1 PCB UPDATE 2019 RCS PCB Management & Record-keeping Workshops Attached is your packet for the 2019 RCS Regional Workshops. Included are the workshop locations and hotel information as well as workshop agenda and registration form. There are two new locations for 2019: St. Louis, MO, and Ontario, CA. Also, the Nebraska workshop is being moved from Grand Island to Lincoln this year (due to lack of adequate meeting room space). Important new topics will be covered including updates on State Environmental Agencies that are now providing resources and inspectors for EPA Regional Offices. RCS In-House Line Crew Spill Response Workshops Last year, we announced a new educational class designed specifically for utility linemen on the important topic of PCB & Non-PCB spills response. Several utilities contacted us to schedule this in-house training with many utilizing the course to meet ongoing annual educational requirements. The agenda for these classes is customized specifically to address issues that directly pertain to linemen and how they respond, contain and report spills in the field as well as personal protection, collection of information, photographing the site, transporting damaged equipment and, in some instances, securing the site overnight to reduce potential liabilities. The majority of these training sessions we have held in conjunction with the utility s regular 30-day safety meetings. The class is short in duration (typically hours) and, if requested, can be held in two repeat sessions to facilitate limiting out-of-the-field work duties. Attached is a Request for Information form if you would like more specifics and/or want to discuss scheduling a class for your personnel (and possibly other invited sister utilities in your area). 4 Workshop Locations & Hotel Reservations Utility delegates from Alaska to Florida attend RCS training workshops each year and space is limited. Be sure to make your workshop and hotel reservations as early as possible to secure your registration. Sleeping room reservations should be made directly with the hotel at least 30 days in advance to guarantee that you receive the discounted rate.
