Dr. Joseph Ascenzi has spent most of his professional career working with chemical germicides used for disinfection of medical devices and environmental surfaces. His activities have included product development, quality assurance and regulatory affairs working with regulatory agencies in the US and several countries around the world. He has participated in standards groups such as AAMI, AOAC, ASTM as well as advisory panels for Cal OSHA. He is the author or co-author of numerous scientific articles and book chapters on the subject as well as the editor of the book Handbook of Disinfectants and Antiseptics. Dr. Ascenzi holds a Ph.D. in microbiology from the University of Cincinnati.
