1 For Leaders This aid will provide instructions on how to: Access eperformance Establish Accountabilities (Personal Goals) Add goals Edit goals Delete goals Save goals Notify Your Leader that Goals are Ready Important Notes: 1. Your self-appraisal will not be available until: a. You enter your personal goals b. Notify your primary reviewer (leader) when your goals are complete c. Your primary reviewer approves them within eperformance 2. Your primary reviewer will not be able to initiate your appraisal without your completed goals. 3. IMPORTANT! Once goals are approved, they are locked (no edits) so that their image can be loaded into the automatically created Self-Appraisal, Colleague Input, and Performance Appraisal documents! 4. WARNING! Use of the internet Back and Forward navigation buttons will remove ALL entries since your last Save! 5. Any time you click Save, an will be sent to your manager indicating the additions and/or updates you have completed. a. Your goal work is saved temporarily when you click Add or Update. b. When you finish all of your desired session adds and changes, click Save. c. If you prefer to complete and save all of your goals in one sitting, consider creating a rough draft using the Leader Goal Setting Worksheet on Performance Management website. Once your draft is ready, return to eperformance and use your worksheet as a guide to enter your goals. 6. For Fiscal Year 17, you are required to enter 4 work plan aligned goals and 1 leadership development goal. This section of your appraisal is weighted at 50%. 7. Each goal should follow a SMARTS design: a. Title b. Description (Specific, action-oriented, aligned to Balanced Scorecard/Work Plan) c. Meets and Exceeds measurements d. Realistic due date e. Weighting (so all goals, when added together, total 100%)

2 Access Your eperformance Appraisal A. From Employee Self Service, open Current Documents (steps 1 5 below) Select Main Menu (not Manager Self Service ; MSS is for your team s appraisals) B. Select Performance Appraisal from your list of Current Documents A document status of Define Criteria signifies goals have not been completed. Select Performance Appraisal. As of 09/01/16, you will notice 2 PA documents, one each for FY16 and FY17. These can be distinguished by the Period Begin and End dates!

3 Add Goals A. Click Add Item under Personal Goals tab, Section 1 Track your progress and view deadlines at the left side of your screen. Track your progress & deadlines NEW! Tabs contain Sections NEW! Reference Materials Click Add Item After your first goal has been added, Add Item will be located after Expand & Collapse B. Add Goal Details: 1-title, 2-description, 3-meets & exceeds criteria, 4-due date, 5-click Add

4 Add Goals C. Add weighting to the goal. Once you have added a goal, you ll be returned to its summary screen to enter its associated weighting. The weighting percentage of all goals, added together, MUST equal 100%. Repeat steps A C until the 5 goals have been added and weighted. Enter the goal s weight percentage. This goal is now complete and saved temporarily. Select Save (at the top right corner of your screen), at the end of your session. This step also sends your manager an automated of your adds and modifications for this session. Click SAVE before you exit. In addition to saving, this sends your manager an of general changes. A Save Warning message will appear if you log off without saving your work. o Yes = return to screen then click Save o No = log off and discard any changes

5 Edit Goals A. Open the Performance Appraisal document. If necessary, expand the desired goal to view its details. B. Click the Edit [pencil ( )] icon located in the right section of the displayed goal, to open the Edit Item screen. Edit C. Make desired edits.

6 Edit Goals Editing Options Bar (always select text first) Change Font Name of your selected text Apply bold, italics, and/or underline Change text color or shading Opens text in miniwindow Change Font Size of your selected text Add numbering or bullets D. Click Update to save edits. Update to save edits Return to leave without saving

7 Delete Goals A. Open the Performance Appraisal document. If necessary, expand the desired goal to view its details. B. Click the Delete [trash can ( )] icon located in the right section of the displayed goal, to open the Delete Confirmation screen. Delete C. Verify you have chosen the correct item (will be named within the question). o Select Yes Delete to proceed with the deletion. o Select No Do Not Delete to exit the Delete Confirmation screen. Delete Cancel

8 Save and Manager of Added and/or Edited Goals A. Select Save, when all goals have been added and/or edited for the session. Select Save at top right of screen. B. Verify a confirmation statement appears on your screen. The system will confirm your goals are saved. C. A notification is automatically sent to your manager, once you receive confirmation on screen that your goals have been saved. See example below; an is generated each time you click Save.

9 Notify Manager When Goals Completed and/or Changes are Made A. Select Notify, when all required goals have been reviewed and properly weighted. This can also be used when changes are made after approval. Select Notify at top right of screen. B. Compose your custom notification message then click Send. 1-Compose your message: (example) All required goals are ready and weighted. 2-Click Send C. Your notification is sent to your manager, after clicking Send. See example below; is an adhoc notification due to the custom message. Your Self-Appraisal will not be available until your manager performs an Update and Approve of your goals from within their Manager Dashboard.
