2 OS X Linux Introduction These release notes accompany mocha For mocha Pro and mocha VR this is a patch update for several important defect fixes. Release notes cover mocha Pro and mocha VR, for both standalone and plugin versions of the product. Documentation is available inside mocha by pressing the F1 key. Build notes Please read the following notes carefully as they may affect efficient use of the product. OFX builds of the mocha Pro and VR Plugin have been tested to work with The Foundry Nuke, Blackmagic Fusion Studio and Silhouette v6. Other hosts that utilize OFX may operate the mocha Pro OFX Plugin correctly, but at this stage they are unofficially supported and may experience problems. Python is not supported in the plugin versions of mocha Pro or mocha VR. This means any tools created by Python will not be functional. This includes some exports such as Silhouette shapes. New Features in mocha Pro Better Linux installation support: You can now install mocha to a different directory on Linux. Memory performance improvements: mocha is now much more memory efficient GPU tracking improvements: The GPU tracker has new stability and accuracy improvements. Tracking search areas are optimized: mocha now adjusts the initial Auto search area based on the image size. This also scales with proxies. 2

3 Rendering is faster in Media Composer: We have added several improvements to the AVX rendering speed and stability. See Known Defects for potential issues related to linked footage. New Features in mocha VR This version introduces the new mocha VR product: Tracking search areas are optimized: mocha now adjusts the initial Auto search area based on the image size. Fixed issues since MO-130 Reorient Preview is slow mocha VR Reorient Preview renders are now much faster. MO-116 Remove can render slowly in Media Composer timeline mocha Pro AVX Plugin, mocha VR AVX Plugin Remove would render very slowly to the timeline. We still recommended not using codecs with random-access frames, like H.264. MO-112 Keyframes are not shown when selecting Reorient controls Moving reorient on-screen controls now shows the keyframes in the timeline. 3

5 On Sierra, the EULA page now shows correctly when opening the DMG file. Fixed Issues Since MO-37 Can t delete mask keyframe set on current frame You can now remove a keyframe as soon as it has been created. MO-23 Changing Lens models in preferences does nothing Changing Lens models in Preferences now correctly alters the Lens module in new projects. MO-17 Auto Channel tracking is broken with GPU tracker enabled Auto Channel now works with the GPU tracker. MO-10 GPU tracking error when switching from "no distortion" to other distortions in mocha Pro and VR You no longer get any GPU tracking errors when switching Lens distortion types. DE4891 Turning on Allow Unsupported GPUs is not possible if there are no supported GPUS You can now turn on Allow Unsupported GPUs when there are no supported cards present. 5

When using large numbers of linked or constrained layers (300+) the mocha GUI no longer lags DE4671 Tracking very large files consumes a lot of memory Tracking very long and large files no longer consumes all memory. DE3429 Timeline changes to spline keys when using timeline controls to adjust or review parameter keys If you create any parameter keys you can now review them with the timeline controls without jumping back to spline keys. 7

MO-151 Hovering over Render Buttons in mocha modules reveals the incorrect tooltip 10

Clear caches and re-render. MO-137 Undo deselects shape Using undo after tracking forward or backward de-selects the shape. MO-102 Zoom position is incorrect in proxy mode for 360 projects mocha VR Standalone When switching to 1:2 or 1:4 proxy, the control point position is offset in the zoom window. 11

12 Switch to 1:1. MO-101 Zoom window disappears in proxy mode mocha VR Standalone When switching to 1:2 or 1:4 proxy, the zoom window disappears when panning or zooming. Switch to 1:1. MO-94 Applying mocha Pro and VR AVX plugin on Media Composer clips that have "Matte Key" mocha Pro AVX Plugin, mocha VR AVX Plugin If you Alt-Drag mocha VR or Pro AVX plugin onto a Media Composer clip with a "Matte Key", all the frames will be black. Apply to a clip without a matte key. MO-79 Outer edge width (feather) remains consistent when layer scales Scaling down a layer retains the same pixel width in the feathering. Animate the feather with the scale to the desired width. MO-69 OpenCL tracker not working on Intel Iris (Mac) macos GPU tracking falls back to the CPU on Intel Iris GPUs, and logs a message "Failed to determine workgroup size" in the mocha log file. If your system has a different GPU available, manually select it in mocha preferences. If not, use CPU tracking. MO-64 Iris Pro GPU is failing when tracking 12

