1 Access the site and register 1. Go to 2. Click on Register at the top center of the page. 3. Complete the registration form using your corporate address. 4. One you ve submitted your registration, a confirmation will be sent to the corporate address you provided. Click on the link and proceed to log in to the system. 5. To update your profile and settings at any time, access your account by clicking on My Account at the top of any APQC Web page. 6. Access to most content and benchmarking activities is members only, please make sure you are logged in every time you visit the APQC Web site. page 1

3 SEARCH FOR CONTENT Some search tips: To narrow a search, type the word and between each search term to retrieve records containing all of the words it separates, for example: my and phrase and here. 4 The Benchmarking Portal: Manage Your Benchmarking Activities Rapid Performance Assessments: use these short assessments to see where your clients stand on measures specifically selected as representative of process performance by our analysts. Open Standards Benchmarking: take your clients through a comprehensive performance assessment and receive a detailed report including peer comparisons. Use of the portal is free to members, you must be registered and logged in to the APQC Web site to access. page 4

5 1. Rapid Performance Assessments a. Visit the Rapid Performance Assessment section of the Benchmarking Portal (as shown on the previous page). b. Access prepackaged assessments at the bottom of the main screen. c. Choose your area of interest. Available areas include: i. Financial Management (FM) iii. Information Technology (IT) ii. Human Capital Management iv. Product Development (PD) (HCM) v. Supply Chain Management (SCM) d. Select the assessment you would like to take. Assessments are categorized by the PCF. e. View the list of measures to ensure this assessment will cover the pieces of information you want. f. Take the assessment. If this is your first time using the Benchmarking Portal, you will be asked to create a model for your client s organization or business entity and a participation instance for this particular benchmarking activity by answering a few profile questions. g. Upon submission, APQC may contact you to validate data that may need clarification. h. Upon completed validation, you will receive your report within two business days. i. 6 2. Open Standards Benchmarking Assessments: standards benchmarking assessments a. Scroll to the bottom of the page and choose the assessment that best fits your benchmarking needs. i. Start assessment will take you the online data collection tool. ii. Preview/print copy of assessment to view the questions. iii. View performance measures for a list of the measures and metrics included in the assessment report. (Note: you will only be provided data for questions you answer) iv. Access Excel data collection tool to provide to your clients as an aid in collection. v. View sample report to see an example of what to expect in the report. b. Upon submission, APQC will contact you within 3 4 business days with a validation . This will highlight any questions we have regarding data that may need clarification or correction. c. Responding as soon as possible to receive a report within the estimated two week timeframe. d. Upon completion of validation, you will receive your report after three or four days. page 6

7 Access Your Member Network Connect with thought leaders and peers through FIND A PEER 1. Visit the Knowledge Base: 2. Click Find a Peer in from the menu on the right, near the bottom of the page. 3. Select your desired criteria, you must choose a discipline. 4. Click Send to contact the individual (a blinded will be sent, your personal address will not be shared with the receiver).
