3 Getting Started Checking Available Storage Space The Mazda Sales X App requires at least 1.1 GB of storage space on your device. A full installation with all videos will require about 14 GB of storage space. If you are not sure how much storage is available, follow the steps below. 1. 5 4. Note the amount of storage listed on the Available line 5. If you need to free up more storage on your ipad, one thing you can do is remove apps you don t use, want or need anymore. Tap Manage Storage to see a list of installed apps sorted by each app s size in descending order. 7 Setting Landscape Orientation The Mazda Sales X App has been optimized for and can only be viewed in landscape orientation. See below for how to lock the ipad orientation to landscape. 1. Swipe up from the bottom of the screen to view the system tray. 2. Hold the ipad in a landscape position and touch the orientation lock button. The button will display its locked state. 8 Downloading and Installing the App 1. From the ipad Home screen, open the Apple App Store (the page the Settings app is on may vary from one device to another). Alternatively, here is a direct hyperlink to the Mazda Sales X App in the Apple App Store ( that will allow you to go straight to the app listing. Search for Mazda Sales using the Search bar in the upper right. Type mazda sales and tap the Search button on the virtual keyboard. Updated: 10/30/2015 Page 8 of 79

9 Here are the current Search results for mazda sales. Tap the GET button and then the INSTALL button to begin downloading and installing the Mazda Sales X App. You may be prompted for your AppleID username and password before you are able to download and install the app. Updated: 10/30/2015 Page 9 of 79

10 The app will be installed to one of your ipad Home screen pages. When the download and installation has completed, you can tap OPEN to open the app directly from the Apple App Store. Or you can return to your Home screen, find the page where the Mazda SalesX icon is located, and tap that icon to launch the app for the first time. If you tap the app listing itself and not the GET button, the full app description will be opened onscreen. You can tap GET and then INSTALL to install the app after viewing the description and screen captures and other app information. Updated: 10/30/2015 Page 10 of 79

13 Using the Mazda Sales X App Launching the App 1. Find the Mazda Sales X icon on your Home screen (you may need to change pages) and tap the icon. 2. After the initial startup screen, you will be presented with the Sign On screen. Updated: 10/30/2015 Page 13 of 79

14 3. Enter your Web Security Logon (WSL) username and password. Then, tap SIGN IN. Note: The app may need seconds to sign you in for the very first time. You will need to sign in again if the Mazda Sales X App becomes inactive after 60 minutes and/or you do not have an active Internet connection for and Comparison functionality. 4. 15 App Interface Home Screen 1. Mazda logo/home button Tapping this will take you to the Home screen. 2. Current Section This tells you what section you are currently viewing (e.g., Welcome/Home, Find Your Mazda, 2016 Mazda CX-5 Safety). 3. Car Finder Menu/Car Details Menu This is used to filter selections for the Find Your Mazda section. This is also used to navigate from one vehicle section to another after a Mazda model has been selected in the Find Your Mazda section. 4. Global Navigation Menu (a.k.a. Hamburger Menu) This menu can be used to access nonmodel-specific sections from anywhere in the app at any time. It also contains links to Log Out of the app and Download Settings. 5. External Awards/Accolades Link This hyperlink directs the user to a featured brand award/accolade. Mazda ranked second in Consumer Reports 2015 Car Brand Report Cards. The customer can watch the video embedded on the web page and read the article to learn more. This will be changed as needed. A hyperlink for our annual Mazda Drive for Good campaign will also be placed here or in another section of the Home screen. 6. Find Your Mazda This will take you to the Find Your Mazda screen to select a Mazda. 7. Forward Arrow This will also take the user to the Find Your Mazda screen. A right to left swipe also performs the same action. 8. Presentation Videos This button is a quick shortcut to the Presentation Videos section. Accessing the Presentation Videos section this way allows the user to quickly get to a model s presentation videos faster than selecting a Mazda model first. 9. Test Drive This button takes the user to the Test Drive section where the user can show the usual test drive route for the dealership and the different characteristics of the route. Tapping on the icon next to the dealership name and address will open up the dealership s location in Apple Maps. Updated: 10/30/2015 Page 15 of 79

