3 INTRODUCTION OVERVIEW Hypermorph features four independent sound sources and an XY Morph Matrix that can blend, morph and mutate between each sound. The instrument is sampled from an array of modern analog and digital synthesizers featuring beefy oscillators, wavetables, textures and custom one-shots. At the core of Hypermorph is the XY Morph Matrix which can be moved manually to find the perfect balance of tones. Automatically morph your sound using Gravity, Draw, Click or Sequencer mode. INSTALLATION / ACTIVATION Register your product at SonicFaction.com for updates and special offers. ***BEFORE INSTALLING THE.ALP YOU DOWNLOADED FROM CONTINUATA: 1) FIRST, visit ableton.com to authorize your version of Hypermorph. 2) If necessary, login to your Ableton account. 3) Manually type your serial number into the fields and click Register Serial. 4) NOW, Double-click the Hypermorph by SonicFaction.alp to install the device into Live. 5) If you installed before authorizing: open Live s Preferences > Licenses tab and click Authorize at ableton.com to automatically authorize Hypermorph. NOTE: This is not necessary if you downloaded the pack from Ableton directly. If you downloaded the pack directly from Ableton, simply open the.alp to install Hypermorph. ***YOU MUST HAVE ABLETON LIVE 9.7 AND MAX FOR LIVE 7.3 TO USE Hypermorph. 3

4 NAVIGATION Once you have installed Hypermorph, you can find it using Live s built in browser by following the steps below: 1) Simply navigate to Packs located in the Places section and find the pack, Hypermorph by Sonic Faction. 2) Look inside the pack by hitting the disclosure triangle on the left side. 3) There you will see Audio Effects, MIDI Effects, Hypermorph Instrument and Sounds. For more information on each of the devices, view below. Places > Packs > Hypermorph by Sonic Faction 4

5 GETTING STARTED XY MORPHING Hypermorph is designed to morph between sounds and give you a blend between 4 different sounds. Using the different modes, you can blend different atmospheres, or chop your bass line into 4 sounds automatically. MODES XY Mode: The most basic mode, here you can drag the node in the Morph Matrix to blend between your sounds. Drag the node to a specific area to find a nice mix between your source sounds. Gravity Mode: Moving the Morph Node and releasing it causes it to bounce using physics emulation. Use this to apply a constant moving motion to your sound. Draw Mode: Click Learn and Draw a curve into the Morph Matrix. Once you release the mouse click, the mode will automatically turn on, and your drawn curve will play back. Click Mode: Click Learn and then click different spots on the Morph Matrix. Once you ve clicked all the positions you desire the Node to move to, click On. The Morph Node will now jump to the different positions in the Morph Matrix. Seq Mode: Allows you to arrange your source sounds using the sequencer located at the bottom of the device. Use this to achieve unique choppy rhythms and dynamically changing Morph patterns. 5

6 MAKING A SOUND Hypermorph uses 4 different sources, allowing you to blend together 4 different sounds. Sources 1 and 2 are identical while sources 3 and 4 are identical. As a getting started guide, this will show how to get a sound going with Source 1. SOURCE TAB The source tab is really the starting point for crafting your sound. Select different Engines to select between various tonal shaping oscillators. FILTER TAB Use the Filter tab to change filter types, apply an envelope to your filter cutoff, and adjust the velocity and key sensitivity of the filter cutoff. You can use the filter and envelope display to adjust the different controls. 6

7 ENV TAB Use Envelope tab to adjust your amp envelope, or apply a pitch envelope to your sound. You can use the envelope display to adjust the different controls. SHAPE TAB Use the different Shape controls to adjust the timbre of your sound by applying FM or AM Modulation. Drag the XY node around to adjust the the Modulation Amount and Modulating wave simultaneously. Use the Shape dial to control the amount of distortion applied to the sound. 7

8 LFO TAB Use the LFO tab to bring some modulations to your sound. Choose between a HZ rate and Sync rate, and select the modulation wave. Apply the modulation to the filter, amp, pan and pitch and use the attack control to have your modulation intensify over time. FX TAB Add new flavor to your sound by using the FX tab. Use the Saturator XY to adjust the gain and tone simultaneously. Use the Chorus XY to adjust the depth and rate simultaneously. Add a bit crushing effect using the Redux dial. Use the Ring Mod controls to add a phasing frequency shifting effect to your sound. 8

9 USING PRESETS Hypermorph has lot s of different presets that can be used globally, or on the each source. This allows you to be able to select global presets, and swap out different sounds for each source. Open the preset menus by clicking the sound wave symbol located above the global section, and in the corners of each source. RECALLING FACTORY PRESETS Once you have opened the preset menu, you can simply select a category from menu on the left, and a preset from the menu on the right. 9

10 SAVING USER PRESETS To save user presets, simply navigate to the User category and click save. You will then be prompted with a dialogue where you can name your preset. You can also overwrite or delete the currently selected preset using the Overwrite and Delete buttons. 10
