INTRODUCTION Telkom Internet has introduced a Telkom Internet Service Management Tool (TI SMT) tool to replace what was formerly kwon as Mailbox Activator, whereby customers can activate or deactivate the electronic mailboxes, and Dynamic DNS linked to their account. The Telkom Internet Service Management Tool can be accessed through the following URL: The following important points must be noted: A customer cannot enable or disable the Dynamic DNS not linked to his/her account. All new customer accounts will be in a disabled or inactive status when a customer joins Telkom Internet and the customer will only be able to utilize the Dynamic DNS service once he/she activates the service on the Telkom Internet Service Management Tool (SMT). 2. HOW TO USE THIS MANUAL Contents of the manual: Section 3: Mailbox Activator shows how you can activate and/or deactivate the mailbox (es) linked to your Telkom Internet account Section 4: Shows error messages that can be displayed while activating or deactivating a mailbox Section 5: Dynamic DNS Activator shows how you can enable and/or disable the Dynamic DNS linked to your Telkom Internet account Section 6: Shows error messages that can be displayed while enabling or disabling Dynamic DNS. Section 7: User Support provides the contact number for Telkom Internet Support 3

4 3. MAILBOX ACTIVATOR The Telkom Internet Service Management Tool has a component called Mailbox Activator tool whereby customers can activate or deactivate the electronic mailboxes linked to their account. This means that in cases where a customer has more than one electronic mailbox but only requires the use of one, for example, the customer can deactivate the other electronic mailboxes. This will ensure that he/she uses the correct electronic mailbox and/or alias on the account and prevent mails been delivered to the incorrect address. This puts the customer in full control of how he/she wants to use the electronic mailbox (es). Should a customer have more than one electronic mailbox and want to activate more than one then the same scenarios apply; this tool gives you, the customer, the ability to determine how many mailboxes you actually need and use. The following important points must be noted: A customer cannot enable or disable mailboxes not linked to his/her account. In the event that additional mailboxes are required, you can order it via the sales channel provided. All new customer accounts will be in a disabled or inactive status when a customer joins Telkom Internet and the customer will only be able to receive and send s once he/she activates the mailbox (es) needed. Figure 1 shows the Telkom Internet Service Management Tool Login page. To log in you will need your Telkom Internet AllAccess username and password. 5 After successfully logging in, the Manage your Mailboxes page (shown in Figure 2) will be displayed. Figure 2 Manage your Mailboxes Select the checkbox(es) for mailboxes you wish to activate or deactivate. Then click on the Submit button. The activation or deactivation process is initiated and Figure 3 is displayed. Figure 3 Activation of mailbox 5

6 Once your mailbox is active you can log into it via domessaging. Figure 4 displays the login page for domessaging. To login, you must enter the Telkom Internet address (with its corresponding password) of the mailbox which you activated on the Mailbox Activator Tool. ERROR MESSAGES FOR MAILBOX ACTIVATOR The following are possible error messages that can be displayed while trying to activate or deactivate your mailbox. If you do not supply a valid username with a corresponding password to login then an error message will display (Figure 7) Figure 7 Login error message 7

DYNAMIC DNS ACTIVATOR The Telkom Internet Service Management Tool has a component called Dynamic DNS Activator tool whereby customers can enable or disable the Dynamic DNS service linked to their account. The following important points must be noted: A customer cannot enable or disable the Dynamic DNS not linked to his/her account. All new customer accounts will be in a disabled or inactive status when a customer joins Telkom Internet and the customer will only be able to utilize the Dynamic DNS service once he/she activates the service on the Telkom Internet Service Management Tool (TI SMT). 10 After successfully logging in, click Dynamic DNS Activator Under the My Tools panel (Figure 11) will be displayed. Figure 11: The Dynamic DNS Activator Page To enable Dynamic DNS, tick the Enable DDNS check box and click the SUBMIT button (as shown in figure 12) Figure 12: Enable Dynamic DNS page 10

11 After clicking the SUBMIT button, the Dynamic DNS will be activated (as shown in figure 13) Figure 13: Enabled Dynamic DNS page To disable the Dynamic DNS Service, click the Disable DDNS check box and click the SUBMIT Figure 14: Disable Dynamic DNS page 11

12 After clicking the SUBMIT button, the Dynamic DNS service will be disabled/inactive (see figure 15) Figure 15: Disabled Dynamic DNS page 6. ERROR MESSAGES FOR DYNAMIC DNS The following are possible error messages that can be displayed while trying to enable or disable your Dynamic DNS.
