2 WHAT IS THE WEB TOOLS PROGRAM? Web Tools program s a suite of Application Programming Interfaces (APIs) that allows customer systems to connect to, and integrate with, USPS mailing and shipping systems Your Company WEB TOOLS #include <iostream.h> main() { cout << Hello World! ; return 0; } ACTIVITIES Mailing Shipping Data Retrieval Updates 3 WHAT CAN WEB TOOLS DO? The Web Tools program offers a suite of APIs that allows customers to: Enable USPS products and services on ecommerce websites or within shipping fulfillment processes and systems Manage usps.com and other internal USPS applications and systems The goal of the Web Tools program is to provide a common interface to facilitate access to USPS services 4 2

4 PROGRAM ACCOMPLISHMENTS Redelivery and Delivery Instructions APIs evs API enhancements: Shipping Partner Event File, ZPL label images, Priority Mail Cubic New APIs and Enhancements evs API monthly label volume grew by 35% in FY6 (Oct 205 Sep 206) January, Spring, and August Price Changes Global Trade Compliance for APO/FPO/DPO and PTFAS 7 The Postal Service plans to move forward and continue this success. TYPES OF WEB TOOLS Two versions of Web Tools exist: Web Tools I and Web Tools II. Each have their own benefits. Web Tools I Functions: Enables mailing and shipping in customer systems and ecommerce web sites without using any PII Capabilities: Pricing, address verification, service standards, tracking, labeling Web Tools II Functions: Allows and enables customer control of shipments and data Capabilities: Delivery instructions, package intercepts, and more to come (e.g., Informed Delivery control re-direct button) 8 4

9 WHAT IS INFORMED DELIVERY? Informed Delivery is a new feature offered by USPS that provides users with digital previews of their household mail arriving soon. Mailpiece Image: Users receive s with grayscale images of the exterior, address side of incoming letter-sized mailpieces Representative Image: Mailers can replace the grayscale image with a representative full color image For Flats: Without a Representative image a user will see this: Ride-along Image: Mailers can include color images and interactive content that accompanies the scanned image or Representative image 7 This feature allows users to interact with their mail in new, exciting ways. INFORMED DELIVERY CAMPAIGN ELEMENTS Well Designed Mailpiece: Informed Delivery campaigns always start with a well designed mailpiece Customized Content: Mailer provides color supplemental content and/or color Representative image Interactive Content: Mailer provides custom URL for clickable supplemental content Designated Dates: Mailer provides start and end dates for the campaign Mailer Identification (MID): Mailer uses the MID on the mailpiece or the MID and serial number sequence 8 Campaigns offer mailers an unprecedented opportunity to engage their target audience and expand their reach. 9
