2 2.4 - Address Validation Requirements Input Rules for address entries: When a directional sign, (East/West), is included in an address, it is abbreviated, e.g. W 42 When a directional sign, (North.South), is actually the street name, it is spelled in full, e.g. South St. All street names are spelled in full, e.g. Richmond Hill Rd, not Rchmd Hl Rd. A thoroughfare is not abbreviated when it is a street name itself, e.g. Avenue Of The Americas. For Address Validation Response, we provide back a 5 character zip code. This is all that is ever needed for order purposes. On inbound forms, the CLEC's may provide either an address that meets the standards as outlined in this document or an address provided on an outound form as the result of a previous transaction. City (CITY): 32 Characters is the maximum length for city. No case sensitivity. Descriptive Address (AFT Value D): To validate a descriptive address, enter "D" in the AFT Field and the descriptive address in the SASN field. (e.g. Empire State Building) Provider Assigned House Number (AFT Value C): Provider Assigned House Number identifies a reference number assigned to an address in place of a house number when no house number has been established. When an address is unnumbered, if the Provider Assigned House Number is known enter "C" in the AFT field and the Provider Assigned House Number in the SANO field. The search is the same for a numbered Unnumbered Address (AFT Value B): To validate an unnumbered address, if the Provider Assigned House Number is not known, enter "B" in the AFT field and street name in the SASN field, and other address components if appropriate. Normal Physical Service Address Number (AFT Value N): Normal Physical Service Address Number is assigned to the address by the city, township or village. To validate, enter "N" in the AFT field, enter the Normal Service Address Number in the SANO field and the Service Address Street Name in the SASN field. Unnamed Street: To validate an address on an unnamed street, enter the following in the SASN space, space community name. Also enter "B" in the AFT field. AFT 1 Alpha PAM 0,1 B = Unnumbered C = Provider Assigned House Number D = Descriptive Identifies the format of the address being supplied. N = Normal Physical Service Address Number A value of "B" or "D" is required if the SASN is populated without the SANO field. ROUTE 6 Alpha/Numeric PAM 0,1 Identifies the route number of the service Required when SANO is not populated. Prohibited when SANO is populated. Required if BOX is populated, Page 3 9/24/2008

LV1 10 Alpha/Numeric PAM 0,1 Identifies the value associated with the first location designator of the LV1 will be used to identify the structure value of the end uder Required if LD1 is populated, otherwise prohobited.