16 10. Perfect Delivery This button is a quick shortcut to the Perfect Delivery section. Accessing the Perfect Delivery section this way allows the user to quickly get to a model s Perfect Delivery pages faster than selecting a Mazda model first. 11. Mazda Awards This button takes the user to Mazda brand Awards & Reviews. Model-specific Awards & Reviews are not here; they are accessed by selecting a Mazda model first. 12. SKYACTIV TECHNOLOGY Tapping this button takes the user to the SKYACTIV TECHNOLOGY module of the app. There, the user can learn about Mazda s suite of technologies that comprise SKYACTIV TECHNOLOGY. 13. The Dealership This section contains information about the dealership that you can share with the customer to communicate the advantages of buying a new Mazda from there. 14. About Mazda Videos about Mazda s history and heritage can be viewed in this section. Car Finder Menu/Find Your Mazda Filter Using the Car Finder Menu/Find Your Mazda Filter, you can select the Mazda model/carline you want by filtering the Mazda lineup in multiple ways. 19 The Global Navigation Menu contains the same links located in the footer area of the Home screen. This menu remains the same during your session regardless of what section you are viewing. In the lower half of the menu, there are three links you should also be familiar with. 1. Logout Make sure you use the Logout function to log out of the app so other users can log into the app with their WSL credentials. Failure to do so will result in incorrect usage tracking and reporting for each individual. This is extremely important if the Mazda Sales X App/iPad is shared by more than one user. 2. Download Settings The Download Settings section enables you to download videos for offline playback. This is extremely helpful if your ipad does not always have a fast and consistent Wi- Fi/active Internet connection. Using this capability will require more storage space on your ipad. 3. Product Disclaimers This is an Acrobat PDF containing a list of disclaimers that apply to any footnotes seen throughout the app. There are also buttons to Print the current section and Add to Mailbox/Go to Mailbox, if available, for the current section. 20 Downloading Videos for Offline Playback One of the greatest features of the Mazda Sales X App is the ability to play videos even when the ipad is not connected to the Internet. To download videos for offline playback, go to the Global Navigation Menu and tap Download Settings. Here is the Download Settings screen. Tap the arrow to expand the Perfect Delivery or Presentation Videos level. Updated: 10/30/2015 Page 20 of 79

22 Tap the switch for the model/carline videos you would like to download. Note: Only one set of videos can be downloaded at a time in the initial app release. Updated: 10/30/2015 Page 22 of 79

23 If you try to download another set while one is downloading, you will be informed that only one set of videos can be downloaded at a time. Updated: 10/30/2015 Page 23 of 79

24 After a video set has been downloaded, its model/carline name will turn red. To delete a video set from the ipad, tap the switch so it slides to the left. You will be asked to confirm your request to delete the video set. Updated: 10/30/2015 Page 24 of 79

25 After deletion, the model/carline name reverts to its default black font color. Please note the following. We are working on having the switches on higher levels so you don t have to tap each model/carline you want to download. Instead, you ll be able to select an entire model year, the entire Perfect Delivery section, the entire Presentation Videos section and even the entire ALL VIDEOS. You may experience difficulty downloading the videos if your Internet connection s downstream speed is less than 5 Mbps. If you are unsure of your connection speed, you may want to download Updated: 10/30/2015 Page 25 of 79

26 and install the Speedtest.net Mobile Speed Test by Ookla app from the Apple App Store. We recommend you keep the app active and refrain from locking your ipad while videos are being downloaded. We recommend that the Background App Refresh setting is turned on for the app (Mazda SalesX). You can check this by going to Settings -> General -> Background App Refresh in ios 8 and ios 9. If you need to switch to another app, a video set download will not complete if less than 1% has been downloaded. If the download process stalls, double tap the Home button on your ipad and close the app by swiping it away. Relaunch the app and proceed to the Download Settings section. 27 Selecting a Mazda Model/Carline There are multiple ways to select a Mazda from the app s Home screen. See which works best for you. 1. Tap the FIND YOUR MAZDA button. You will be taken to the Vehicle Selection screen. 2. Tap the right arrow located on the right edge of the Home screen. You will be taken to the same Vehicle Selection screen as method #1. 28 3. You can also swipe from right to left on the Home screen to access the Vehicle Selection screen. Viewing Model/Carline Information Upon selecting a model, you will be taken to the Vehicle Landing/Color Selection section. Updated: 10/30/2015 Page 28 of 79

