3 Integration with DI CS Prior to Release 10, ConnectingOntario ClinicalViewer provided access to Diagnostic Imaging (DI) reports only from sites contributing to the Acute and Community Clinical Data Repository (accdr) In Release 10, the ConnectingOntario ClinicalViewer displays DI data directly from Diagnostic Imaging Common Service (DI CS). The ConnectingOntario ClinicalViewer now displays not just reports, but also images stored in any of the three provincial DI repositories: Northern and Eastern Ontario Diagnostic Imaging Network (NEODIN) South West Ontario Diagnostic Imaging Network (SWODIN) Hospital Diagnostic Imaging Repository Services (HDIRS) * includes GTA West In support of this integration, the portlet has been completely redesigned and renamed; it is now known as the Diagnostic Imaging (DI) Portlet 3

4 Updated DI Portlet Each row represents a single accession Note: This image contains sample data 1. By default, the portlet is sorted in descending order by Procedure Date/Time 2. One or more procedures may be associated with an accession number 3. The Additional Information column contains the modality, anatomic region and laterality, in no particular order, for each procedure associated with the accession. These details are only available if the site provides them 4. Where multiple procedures are associated with a single accession, you can hover over the Procedure Description to view a complete list of the contents. Each line of the tooltip is associated with a single study 5. Clicking DI CS in the warning message displays a list of organizations contributing to 4 DI CS in a separate browser window

5 Updated DI Portlet Viewing DI Reports 1. Click the Report icon to view the report(s) associated with a given accession This launches the Document Viewer. If there are multiple documents associated with an accession number, each will appear in its own tab 2. Select the tab corresponding to the report you would like to review 5

6 Updated DI Portlet Viewing DI Images 1. Click the Image icon to view the images associated with a given accession This launches the Image Viewer in a new tab within your browser Best Practice: Close the Image Viewer window when you are done viewing the images. Changing patient context or logging out of the ClinicalViewer will also close the Image Viewer. 7 Updated DI Portlet Consent Override Red warning text alerts users that some data in DI CS has been blocked by a consent directive It is not currently possible to override consent blocks in the DI portlet or to retrieve blocked DI information stored in DI CS 7

8 Integration with DI CS Multiple Locations for DI Reports DI reports and images from hospital radiology departments and Independent Health Facilities are contributed to the local DI repository and then to DI CS. These reports and images display in the ClinicalViewer, DI Portlet DI Portlet DI r DI CS Other Results Portlet DI reports that are not sent to DI CS will continue to be contributed to the accdr. These reports display in the ClinicalViewer, Other Results Portlet! 1. Check both the DI and Other Results portlets for DI information 2. If a procedure is performed at an organization that contributes only to DI CS, information for the patient will display only in the DI Portlet (no other portlets will be populated) 8

9 Integration with DI CS Organization and Facility Names The coding approach at each contributing organization determines what is displayed in the Organization column within the ClinicalViewer: organization only or organization plus facility. This will result in differences between how the same organization is listed in the DI portlet and all of the others: 9

10 Interface Changes Updates to Headers 1. The name of the organization that has authorized access now appears in brackets 2. The size of the logout button has been increased 3. The patient s full address now appears in the patient header 4. The patient header now has a white background to increase contrast 10

11 Interface Changes Updates to the Timeline 1. In the Custom timeline dialogue, the From and To fields default to today s date 2. The Custom timeline dialogue can now be cancelled using the Cancel button or the Close icon 3. The background on the timeline is now white, to improve contrast 11

12 Interface Changes Patient not Selected In Release 10, if you click the Patient Care tab without first selecting a patient, you will be taken directly to the Patient Search dialogue The Patient Search dialogue also appears when the ClinicalViewer is launched from an organization s information system with a patient selected and that patient cannot be found in the Provincial Client Registry 12

13 Interface Changes Larger Document Viewer The viewing area of the Document Viewer is now proportional to the viewing area of your screen, providing more viewing area when available R9.2 R10 13

14 Interface Changes Filtering Patient Lists by Gender In both My Patients List and My Recent Patients, it is now possible to filter for male patients Select the gender by clicking the applicable checkbox in the menu. The list of genders in the menu is generated from the entries in the Gender column 14

15 Interface Changes New Column Names Columns that were unnamed in Release 9.2 have been named in Release 10: R9.2 R
