2 INTRO AND IMPORTANT NOTICES The purpose of this document is to help device manufacturers create a profile and onboard their devices in the Azure Certified for IoT device catalog. For any questions around the process, please contact the Azure Certified for IoT support team at iotcert@microsoft.com. STEP 1: CREATE A PARTNER PROFILE Before you add your device, you need to create a partner profile in our system. This partner profile represents your company in the catalog. Instructions: 1. Click on Become a partner on the device catalog landing page (top right) 2. On that page, click on Get started 3. Fill out the form details. Important notes about this form: a. Your company must be either an organizational account (linked to Active Directory) or a Microsoft account. If you are unsure of what this is, please visit here for more information. You can create a Microsoft account here. b. Company logo should be no bigger than 100KB and 300x300 pixels. This is to optimize the catalog s loading time. c. If you have an MPN or Pinpoint ID, please include them in your profile. It will help us keep track of your different profiles at Microsoft. 4. After signing up, you will receive an from the Azure Certified for IoT to activate your account. Please click on it to perform the activation. (Note: if you haven t received it in 5 minutes, check your junk box). 5. Once activated, you can login your by clicking on Partner dashboard link at the top right. Not that any devices your company decides to include in the catalog should be included under the same profile, unless there s a business reason for it. For example, if your company has two different units that commercialized devices under different branding (Contoso Gateways and Contoso Device), you may create to partner profiles. Note: to add another user to your specific partner profile so more people can add devices, please contact iotcert@microsoft.com STEP 2: ADDING YOUR DEVICE 1. Login to the partner dashboard (top right of device catalog landing page) 2. Click on the + sign to add your device. The device form will appear. 3. Device registration form has 5 parts. Please navigate through them. You can come back to the form before submission any time you want, it will be saved as a draft. Example: CE, Wi-Fi, FCC, etc. Our customers report this item as one of the key elements for choosing an IoT device, so we encourage you to include as many as possible. STEP 3: STEPS AFTER SUBMITTING THE DEVICE After you submit your device, the Certified for IoT support team will review your request and send you the appropriate instructions by . After this, you should send the certification results to iotcert@microsoft.com. Once the results are validated, your device will automatically show in the catalog. You will receive an notification on this. 6 TROUBLESHOOTING I HAVEN T RECEIVED THE ACTIVATION AFTER SIGNING UP Check your junk inbox to ensure your company s policy hasn t moved the message there. If the is not there, try signing up again. I DON T HAVE A WORK ACCOUNT LINKED TO AZURE ACTIVE DIRECTORY (AD) Most companies use work accounts that are link in one way or another to AD. For example, if you have an Azure account or an Office 365 account, those are linked to AD and you ll be able to use them here.