29 1. Back Tapping this button functions the same as a right-to-left swipe. We intend to update this in a future release to function as a Back button like ones you are familiar with in a web browser. 2. Mazda logo This logo functions as Home button. Tapping this will return you to the Home screen. 3. Car Details Menu This menu allows you to quickly access vehicle information. This will be covered in more detail later in this guide. 4. Global Navigation Menu Tapping this reveals the Global Navigation Menu. 5. Presentation Videos Tap this to access the Presentation Videos for the currently active model/carline. 6. Color Selection Tap an exterior color chip to change the exterior body color of the featured image. Updated: 10/30/2015 Page 29 of 79

30 Accessing the Car Details Menu Scroll down to see the rest of the sections available through the Car Details Menu. The Car Details Menu contains links to model/carline-specific sections of product information. Users familiar with the previous version of the Mazda Sales App will recognize that these are the sections that were accessed using the Product Info footer button and the Perfect Delivery footer button. There are also buttons to Print the current section and Add the current section to the Mailbox/Go to the Mailbox. Accessing the Global Navigation Menu Updated: 10/30/2015 Page 30 of 79

31 The Global Navigation Menu here is exactly the same as the Global Navigation Menu previously detailed in this guide. Viewing Model/Carline Product Information From the Vehicle Landing/Color Selection section, you can access model/carline product information by using the Car Details Menu or swiping right to left, which would take you to the Colors section. The example below shows you the 2016 Mazda CX-5 Styling & Design section. Updated: 10/30/2015 Page 31 of 79

32 Each hotspot has supporting copy and an image or images detailing a feature or features. Tap on a hotspot s ellipsis to bring up a lightbox containing more information about that particular feature. This is an example of a product feature lightbox. Note: Information displayed in these boxes cannot be ed to a customer, but their contents are included in the section (e.g., Styling & Design) information that can be ed. When you are done viewing information in the lightbox, tap the <X> in the upper right corner to close the box. To navigate to another product info section, use the Car Details Menu or swipe left or right. Updated: 10/30/2015 Page 32 of 79

33 Swiping from right to left will advance you to the next product info section, which would be the same as selecting the menu item right below the current section you are viewing (e.g., this will take you from the Styling & Design section to Performance section). Swiping from left to right takes you to the previous product info section (e.g., this will take you from Styling & Design to Accessories). Updated: 10/30/2015 Page 33 of 79

