof and this to you. Once this has been signed off by you/the client, your artwork will be sent to print. Make sure that Your document is the right size. 2. You convert all artwork to CMYK. 3. All spot colours are converted to CMYK. 4. All fonts are embedded or converted. to outlines. 5. All links are high quality and included. 6. Export settings are followed.! Use default program guides where possible. 2. Correct document dimensions for your artwork requirements. 3. The overall document scale is 25% of the finished print size. 4. Do not add tick marks to the document. 5. Hide all non printable cut lines before exporting. 6. Make sure the document has 5mm bleed. 7. Supply a text file explaining the breakdown from left to right.

4 Export Presets Indesign We accept exported PDF s from Indesign in two formats; Multiple Page or Spread. Our preferred option is Multiple Page, however if the document is built as a spread this isn t a problem, just send us the breakdown from left to right in a separate text file

6 Export Presets Photoshop We strongly recommend using a vector based program for large format printing. Nevertheless, there are a selection of people who feel at home in Photoshop; if you re one of them, here are the export settings we prefer
