2 Grand Opening We are pleased to announce that the AlloyMtd Resource Centre will be opening its doors to all staff beginning 1st April Everybody is welcome to read, use or borrow the materials from the Resource Centre. 3 Basic Info OPERATING HOURS: Monday Friday: Borrowing and returning Training Materials 8.00 am 6.00 pm Reading books, magazines, etc a.m p.m p.m. Saturday, Sunday & Public Holiday: Closed ELIGIBILITY: All AlloyMtd staff are automatically considered as members of the Resource Centre and thus eligible to benefit from it. Staff are allowed and welcomed to use and borrow materials from the Resource Centre. For the complete guidelines, please refer to the next page.

4 Guidelines BASIC RULES: 1. No eating and drinking in the Resource Centre. 2. Staff are only allowed to enter during the operating hours. 3. Loud and noisy audio are prohibited. Please use the provided headphones if you wish to use audiovisual materials. 4. After reading, you may put the materials (books and training materials) on the trolley. Our HCD staff will help to re-rack them according to the serial numbers.

5 Guidelines TERMS & CONDITION FOR BORROWING: 1. Borrowers must have a valid AlloyMtd staff ID. 2. If a staff wishes to borrow a book, he/she is advised to check the availability of books on the Document Management System (DMS) before visiting the Resource Centre. 3. Borrowers will need to sign the borrowing log during the collection and return of the items. 4. Borrowed items must be returned within the stipulated duration or penalty will be charged. 5. Borrowed items must be returned in good condition. 6. Staff will be charged a penalty for any lost of borrowed items based on the actual value of the materials (books, magazines, etc). 6 Guidelines COMPUTERS: Two units of computers are available in the Resource Centre: 1. To be used for audiovisual materials. 2. To go through our Resource Centre catalogs (books and training materials listing) to find reading/reference resources. 3. To go to AlloyMtd s Docu e t Management System to use the scanned training materials.

7 Guidelines DOCUMENT MANAGEMENT SYSTEM (DMS) As part of the Knowledge Management program, certain training materials from the year 2014 and 2015 will be available on AlloyMtd Document Management System (DMS). Staff can access the DMS by using the User ID: user and Password:

8 Guidelines DOCUMENT MANAGEMENT SYSTEM (DMS) With DMS, staff can: 1. View the list of available *books 2. View the list of **training materials from 2014 and View and read training materials online (*) and (**) Notes: Training materials with extensive contents (example: more than 70 pages), and books are not available for online reading. Staff will have to visit the Resource Centre to read or borrow these items.

9 Materials We have a variety of materials in the Resource Centre - from books, magazines, training materials, and audiovisual (CD) that comes from assorted fields and disciplines which you can leverage on. Books Magazines Training Materials Variety Of Materials Audiovisual

10 Our Collection of Materials Books A wide selection of self-help, personal development and biography books to choose from. Staff can read the books in the Resource Centre, or borrow them for reading at home. Magazines We also provide a range of magazines from various themes for light reading. These magazines however are not for borrowing. Training Materials Notes, handouts and materials from past training programs attended by staff will be made available in the Resource Centre. Certain training materials from 2014 and 2015 can be accessed via AlloyMtd s Docu e t Ma age e t Syste for o li e readi g. Audiovisual Apart from reading materials, there are also audiovisuals sources for the use of the Resource Centre visitors. The audiovisuals are in the form of CD which can be used with the computers that are also available in the Resource Centre.

11 Other Resources Newspapers The Resource Centre will also be the place where staff can read the daily newspapers. Previously placed at the reception counter on the sixth floor, the Resource Centre is now a better place to keep and read the news.