34 ing Product Information To product information to a customer, use the icon that looks like an envelope in the lower right corner of the Car Details Menu or Global Navigation Menu. The functionality of each is identical. Using the Car Details Menu example Tap <ADD TO > You will receive a confirmation that the current section has been added to the Mailbox. 36 In the upper left corner, you can see how many items have been placed in the Mailbox. Each item is represented by a check in that item s selection box. In addition to using the <ADD TO > functionality in the Car Details Menu or Global Navigation Menu, you can also select (and deselect) additional sections to be ed right from the Mailbox. Confirm the product information you want to to the customer by selecting and de-selecting sections in the list. When complete, tap the <SEND> button. After tapping <SEND> on the Mailbox screen, the form will appear for you to complete. Fill it out and tap <SEND> to links to Acrobat PDFs the customer can view on his or her computer or mobile device. Please note the required fields denoted with an asterisk. 37 NOTE: If the current Mazda Sales X App session is more than an hour old or if an active Internet connection is not present, you will not be able to information to a customer and will be prompted to sign in again with your WSL credentials. The app currently does not remember the information that was typed into the form prior to an unsuccessful submission. Because of this, please record the customer s information in another app, device or paper first to avoid asking the customer for his or her information a second time. 39 Printing Product Information The same information you can to your customers can also be printed from your ipad to your dealership s network printer. To print product information, tap the Print icon that looks like a printer in the lower right corner of the Car Details Menu or the Global Navigation Menu. 43 Using the Competitive Comparison Tool The Mazda Sales X App has a Competitive Comparison Tool powered by third-party data provided by Chrome Data. To foster customer trust, it is helpful to mention that this data is used to show information in a transparent manner. This is great for showing the customer how the Mazda they are considering compares to other vehicles. An active Internet connection is required to use the Competitive Comparison tool because data needs to be retrieved from the Chrome Data database based on the selected vehicles. NOTE: If the current Mazda Sales X App session is more than an hour old or if an active Internet connection is not present, you will not be able to access the comparison tool on your first attempt and will be prompted to sign in again with your WSL credentials. The app currently does not remember the vehicle or section you were in before it prompts you to sign in again. Because of this, you may want to make sure your app session is less than an hour old and that your ipad has an active Internet connection before attempting to use the comparison tool. We plan to address this in an upcoming release to improve the user experience for you and the customer. The Competitive Comparison tool can be accessed from the Car Details Menu or swiping through different product information sections. Here is the initial Competitive Comparison tool screen for a 2016 Mazda CX-5. The initial screen will always default to the base trim of the active/selected vehicle. In this case, it is the 2016 Mazda CX-5 Sport MT FWD. The first thing you should do is change the trim to match the trim your customer is considering. Please note that data from Chrome Data does not include package (e.g., Technology Package, i-activsense Package, Premium Package, etc.) data. Tap the arrow in the upper right corner of the Mazda vehicle box to change the model/carline and trim. Updated: 10/30/2015 Page 43 of 79

44 In the default view, all categories are collapsed. Let s change the primary vehicle to a 2016 Mazda CX-5 Grand Touring AT AWD. Tap the <MODEL> drop-down box. Next, select CX-5. Updated: 10/30/2015 Page 44 of 79

47 If you tap the <EXPAND ALL> button, you can see specifications and features side-by-side. Advantages for Mazda vehicles are denoted by the check mark symbol next to the spec or feature. Tapping on the <MAZDA ADVANTAGES> tab in the header will change the screen to show only the Mazda advantages between the two to four vehicles involved in the comparison. 48 Be extremely careful when pointing out Mazda advantages. A Mazda advantage check mark symbol will be displayed if the Mazda spec or feature is better than at least one of the competitors. For example, the engine displacement of the 2016 Mazda CX-5 Grand Touring AWD s SKYACTIV -G 2.5L inline-4 engine is 2,488 cc, which is greater than the displacement of the 2015 Honda CR-V Touring AWD s 2.4L inline-4 (2,356 cc), but less than the displacement of the engine in the 2015 Toyota RAV4 Limited AWD (2,494 cc) and equal to the displacement of the engine in the 2015 Nissan Rogue SL AWD. Other things to look out for include: When the Mazda vehicle has manual air conditioning shown as an advantage over a competitor that doesn t have it because the competitor has automatic air conditioning When the Mazda vehicle has halogen headlights shown as an advantage over a competitor that doesn t have them because the competitor has Xenon or LED headlights Note: A planned future update will have the tab automatically switch from Feature & Spec Comparison to Mazda Advantages as soon as a second vehicle is selected. Tapping the <PHOTO COMPARISON> tab will change the tool to the Photo Comparison screen. Here, you can view different angles of all the vehicles being compared simultaneously. 51 Viewing Presentation Videos Showing customers presentation videos is a great way to make wait time productive! A regular opportunity to show a customer these is while the vehicle he or she is interested in is being retrieved (if it hasn t been already) or while he or she is waiting to test drive the vehicle. These videos can show customers features that they may not have explicitly communicated during the needs assessment or product presentation process. There are three ways to access Presentation Videos using the Car Details Menu, Home screen footer button or Global Navigation Menu. To access the current model/carline s Presentation Videos, tap the Car Details Menu. Then, tap Presentation Videos. If Presentation Videos are accessed from the Home screen or Global Navigation Menu, you will need to select the model/carline you want to show Presentation Videos for. 55 Viewing Test Drive Route Information The Mazda Sales X App has a section you can use to show customers the test drive route around your dealership and the different things they will experience on the route. To access the Test Drive section, you can tap on the Test Drive button in the footer of the Home screen or you can select Test Drive from the Global Navigation Menu. Here is the Test Drive section. 56 The main graphic provides a general bird s eye view look at your dealership s test drive route. Tapping the Apple Maps icon opens the Apple Maps app with your dealership pinned as the center location. You can use this to zoom in on certain areas to discuss specific parts of the test drive route in more detail. If your dealership does not have a test drive route graphic displayed, one may not have been provided to Mazda s IT team yet. To request a graphic, map your test drive route in Google Maps and send the complete URL to the Mazda Help Desk stating you would like it to be converted into a graphic for the Mazda Sales X App. Updated: 10/30/2015 Page 56 of 79

