Be consistent if you choose this method. Always use the same percentage to calculate the price. Is this a good idea?

9 Is there an easy way to get account totals for estimating postage? Use the Mailing Counts under Mailing Reports. Provides summary of the # of accounts to be mailed. Only looks at Inactive, non deleted and non hold accounts. Counts each Mail To=Yes setting in the address section in Account Maintenance. Can optionally print a list of the number of accounts in each zip code in your county.

18 Doing Your Own Form 11 If you are going to do your own Form 11 you need to do these steps. Do not skip any

19 Doing Your Own Form 11 1) Print and Save the Form 11, Tax District Totals, Livestock Totals, Account Status. When saving the reports, I suggest adding the year and Form 11 to the file name Like 2013 Livestock (Form 11).PDF Save them in a place you will remember where they are. You only do this once a year, so it s easy to forget where they are stored.

I always make a backup copy just in case I ever have to do some type of comparison between Form 11 and Form 11a. I have never had to do this, but I would rather be safe than sorry.

23 Doing Your Own Form 11 5) Save a copy of your assessment book. It defaults saving as a PDF, so instead of printing it save it. Copy it to a CD or let the collector/clerk print it. This report is rather large save it to CD and save a tree.

24 Doing You Own Form 11 6) Export to Tax System a few counties still export their Form 11 information to the Administrative/Tax system. I would prefer to still do this. So, if you are a county that still does a transfer at Form 11, continue to have me help you with the Form 11 process.

25 Doing You Own Form 11 7) Finally recheck that the BOE manager is activated. Once you start making changes, and the BOE is not activated, there is no way to track the changes.

26 Beware Doing You Own Form 11a? Feel free to run and save the reports: Form 11a, Tax District Totals, Livestock, Account Status, BOE List, BOE Group List. However, if you turn off the BOE and do the export to the Tax Administrative System you are responsible. Once the BOE is turned off, there is nothing I can do to help you balance between the Tax System and Vanguard.

27 Beware Doing You Own Form 11a? If your Tax Admin company calls me and asks why a report does not match what they imported, there is no way for me to track down the problem. Why? I don t know what report they are talking about. Did all the reports balance with each other? I don t know what data was sent to them. Was the right data sent. Were the export options accidentally changed. Were the export files saved in the correct location. Are they processing last years files by accident.

28 Beware Doing You Own Form 11a? I make backup copies of everything: the reports, the database (with BOE), the export files sent. I make sure last years old files are cleared so they are not accidently reprocessed. I personally the company the reports: Form 11a, Tax Dist Totals, Livestock, and the export files. When they say they did not get the information, I just go to my , find the sent message, and resend it to them.

29 Beware Doing You Own Form 11a? I save a copy of all this at Vanguard. That way when the company calls me I can quickly find the issue is it something they did or I did without bothering you. Chances are if you needed a copy of your Form 11a from years past I have a copy. Finally, I can create the 2013 History. This you can easily do on your own. You just have to be sure the BOE manager is off, and that the transfer went ok to the Tax Administrative System.

36 Average VS Clean pricing? However, in 2015 the values can go up, just like they do now. NADA prices are tied to the market. So, as shortages to used cars caused by Cash for Clunkers and Natural Disasters continues, prices will continue to rise and fall. Truth is, the used car prices have always gone up and down. You just probably did not notice it as much because you did not have a tool like VCS Personal Property pointing it out.

37 Why are there? in the VIN? The question mark is just a place holder for a specific digit in the VIN. It usually, has to do with some type of feature on the vehicle. Our search routines do not use the full VIN provided by the Value Guide. Just the 1st 8 digits. Most of you probably paste VINs in from the Dept of Motor Vehicles right?

38 Why are the VINs still highlighted even after I paste in the VIN? The program is taking the VIN you entered and looks up the description from the Value Guide. The program then compares the current item vehicle description to the VIN vehicle description If the Make, Model, and Body do not all match, the field remains magenta.

So, how can there still be a problem? 1) The website you got the VIN from is wrong. 2) The Value Guide VIN or Vehicle Description is wrong. 3) The VIN on the reporting form is wrong. 4) The vehicle description on the reporting form is wrong. The point is, you have to assume something is right. Just be consistent.
