1 1 Preparation ID ISC.LR200-A/B First Steps to get the Serial Number from a Transponder (Using ISOStart Version 6.0 or higher) 1 Connect the ID ISC.LR200 via RS232 or RS485 to the PC 2 Install the Demo Software ISOStart 6.0 or higher See Installation Manual From the Demo-CD 2 Read serial number 1 Start the ID ISOStart.exe 2 An already connected reader will be detected automatically after starting the ID ISOStart. 3 If there was no reader detected, check the power supply and RS232 connection. After that press the detect -button. 4 Press the Configuration-Button 5 Mark: ID ISC.LR Configuration 6 Select the EEPROM N e-ID-A.doc

2 Identifikationssystem OBID i-scan 7 Press Reset [0x83] to bring the reader into the default condition 8 After the [0x83] Reset the demo-program performs an [0x63]CPU Reset automatically and detects the baudrate again. If you are using your own program you shouldn t forget to perform a [0x63]CPU Reset after you have changed any parameter of the reader configuration. 9 Go back to the configuration settings by pressing the Configuration-Button 10 Mark: CFG10: General ISO Host Commands Go to step 11 Buffered Read Mode Go to step 18 Scan Mode Go to step 25 3 ISO Host Commands 11 Make sure that the Buffered Read Mode and the Scanner Mode is not marked. 12 Press the Commands-Button 13 Select the ISO Host Command [0x01] Inventory 14 Press the Send-Button Page 2 of 6 FEIG ELECTRONIC GmbH

3 First Steps to get a Serial-Number 15 You will get the Serial-Number and the transponder-type, if there is one or more transponders inside the antenna field. TR-Type = 00 => I-Code TR-Type = 01 => Tag-it TR-Type = 03 => ISO Transponder (example with 1 Tag-it HF and 1 I-Code1 transponder inside the antenna field) 16 If you like to read the serial number again you have to remove the transponder from the antennfield for a short time and put them again into the field. or 17 or perform a [0x69] RF Reset switch OFF the Anticollision Select Mode in CFG 10 General 4 Buffered Read Mode 18 Change the Reader Mode into the Buffered Read Mode 19 Press the [0x81] Write-Button Make sure that the EEPROM is selected 20 Press the Buffered Read Mode-Button 21 Set the number of Data Sets to be transferred from the data buffer. 4 Identifikationssystem OBID i-scan 22 You will get the Serial-Number and the transponder-type, if there is one or more transponders inside the antenna field. TR-Type = 00 => I-Code TR-Type = 01 => Tag-it (example with 1 Tag-it and 1 I-Code transponder inside the antenna field) 23 Press the Clear-Button to clear the x Data Sets in the data buffer. If you have more than x Data Sets in the data buffer you can read it by pressing the Read- Button again. 24 Press the Initialize-Button to clear all Data Sets in the data buffer. 5 Scan Mode 25 Change the Reader Mode into the Scan Mode 26 Press the Write-Button[0x81] 27 Press the Scanner Window-Button Page 4 of 6 FEIG ELECTRONIC GmbH

5 First Steps to get a Serial-Number 27 The Scanner Window will appear 28 You will get the Serial-Number, if you bring one or more transponders inside the antenna field. 29 The format of the received data can be configured in the CFG 12 Scan Mode. 30 Which data will be send to the host, can be configured in the CFG12 Scan Mode.
