2 Dear Teacher, Thank you for purchasing First Day of School Certificates. To use simply fill in names and date (see instructions) on the certificate, print and hand out at the end of the school day. To add text: Click in the text field. Type student name, date and your name. Once certificate has been typed, simply print the page and save if desired. Clear the student name by clicking on text field, delete and then type next name. If you need to make the font smaller due to a long name, press CTRL and E (PC) or Command and E (Mac) to open the properties bar. Change font size using drop down menu. If you would like smaller versions of the certificates, when you print the document simply choose Page Scaling: Multiple pages per sheet. Then change Pages per sheet: to the 2, 4 or 6 depending on how big you want the certificates. Then press OK. 2013
3 Certificates To type on the editable labels, follow the instructions below. 1. Click on the text fields and type text. Currently the text is set as I Want Crazy size 60 (student name) and size 20 (date/teacher name). If you are happy with this font, skip step You may want to change the size for longer names! If you would like to change the font type or size (smaller), Press CTRL and E (PC) or Command and E (Mac) to open the properties bar. Change the font type and size to your preference using the drop down menu. 3. If you would like to save the document, this feature has been enabled. Don t forget to change the filename if you plan on making multiple documents! 4. When printing, ensure the page scaling is set to fit to printable area. 5. Usually you will be able to follow the above steps. However, you may need to download the font I Want Crazy a Kimberly Geswein Font which can be download for free at her TpT store: Kimberly-Geswein-Fonts (this step is provided as a troubleshooter rather than a step that normally needs to be followed). ** These instructions are compatible with the latest Adobe Reader which can be downloaded for free here:

8 The pdf file in this download needs to be opened in Adobe Reader. You can download the latest Adobe Reader for free at: What if my file isn't printing correctly? Sometimes a PDF will look fine on your screen, but may not print out correctly (especially if the file is graphic-heavy). Try this: 1. Open the file in Adobe Reader. 2. Click "Print" within the Adobe Reader application. 3. You can select "adjust to fit" if necessary. 4. Click "advanced." 5. Check the "print as image" box. a97.html If this doesn t work there are a few other things you could try: Trouble Shooting Print pdf file a few pages at a time in batches. Restart your computer, and then print the PDF file: If the file prints correctly, your system may have been out of memory or resources. Turn off your printer for at least 15 seconds to flush its memory, and then turn it back on and print the PDF file: If the file prints correctly, the printer's memory was too full. troubleshoot-printing-problems-in-adobe-acrobat-and-reader How do I open a PDF with Adobe Reader on a Mac? The default PDF application on a Mac is called Preview. This program is not compatible with newer PDF files. You must take these steps to open your PDF with Adobe Reader: 1. Highlight the PDF product icon with one click. 2. Go to "File" at the top of the screen. 3. Choose "Open with." 4. Select "Adobe Reader." 5. You may be prompted to make Adobe the default program when opening PDFs. This is a good idea so you won't have to repeat the steps above. a87.html
9 Trouble Shooting Why is my PDF blurry? There are black lines where the images should be. Newly created PDF files need to be opened with the latest Adobe Reader software. You can get that for free here: The text is getting cut off in the editable text fields The text fields have been set with the default as described in the instructions. If you change the text style or size to be greater than the default the text will get cut off in sections. Resize text size or style to fit within the parameters. You may like to experiment with the size, style and formatting of text fields within these parameters by pressing Ctrl e (PC) together or Command e (MAC) together. The properties bar will appear allowing font style and size to be altered. Clicking on More and then Paragraph Tab which will enable changes to be made to alignment and spacing. If you are a MAC user, ensure you have opened the pdf file with Adobe Reader and not Preview. Still Having Problems? Please click Contact Us at the bottom of any page on the TpT site to open a new ticket. A member of the TpT Support Team will reply with support. Alternatively, contact me on the Ask a Question Tab at my store. I would be happy to work through any issues I can. In both cases please offer as many details as possible so that efficient assistance can be provided. Thanks to Krista Wallden for her awesome fonts and borders:
