2 Below is the information you will need to access your WorkScheduleDotNet online scheduling account. DOCUMENT THE NEW PASSWORD CAREFULLY FOR YOUR RECORDS. IMPORTANT: WHEN CHANGING YOUR PASSWORD, REMEMBER TO USE A NUMERIC PASSWORD IF YOU INTEND TO USE THE SCHEDULING HOTLINE TO CHECK YOUR SCHEDULE BY PHONE. If you encounter issues with the WorkScheduleDotNet online scheduling system, you should contact a supervisor at the Center for Opinion Research for assistance. 4 Getting Started The Center for Opinion Research (COR) uses an online application provided by WorkScheduleDotNet (WSDN) to provide the ease of accessing online schedules to its employees. WSDN allows the employee to access the current schedule from any computer with internet access at any time. All scheduling within the WSDN application conforms to the scheduling procedures outlined in the COR Policy & Procedures Manual. To successfully use all features of the WSDN online scheduling system, you will need the following: A computer An internet connection (recommended 200k+, broadband connection preferred) One of the following Internet Browsers: Browser Type: Internet Explorer Firefox Safari Computer type: PC PC/Mac Mac A PDF viewer application on your computer (to view.pdf files). If you do not have a PDF viewer application, you can download one by going to Click on Get Adobe Reader. WorkScheduleDotNet -1- Online Scheduling Manual
5 Logging On The WorkScheduleDotNet application can be accessed from the COR s employee website, CORlink, (1) by pointing your web browser to To access WorkScheduleDotNet from CORlink, (2) click on the link called Online Scheduling, and then (3) click on Log in to the Online Scheduling System. At this point, you will need your user account information located inside the cover of this manual to proceed. You will enter your user id and password into the first entry box. Then click the Logon as an employee button. WorkScheduleDotNet -2- Online Scheduling Manual
6 System Menu Once you have successfully logged on, you will see the system menu. There are three different ways to navigate through the online scheduling system. You can use the 1) Navigation Menu, 2) Welcome Menu, or 3) Standard Menu. Although you can access the online scheduling features via any of these navigation methods, this manual will primarily use the Standard Menu. To see all options available on the Standard Menu, simply click the [+] sign next to each menu heading. To select a menu or option, click on its name. To return to the System menu at anytime, click Home on the Standard Menu. WorkScheduleDotNet -3- Online Scheduling Manual
7 Home From the Home menu, you can: 1) View/modify your account information, 2) Change your password, and 3) View the Billboard. View/Modify Account Info To view or modify your account information, click on the View/Modify Account Info feature under the Home option on the Standard Menu. Here you can keep your personal information up-to-date. The address listed in your contact information will be used for all scheduling s. You will receive s to this address notifying you when a schedule is posted and informing you of changes to your requested schedule. WorkScheduleDotNet -4- Online Scheduling Manual
8 Change Password To change your password, click on the Change Password feature under the Home option from the Standard Menu. You must enter your old password in the first box and your new password in the second box. You must confirm your new password by retyping it in the third box. To confirm your change, click the Submit button. If you fail to click the Submit button, your old password will stay in effect. Remember: In order to access the telephone scheduling hotline, your password can only contain numeric values. View Billboard At this time, the Center for Opinion Research is not using the Billboard feature. WorkScheduleDotNet -5- Online Scheduling Manual
9 Schedule The schedule is posted on a regular basis as outlined in the COR Policy & Procedures Manual. When a schedule has been posted, you will receive an automatic notification . This will confirm that the schedule has been posted and will include the date through which shifts are posted. It will also contain a direct link to the WSDN logon page. Example of Schedule Posting Once you have received the automatic notification that a schedule has been posted, you may view your schedule through the posted date. You may visit the WorkScheduleDotNet online scheduling application at any time to view your schedule. WorkScheduleDotNet -6- Online Scheduling Manual
10 Schedule: How to View As soon as the schedule is posted, the assigned shifts will appear in your WSDN account. From the Schedule option on the Standard Menu, open the Just My Schedule option. From this menu, you can: 1) View your schedule in Weekly View, or 2) View your schedule in Monthly View. WorkScheduleDotNet -7- Online Scheduling Manual
11 Weekly View To view one week of your schedule, click on the Weekly View feature under the Just My Schedule option. Your schedule will always load to the current week. To go to a specific week, select it from the Choose Week drop down. To advance to a week, click the blue right arrow located directly above the schedule. To go back a week, click the blue left arrow located directly above the schedule. Note: If you try to advance to a week and the schedule has not been posted yet, you will receive the message Week is not viewable. Your scheduled shifts will appear shaded. The shaded cells will include the start and end time of your shift, as well as the total number of hours working during the shift. You also will see a summary of the total hours you are scheduled to work for the week. WorkScheduleDotNet -8- Online Scheduling Manual
12 Monthly View To view one month of your schedule, click on the Monthly View feature under the Just My Schedule option. Your schedule will always load to the current month. To advance to a month, click the blue right arrow located directly above the schedule. To go back a month, click the blue left arrow located directly above the schedule. The white cells represent posted scheduled dates. Your scheduled will appear in black text on the white cells. The text in the cells includes the start and end time of your shift and an abbreviation for the shift type and special task you are working. The abbreviations for the shifts are as follows: INT ALT SPAN = Interviewer = Alternate = Spanish WorkScheduleDotNet -9- Online Scheduling Manual
13 Print the Schedule For your convenience, you can print the weekly or monthly schedule you are viewing. To print the schedule you are viewing, select Print the schedule from the Options menu. The schedule will print to a.pdf file. Depending on your web browser settings and PDF viewer option, the file may open in an independent program or within your internet browser. Once you see the.pdf file of your schedule open, you can either save the file or print it using the print option within your PDF viewer. 14 Time Off The Time Off feature in WSDN allows you to request time off, cancel time off, and view your requests to see if they have been approved. WorkScheduleDotNet -11- Online Scheduling Manual
15 Request Time Off To request time off, click on the Request Time off feature and fill in the appropriate fields. In the Notes to manager text box you can include additional information about your request. Once all fields are completed, click the Continue button. WSDN will prompt you to review your request. You have the option of going back and editing the request off or submitting the request for approval. WorkScheduleDotNet -12- Online Scheduling Manual
16 You can view pending requests awaiting approval on the Time Off feature. You have the option to cancel the request by clicking the red x to the left of the corresponding request. WorkScheduleDotNet -13- Online Scheduling Manual
17 If your time off request has been approved, you will receive the following . If you time off has been denied, you will receive the following . Time off Calendar Approved time off will appear as shaded boxes on the Time off Calendar feature. WorkScheduleDotNet -14- Online Scheduling Manual
18 Telephone Scheduling Hotline To check your schedule using the Telephone Schedule Hotline, follow these steps: 1. Dial Note: If you are checking the scheduling hotline from a campus phone, you must dial 8 then You will hear a tone then a short pause (2-3 sec), after which you will connect to the WSDN Scheduling Hotline. 3. When prompted, press 1 to access employee schedules. 4. When prompted, enter the Center for Opinion Research s company id When prompted, enter your user id. 6. When prompted, enter your password. Note: Your password must be numeric in order to access your schedule online. 7. When prompted, press 1 to hear schedule. 8. All shifts types and special tasks you have scheduled through the posting date will be read to you in chronological order. When your enter schedule has been read, you will hear the date through which the schedule has been posted. 9. When you have finished listening to your schedule, you may press 1 to hear your schedule again or simply hang up to exit the Scheduling Hotline. WorkScheduleDotNet -15- Online Scheduling Manual
19 Changes to Your Schedule The protocol for changing your schedule can be found in the COR Policy & Procedures Manual. When changes are made to your schedule auto-generated notification s will be sent. Schedule Change s In the event that the time or type of your shift changes, you will receive an notification that your scheduled shift has changed. The will contain an asterisk indicating what shift information has changed. If you have made a requested change and do not receive a WSDN notification , you should check your schedule to see if the shift was edited. 20 Other Features WSDN provides several other scheduling features. At this time, some features of the WSDN scheduling system will not be used by the Center for Opinion Research. These features include the My Availability, My Attendance, and Billboard features. FAQs I cannot remember my password. What do I do? To recover your password, you can click on the Forgot logon info on the WorkScheduleDotNet sign-in screen. You can also contact a supervisor during normal business hours. I cannot access the telephone hotline. Check that your WSDN password consists of numbers only. If you continue to have problems, please notify a supervisor during normal business hours.
