1 BRANDED PANEL ARTWORK INSTRUCTIONS Dates: May 2017 Venue: Hyatt Regency & Swissôtel Location: Chicago, IL

2 Branded Meeting Rooms are constructed using metal frames and printable panels that slot into the frames to make the walls. If you have opted to supply your own print-ready artwork, you will receive a PDF template for your panel design. Your template is specific to your room and panel configuration.

3 HOW TO USE YOUR TEMPLATE To make full use of this template, open this PDF into Adobe Illustrator CS5 (or newer) and work on the layer entitled Your Artwork. These panels are set up at 1/10 actual print size. Do not resize the template. The template is divided into panels because each panel is printed separately and then slotted into the frames. The space between each panel in the template represents these frames. You must lay your artwork across all the panels in your template. Do not create separate artwork for each panel or the design will not join up correctly. SEE OUR TOP TIPS ON THE LAST PAGE

4 The safe visual area is the area of each panel that definitely won t be hidden behind the panel frames. Your design must fill the whole panel, but anything printed outside this area may be hidden under the frame, so ensure you place small text and crucial graphics accordingly. he recommended live T text area is the place where you should put all critical messaging and images. Again, your design must fill the whole panel, but anything printed lower on the panel will be too low for people to read. ARTWORK REQUIREMENTS Vector art is preferred where possible. Any rasterised images must have a resolution of 1000dpi (i.e. 100dpi when panels are printed full size). Convert all text to outlines, prior to creating your PDF (but remember to retain a live text version for yourself!). Do not convert RGB images to CMYK colour space. Reference all Pantone colours used. Turn off crop or registration marks when you save your final PDF artwork, but retain the document bleed settings. Submit the artwork to us as an Adobe Illustrator PDF. We cannot accept artwork in the following formats: Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Publisher), CoralDRAW, QuarkXPress, FreeHand, Adobe PageMaker. If you don t use the template, your artwork must be submitted as separate panels, not one large image. WHEN YOU RE SATISFIED WITH YOUR ARTWORK completed artwork to nikki.willard@capacitymedia.com. For larger files we recommend using a file transfer service such as WeTransfer. Deadline for submitting print-ready artwork is Friday 17 March 2017, but we strongly recommend submitting it sooner to allow time for us to check it and for you to make any necessary adjustments. 5 BRANDED PANEL ARTWORK DESIGN TIPS Keep it Simple Small text or lots of text simply won t be read and you will lose impact from across a busy exhibit hall. Think Big Designs that work well on paper or look good on a desktop screen will not necessarily translate well to largescale printing. Get Noticed Keep the important parts of your design in the top 2/3 of the panels (Recommended Live Text Area). Anything below this height won t be noticed across the hall. Mind the Gap Reposition smaller text or crucial graphics so you don t lose them under the panel frames. Just be careful not to split words or it won t scan correctly. Look Good Inside & Out Your visitors will have been to many similar meeting rooms at ITW. Make yours stand out by branding your internal walls too. Be Bold Bold designs with high-contrast colours have the greatest impact and will allow your branding to stand out.