13 macos If you toggle "Track with GPU" in preferences when using Iris Pro it is not remembered due to a failure of the GPU Turn GPU tracking off or choose another GPU in the list. MO-30 Exporting an AEP file to Premiere destroys mocha project data mocha Pro Adobe Plugin, mocha VR Adobe Plugin Exporting an AEP to Premiere keeps the effect on the layer, but destroys the mocha project data. Export the mocha project from the mocha GUI in the After Effects effect and merge it into the mocha project in the Premiere version of the effect. MO-7 Black frames in mocha Pro UI when applying over BCC and Sapphire effects in the Effect Editor in AVX mocha Pro AVX Plugin, mocha VR AVX Plugin When mocha AVX plug-in is applied on top of a BCC or Sapphire effect, one can only see black frames in the Viewer window of the mocha Pro UI.. MO-4 mocharender.py crashes on Linux Linux mocha Pro Standalone, mocha VR Standalone If you attempt to run mocharender.py on RHEL Linux, you get a segmentation fault. Preload "libgl.so.1" by typing LD_PRELOAD=/usr/lib64/ libgl.so.1 before the python command. DE4883 Mocha VR AE - if comp resolution is set to third, mocha won t switch into equirectangular mode 13

14 mocha VR Adobe Plugin Since the "Third" proxy resolution often results in dimensions that are not 2:1, it will not view correctly in the mocha VR GUI Use Half or Quarter proxy instead. DE4865 Nuke Crashes after choosing no when Mocha asks if you want to run the updated installer Windows mocha Pro OFX Plugin, mocha VR OFX Plugin After downloading the latest released Mocha pro plugin build via the auto-offered dialog in nuke, if users choose not to immediately run the new installer, mocha crashes the next time its launched. Run the installer or download it separately from the website. DE4860 Repeating error message when smoothing spline points can require a force quit of Avid mocha Pro AVX Plugin, mocha VR AVX Plugin In some rare cases attempting to smooth points in the mocha GUI can cause a repeating error.. DE4848 Premiere - After cutting a clip with a mocha instance, no renders in the second clip appear until you relaunch the mocha GUI mocha Pro Adobe Plugin, mocha VR Adobe Plugin Splitting up a clip in Premiere that has the mocha Pro Effect applied will not render the clip until you relaunch mocha GUI to update the effect.. DE4804 Pasting shape data to a trimmed clip in Premiere pads the keyframes 14

15 mocha Pro Adobe Plugin, mocha VR Adobe Plugin If you apply the mocha plugin to a trimmed clip in Premiere it will open the footage correctly to the trimmed area, but will pad the frames when exporting shape data to the Premiere effects timeline. Shift the shape data keys over after pasting. DE4799 Mocha Pro Plugin - AVX - cannot cancel timeline render while in progress mocha Pro AVX Plugin, mocha VR AVX Plugin Rendering an effect in the Avid timeline can be difficult to cancel.. DE4796 Mocha Pro Plugin - Fusion - Premultiply Output label is cut off in host UI mocha Pro OFX Plugin, mocha VR OFX Plugin The Premultiply label is cut off in Fusion.. Cosmetic only. DE4794 Mocha Pro AVX Plugin- Background rendering fails in Avid MC versions older than Windows mocha Pro AVX Plugin, mocha VR AVX Plugin If you are attempting to do a background render with the mocha Pro Plugin on MC or earlier, the render fails. Render in or do a standard render. DE4793 Mocha Pro Plugin - Premiere gives low-level exception then crashes when resizing video during playback OS X mocha Pro Adobe Plugin, mocha VR Adobe Plugin 15

16 Tracking the shot and then trying to zoom or move the footage while playing back can cause a crash Only zoom/pan footage when not playing back. DE4780 Mocha Pro Plugin - Vegas - apply matte doesn t work if remove module render is turned on mocha Pro OFX Plugin, mocha VR OFX Plugin The apply matte checkbox renders black in the host if the remove module render is turned on. DE4779 Mocha Pro Plugin - Vegas - remove module doesn t render in host mocha Pro OFX Plugin, mocha VR OFX Plugin The remove module doesn t render in the Vegas host. DE4778 Mocha Plugin does not render tracks in Vegas when applied in composite mode mocha Pro OFX Plugin, mocha VR OFX Plugin Mocha doesn t render anything back in the host when you apply it from the composite mode in Vegas.. DE4776 Mocha Pro OFX Plugin Crashes host when you open it in Natron on Linux Linux mocha Pro OFX Plugin, mocha VR OFX Plugin Launching the Mocha GUI via the plugin from inside Natron crashes the host. Natron is not officially supported at present. DE4773 Cannot undock panels in mocha Pro Plugin GUI 16

Move mocha GUI window to access the viewer preferences dialog. DE4765 Quantel Rio Assist crashes when Mocha Pro is applied. mocha Pro OFX Plugin, mocha VR OFX Plugin Quantel Rio Assist crashes when Mocha Pro is applied.. Quantel Rio is not presently supported. DE4764 mocha Pro Plugin: ".bundle" in dock when running plugin if "Blackmagic Codec.Component" installed All Plugins When loading any interface related to the mocha GUI, an "xxxx.bundle" icon bounces in the OS X dock if the Blackmagic codec is installed Cosmetic defect only. Remove the Blackmagic codec to get rid of the icon in the dock. DE4758 Cleanplates can be set outside the frame range Cleanplates can be set to frame range zero, even if the clip range is above zero. 17

