1 Section 1 Click Instructions Talking Points 1. This tutorial will cover Split testing with ClickDimensions Sends. You must have already created your Send and added recipients. If you haven't, see the links below the tutorial to learn about those first. Split testing means that you can send out a portion of your s with certain information and then a second with similar but slightly different information to other recipients. Then based on the results of those two, you can send the winning template to the remaining recipients. 2. To get started click on Split Testing at the top. Created 8/10/2012 Page 1

2 3. The Split Testing wizard will open. And on the left you will see the details of the Send you've created, which is automatically Strategy A and you cannot edit this information here. 4. On the right side is the information for Strategy B. You must edit at least one of the top fields, Subject, From Name, or From Address. Created 8/10/2012 Page 2

4 7. It's now changed to 8. Choose a new template You can also change the template you send out for the content of the . Created 8/10/2012 Page 4

5 9. Click the lookup field Click on the lookup field to find a template. 10. Click to enter search criteria Select or search for the Template you want to use. Created 8/10/2012 Page 5

9 17. Here is where you set the size of the test groups and winner group, as well as what will determine the winning strategy and how that will be sent. To change the size of the groups slide the black bar. 18. You can see that the group A got bigger. Now, normally you'd have a lot more recipients than this when you're using Split Testing, so you'd be able to manipulate these numbers a little more. But let s slide it back. 10 19. Now set the Winning Strategy. 20. Choose Unique Click Rate The winning strategy can be based on the most clicks or the most opens. Let s choose Clicks. Created 8/10/2012 Page 10

11 21. Choose Yes You can choose to send the winning strategy out when you're ready, or have the winning strategy chosen automatically after a certain amount of time. Let's have it sent automatically. 22. Next choose the unit of time you want to pass before the winning is sent. Created 8/10/2012 Page 11

12 23. Choose Hours Your choices are Hours, Days, or Weeks. Let's choose Hours this time. 24. Next you would enter an amount of time. Created 8/10/2012 Page 12

13 25. Click Save. We'll do 5 hours. Now you can Save and Send directly from here or Save and go back to the Send record. 26. Choose Split Test Preferences Within the Send you can also see the information we just entered in the wizard. Just click on Split Test Preferences on the left. Created 8/10/2012 Page 13
