1 How To: Create a new TDT account

2 Before you get started: Important Tips: You must have created and verified your login before you can create a TDT account. If you need help, please read our How To: Creating a Login. You will need your Property Control Number in order to create a new TDT account. If you need help, please read our How To: Before Getting Started Property Owners.

3 Step 1: Log in to the TDT online portal Visit Click Tourist Development Tax within the Search or Pay Here box.

4 Step 2: Enter your login credentials Enter your Username and Password. Click Login.

5 Step 3: Create your TDT account Click Apply for a New Tourist Development Account.

6 Step 4: Set up your Master Account Enter Business Name or Owner Name. We recommend you use the same name as it appears on your property tax bill. If you manage several properties, you can create a nickname to group them in the Master Account. For example, Jane s Jupiter Beach Rentals. Select your Organization Type. Property Owner (default) Corporation General Partnership Limited Liability Company Limited Partnership Sole Proprietorship Unspecified Jane Smith Social Security Number Jane Smith North Olive Ave 301 Select your preferred ID Type. Driver License Number Employer Identification Number Federal Identification Number Social Security Number State Identification Number Enter your ID Number (no dashes). 7 Step 4: Set up your Master Account, cont d. Enter your Master Account Property ID information. Businesses/Property Owners within Palm Beach County enter the PCN of your business location or residence. Businesses/Property Owners outside Palm Beach County enter the PCN of one of your short term rental properties. Whatever you enter in this field will be designated as your primary location for your TDT account and cannot be changed. Click Look Up. The system automatically populates all remaining fields based on the mailing address in our system. If this address is not up-to-date, and you have changed your address with the Property Appraiser, it will automatically change when the next tax roll is created. If you have not updated your address, please contact the Property Appraiser at Remove Jane Smith Social Security Number Jane Smith North Olive Ave West Palm Beach Florida Jane Smith 100% No mailing address is required. All correspondence is conducted via . It is critically important that you update your address in your profile if it changes.

8 Step 4: Set up your Master Account, cont d. If your property is owned by more than one party, you can add Owners and define their percentage of ownership. Click Add Owner Double click the blank space beneath the first owner s name.

9 Step 4: Set up your Master Account, cont d. Enter each additional owner name and % ownership. Ownership must total 100%. If you defined your Master Account using a nickname, we recommend you modify the nickname to 0% ownership, then add the names of actual owners and define their percentage of ownership. Click Next.

10 Step 5: Add a rental property to your Master Account Click Add Location. The term Location refers to a short term rental property. Every time you add a property to your Master Account, you will add a Location. You will need the PCN for each property.

11 Step 6: Enter your rental property information The Location number defaults to 1 indicating you are adding your first property. Enter the PCN (with or without dashes) of your first rental property and click Look Up. The system automatically populates all remaining fields based on the legal description in our system. Enter your telephone number and address. You can also enter an alternate telephone number, but it is not required. Click Ok. Greyed out fields cannot be updated or changed.

12 Step 7: Select rental type Select the type of rental from the Tax Type drop down menu. Apartment Monthly Boarding House/B&B/Rooming House Monthly Commercial Real Estate (not taxable) Monthly Condominium Monthly Hotel/Motel Monthly Lodging Monthly Calendar Mobile Home Monthly Multi-Family Monthly RV Park/Campground Monthly Single Family Dwelling Monthly Timeshare Monthly Click Next Each Tax Type is listed as Monthly. This is the filing schedule, not the duration of the rental itself.

13 Step 8: Review and Submit Review the information you entered for your first rental property (Location 1). If all information is correct, click Submit. If you need to make changes, do not use the browser s back button. Please click Previous. You must click Submit to completely create your account.

14 Step 9: Go to the Home Page After you click Submit, you will see the following message displayed. Click Go To Home Page to finish setting up your account. From the homepage, click on the My Accounts tab to view your accounts. Jane Smith
