Download "INSTRUCTIONS FOR CREATING A GROUP OR CLASS AND ENTERING STUDENT NAMES INTO LEARN360"

1 Type in APTPLUS Username and Password then click on Sign In. LOG ON TO Type APTLUS Username and Password into Sign-In box then click on Sign In to access the Learn360 service. NOTE: The next time you sign in the system will remember your Username and Password. See example on Page 2 of this tutorial. 1 Last Updated on November 18, 2011

2 Click on Go to My APTPLUS Media Services Page: to access Learn360. The second time a user signs in (after the initial sign in), the system will display a personalized greeting. Click on Go to My APTPLUS Media Services Page to access the databases in APTPLUS including Learn Last Updated on November 18, 2011

3 Click on the Learn360 icon to enter the Learn360 service. After clicking on Sign In indicted on Page 1 of this tutorial or after clicking on Go to My APTPLUS Media Services Page as indicated on Page 2 of this tutorial, click on LEARN360 to enter the Learn360 service. 3 Last Updated on November 18, 2011

4 Click on MyLearn360 Tab Click on MyLearn360 tab to access the features of Learn360 that will enable student names to be entered into the service. 4 Last Updated on November 18, 2011

5 Click on My Groups Tab Click on the My Groups tab as noted above. 5 Last Updated on November 18, 2011

6 Click on User Group or Class. Type in a name for the Group or Class and click next. Create a User Group or Class by clicking on the circle next to your choice. Then type in a Name for the User Group or Class. You may enter a time and description if you like but neither is required. Then click on NEXT. 6 Last Updated on November 18, 2011

7 Click on SAVE INFORMATION After completing the steps in the previous illustration, you will see the page above. Because no names have been entered into the Group or Class at this point, do nothing but click on SAVE INFORMATION to save the Group or Class created. 7 Last Updated on November 18, 2011

8 Click on Add New User After saving the information, the system will return to the page above. Now you are ready to add Users (students) to the Group or Class you created. To do so, click on Add New User. Note: A teacher s name may be added to a group or class but the system will read the entry as a student. Thus, as a member of a Group/Class, a teacher would receive student-level permissions or functionality rather than teacher-level permissions or functionality. 8 Last Updated on November 18, 2011

9 Select a Username and Password and type into appropriate boxes. Type in student s first and last name. Highlight User Group and click on Save Information. To add a User (student) to the Group or Class you created, give the User (student) a unique Username and Password. We recommend using the same name as both a Username and Password. For example, if the student s name is Joe Jones, you could enter joejones as the Username and Password. Then enter joe for the first name and jones for the last name. CAVEAT: If two students have the same name, you MUST differentiate the two names by including a middle initial or other distinguishing mark. If the exact name is entered twice under the same school location, the second entry will override the first. Remove the checkmark in the Use Security Question box by clicking on the box to remove the checkmark. You do NOT need an Alternate Name or an address. Do not check the box next to Force Password Reset. Next, highlight the name of your Group or Class in the User Group box and click SAVE INFORMATION. Another option is to select a generic Username and Password such as scienceclass. If you choose this option, you MUST also select a generic first and last name which you would give to all of the students in lieu of a unique Username and Password with unique first and last names as illustrated above. For example, if the generic Username/Password is scienceclass, the generic first name could be science and the generic last name 9 Last Updated on November 18, 2011

10 could be class. The selection of a unique Username/Password or a generic Username/Password will impact the distribution, completion and submission of online assignments. Click open the Group then click on Members After entering the names of your Users (students) into your chosen Group, return to the My Groups list and click open the Group by clicking on the yellow box next to the Group name. 11 Search for student s name by first or last name, click on name, then click on Save Information. After clicking open Members, search the database by first or last name. You will see the names of the Users (students) you entered into the Group. Click on the box next to the student s name and click SAVE INFORMATION. 11 Last Updated on November 18, 2011

12 Information entered into the system was saved successfully. The system will notify you that the information was successfully saved. You are now ready to distribute assignments that you created in Learn360 to the names (either unique or generic) you entered into the system. You must give the students the Username and Password you created for them. They can then enter the service by logging on to and typing in the Username and Password you gave them to search the database for resources and content or take an online assignment that you created and distributed to them. Students also can create playlists, slideshows and bookmark their favorite videos in the accounts you created for them. REMEMBER: TEACHERS MUST ENTER LEARN360 BY LOGGING ON TO BUT STUDENTS MUST ENTER THE SERVICE DIRECTLY BY LOGGING ON TO 12 Last Updated on November 18, 2011