57 Viewing Awards & Reviews The Mazda Sales X App has model/carline-level and brand-level awards and reviews that can be shared with your customers. The model/carline-level awards and reviews can be accessed by selecting Awards & Reviews from the Car Details Menu. The brand-level awards can be accessed from the Home screen or by selecting Mazda Awards from the Global Navigation Menu. Updated: 10/30/2015 Page 57 of 79

60 Using the Perfect Delivery Section The Perfect Delivery section is extremely useful for making customer wait time productive when the person is waiting for F&I or for their new vehicle to be prepared. If your dealership has a Delivery Specialist, this section can be one of their main aids. A digital version of Smart Start Guide (SSG) topics provides app users with easy-to-read information about operating various vehicle features. Feature videos can be ed to new owners for future reference. An excellent example is a person's spouse can pair his or her phone and learn to use the MAZDA CONNECT infotainment system by watching videos instead of needing to learn from the purchaser or struggling to figure it out on his or her own. This section can also be used to show customers information about specific features in more detail at any point in the sales process. You can access the Perfect Delivery section through the Car Details Menu, the footer button on the Home screen Updated: 10/30/2015 Page 60 of 79

61 When you arrive to the Perfect Delivery section, you will need to choose the model/carline (this value is preselected if accessed through the Car Details Menu) and trim/package of the customer s new Mazda. Updated: 10/30/2015 Page 61 of 79

62 Or you can enter the vehicle s VIN. Please note the VIN lookup is not able to look up a vehicle s package information, if equipped. The VIN lookup also requires an active Internet connection. There is also an Introduction to Service video that you can show new Mazda owners. It provides a quick introduction to the service department that shares the benefits of servicing his or her new Mazda at a Mazda dealership. Just tap the link in the upper left corner to play the video. After selecting a model/carline and trim/package OR entering a VIN, tap the <SUBMIT> button. Updated: 10/30/2015 Page 62 of 79

63 The next part of the Perfect Delivery section contains vehicle info split into three sub-sections: Essential Information, Technology Information and General Information. Essential Information Operation of features listed here is essentially required to operate your vehicle. Technology Information Features listed here are technological features such as Blind Spot Monitoring, Rear Cross Traffic Alert, Smart City Brake Support, Smart Brake Support and other advanced features that aren t essential to vehicle operation, but are helpful for the customer to know about. General Information Features listed in this sub-section are generally items most customers are able to operate without assistance such as headlights and windshield wipers. 64 1. Smart Start Guide (SSG) Topic Tap on the feature name without any video playback icon or check box to open the digital Smart Start Guide topic for that feature. 2. Feature Video Tap on the video playback icon or the feature name next to the icon to begin playback of a feature video. 3. Video Send to Mailbox Tap on a check box to select a video to be ed to the customer. There is no limit to the number of check boxes you can select. 4. Technology Information Tap this tab to access the Technology Information sub-section. 5. General Information Tap this tab to access the General Information sub-section. 6.