18 Check that clean plate numbers match timeline correctly. DE4749 Adjusting a manual track after tracking causes whole timeline to offset Adjusting in manual track mode after tracking a layer can cause the entire surface to offset.. DE4736 Mocha Pro Plugin - Vegas - When applied in composite mode, mocha timeline contains more frames than the footage its applied to mocha Pro OFX Plugin, mocha VR OFX Plugin When applied in composite mode, the mocha timeline gives nearly 4000 frames (most of which are black) regardless of the length of the source footage. Presently a Vegas software limitation. DE4730 Crash when choosing footage if stored last directory is missing If a project directory from a previously opened file no longer exists, attempting to start a new project may crash mocha. Edit the preferences file to the right location. DE4725 Mocha Pro Plugin - Vegas - Can t launch the Mocha GUI in saved projects mocha Pro OFX Plugin, mocha VR OFX Plugin In saved Vegas projects the Launch Mocha GUI button doesn t work.. 18

DE4686 Resolve - UI Glitch after tracking pre-existing layer in Mocha plugin mocha Pro OFX Plugin, mocha VR OFX Plugin Coming back to a previously drawn layer in the mocha GUI in Resolve can cause the Resolve interface to go black. Save and restart Resolve. DE4685 Frame range changes for *.mov files are not visible in mocha OFX plugin mocha Pro OFX Plugin, mocha VR OFX Plugin A limitation inside Nuke means changes to frame ranges for a clip file in a read node still brings in the full range to mocha. DE4408 Masks and shapes with non-latin characters are not pasted correctly in AE Non-Latin 1 names for layers will paste to AE with incorrect characters.. DE4380 Export Rendered Shapes does not support some image formats if high bit-depth clip is shown in viewer 24

DE4341 mocha Pro Plugin effect isn t redrawn after license/ unlicense the plugin Cached images may retain on some frames when a mocha Pro Plugin has just activated or deactivated a license, even if AE or premiere is restarted Purge the host cache. DE4346 Gamma resets from 2.2 to 1.0 when relinking EXR files 25

DE4319 Selection tools should be in tools All platforms The lasso and marquee selection tools should be in the Tools section of the Key shortcuts dialog. DE4317 mocha Pro AE plugin stutters frames if AE is playing when launching mocha mocha Pro Adobe Plugin If you hit space to play a clip in AE then launch mocha from the mocha Pro Plugin, the footage in mocha Pro may stutter. Don t play the clip while loading the plugin interface. DE4307 mocha Pro AE plugin does not read in output of effects above it in the Effects stack mocha Pro Adobe Plugin, mocha VR Adobe Plugin The AE version of the mocha Pro Plugin will only read the base layer, not the effects applied to it already. Use a precomp to contain the effects you want to read into mocha Pro Plugin. DE4297 Wrong program name when installing/uninstalling the mocha Pro Plugin on Windows Windows All Plugins There is an incorrect name shown when removing the mocha Pro Plugin. 26

DE4274 Canvas drops to the "Selected layer" from the layer matte clip after renaming the layer If you rename the layer while viewing a matte clip, the view changes back to "Selected layer" Reselect the matte clip from the clip view options DE4271 Zoom windows aren t moved when we drag mouse pointer over them on the Track and the Camera Solve pages If you move the mouse over the zoom windows in some modules, they do not move out of the way. DE4268 "Undo Render in All Frames" is not enabled for Stabilize You cannot undo the renders in Stabilize. Delete the stabilize render clip from the Clips module. DE4265 Low accuracy warning isn t shown after changing export type 27

28 If you export a camera solve and then export again to another data type, you are not warned about any low accuracy nulls.. DE4263 Adjusting manual tracking with a tablet pen alters other keyframes If you track frames then add manual track keyframes with a tablet pen, the other frames offset. If you use a mouse it behaves normally. DE4261 Pressing Zoom(Z) or Pan(X) keys causes overlays to disappear and alpha to stop working if Proxy is not 1:1 If you use the Z or X (the default pan/zoom) keys, overlays and alpha stop showing. Unselecting the key turns them back on. Stay on 1:1 resolution DE4258 Sometimes AE mask looks incorrect when exporting an x-spline Some AE bezier masks can have unexpected curves when exporting from an x-spline layer DE4246 No insert preview on any other clip other than the original clip When a layer has an insert clip, you are unable to view it unless you are viewing the original tracking input clip on the canvas. 28
