Function of alarm detection An SLD alarm is basically calculated and recorded only during the period of the SLD function, i. e. during a running SLD. For calculation of the SLD alarm, the temperature-compensated (= "Tc") volumes of individual tanks are used. The calculation is performed once a minute for all existing tanks. At the beginning of a (new) SLD test interval the saved and the measured Tc volumes are identically, so that "no alarm" is present first. An SLD alarm will be detected if the measured temperature-compensated volume falls with a limit value below the "Start-volume" registered at the start of the SDL. Example: At the beginning of the SLD a TC volume of 9000 litres is registered for tank 1. The SLD runs over a minimum period of two hours. For tank 1 an SLD alarm threshold of 200 litres has been set. Half an hour after starting the SLD, the system determines a TC volume of less than 8800 L. The measured temperature-compensated volume thus has fallen below the SLD start value by more than 200 L. An SLD alarm is detected. An SLD alarm is detected in analogy to the other level alarms and further treated: Database registration (start, end, confirmation) Indication and Confirmation in the alarm dialogue window (with alarm sound) Printout, automatically (if configured) Display for tank details, in the alarm window transmission (in category "level alarms", if configured) To stop an SLD alarm, the next SLD test must successfully be completed. SLD Alarm hysteresis: An existing SLD alarm is not be terminated immediately after (re-) exceeding the above alarm limit. The measured "TC" volume must increase by at least another 10% of the threshold parameter to terminate the alarm. If there are fluctuations of the measured values in the range of the SLD alarm limit volume, a needless frequency of SLD alarms is avoided. Example: As in the above example: SLD alarm occurs, SLD function runs for another 60 minutes. The limit parameter was configured with 200 L, 10% 20 litres The measured TCvolume again would have to increase to more than 8820 litres to terminate the SLD alarm during the run time of this test. 47 Password Main screen -> System functions -> Configuration -> Password With the password function two configuration options are available: Change Password Password protection for main screen Figure 32: Configuration - password configuration Change Password The password can be entered using the numeric keys or the lateral function keys. An asterisk character "*" is displayed for each digit of the password. In both input lines the password must be identical. The input line can be selected by touching on. The "active" input line is represented with a lighter background; further an angle bracket "<" on the right side indicates the active line and the cursor symbol " " flashes at the entry position. The input field "Password" is displayed in red characters when a character has been changed. A sequence of one (1) to a maximum of twelve (12) numbers is accepted as password. Factory setting is "22765". If the password has been changed and forgotten, the user may require a new password from FAFNIR for the access. VISY-SoftView Page 45/53

Password protection for the main screen This function allows a more rigorous protection of the main screen. Touching the "Main Window Password Protection" button opens the selection function for this parameter. Figure 33: Configuration - password main screen The "Description" text in the selection box indicates (shortly) the effect of the particular option. Entering the selection function, the line with currently active setting is displayed on a dark background. The default setting is "No". Select the desired option by touching the appropriate line or the side "arrow keys" and confirm with "OK". Option Description (long) No Yes All functions of the main screen can be accessed without entering a password. Only for opening the configuration menu the password is required to enter. With the exceptions "Tanks", "Home", "FAFNIR", "Cleaning" and "Mode" all functions of the main screen require to enter a password. By pressing "Cancel" or "OK" the selection box closes and the result is displayed in the "Main Screen Password Protection" input field. In the event of a change the button is displayed with a red frame. Press the button "Save" to save the new setting permanently. After successful saving, the button is displayed with a blue frame. With "Abort" the changes are discarded; in this case, the previously saved settings are shown. Page 46/53 VISY-SoftView

Control panel Main screen -> System functions -> Configuration -> Ctrl panel This function opens the standard Windows CE Control Panel. Figure 34: Windows CE Control Panel The default factory parameters here have a system-wide impact, and may only be changed if the user is fully familiar with the effects. Users require expert knowledge for this; if they do not have such knowledge, the functions of the Control Panel must not be used. (See also the Section on "Save Ctrl".) Turning off the backlight of the display The following settings can switch off the backlight of the display when not in use. This is often set in conjunction with the mode "TD Display" (Tank Driver display). (A) Windows CE Control Panel / Power Properties / "Schemes" (middle tab) Figure 35: Settings of the Energy Saving Mode VISY-SoftView Page 47/53

Power Scheme: AC Power Switch state to User Idle: After 30 minutes (if required, different time setting) Switch state to System Idle: Never Switch state to Suspend: Never After expiry of the defined time, when no operation is performed, the system switches with this setting to the "User Idle" mode. Finally, confirm with "OK". (B) Windows CE Control Panel / Display / Backlight (right tab) Figure 36: Display settings Confirm the checkbox: Automatically turn off backlight while on external power AND Turn off after 10 minutes of continuous idle time (or set another period) Finally, confirm by pressing OK (top right). Both the (a) and (b) settings are required to switch off the backlight in case of idle mode. The following two signals will switch on the backlight automatically or keep it enabled if the signals are registered before a timeout: Touching the screen Signals of the USB sensor (in TD Display mode) Page 48/53 VISY-SoftView

Network Settings 1. General To communicate over a network (LAN/Ethernet), it is necessary for the computers to use a common address space. The IP address consists of a "network part" and a "host part". The network part of IP address must match the local network. The host part of the IP address may occur only once in the network. Network part and host part are separated by the "Subnet mask". An IT administrator is generally responsible for managing the IP addresses. Ask the responsible employee for the necessary settings. 2. Network Settings Open the function for setting network parameters by a "double click" on the button "Network and Dial-up Connections". Open the Ethernet settings by a "double click" on the button "FEC1". "IP Address" tab for selecting and configuring the IP address Factory setting Figure 37: Network settings, IP address There are two options for assigning the IP address: Automatic assignment via DHCP Option "Obtain an IP address via DHCP " Manual entry of a fixed IP address Option: "Specify an IP address" VISY-SoftView Page 49/53

An IT administrator is generally responsible for managing the IP addresses. Ask the responsible employee for the necessary settings. If there is a network conflict, e. g. the same IP address is issued to more than one system in the network, this can cause major network problems. "Name Server" tab for setting the IP address(es) of the DNS servers Figure 38: Network settings, DNS server addresses When using the DHCP method, the IP addresses of the DNS servers are automatically assigned. In this field additional DNS server addresses can be entered. 3. Save settings Finally, save the network settings by pressing the OK button. (Top right) Closing the Control Panel Close the Windows CE Control Panel with the button (Top right). Page 50/53 VISY-SoftView

Save Ctrl Main screen -> System functions -> Configuration -> Save Ctrl This function is used to save the settings configured in the control panel permanently. All changes made in the control panel are lost at the next restart of the display module, unless the Save Ctrl button is pressed to save the changes permanently. List of figures Page 51/53
