3 Introduction Welcome to the world of Webalo content administration and deployment. With Webalo you will be able to quickly deliver back-end data and applications to your mobile workforce. The process is exciting and rewarding. Please take a few minutes to read the following startup guide before you begin Webalo administration training provided on This document describes the new structure of administrator website agenda menus. Connecting to Webalo If you are reconnecting to Webalo Cloud or Webalo Pro Cloud after completing Getting Started, go to from a laptop, desktop, or tablet with a Flashenabled browser. If you are running Webalo Pro Appliance, please follow these steps to login to Webalo. Open a flash enabled browser and navigate to the fully qualified hostname of your appliance. Note: If you do not know your appliance hostname, please contact your Webalo appliance administrator. At the login page, enter your Webalo account or domain administrator credentials.

5 Restructured Webalo Administrator Menus Webalo has restructured the administrator menus based on customer input in order to make them easier to understand, shorten the overall path to completion, eliminate redundancy, and to make each selection action-oriented. The changes are designed to maximize successful configurations on first use while at the same time maintaining consistency with subsequent usage and revisions. The new interface clearly separates mobilizing new content from editing existing content. Webalo makes it easier for the user to find the items on the menu, and eliminates some of the redundancy of the former menus. Please review these changes to these menus now, so you can configure your content when you are ready. The look of the new menus and screens is detailed in the figures below.

6 Top-Level Agenda Item Selector Top-Level Agenda Item Selector steps have an action-oriented label and can have up to three levels: First level: "Select activity category" Second level (if any): "Select activity subcategory" Leaf level : "Select Activity" Clicking a "leaf" item immediately adds a step to the agenda and finishes the agenda item selection process. Top level items that are applicable only to Webalo Pro Appliance (WPA) will be included in Webalo Cloud (WC) and Webalo Pro Cloud (WPC), but clicking those items in WC or WPC will bring up an "Upgrade Now" popup.

9 1 Mobilize Your Applications and Data Deliver new content to users. Track your progress completing every activity with the Agenda pane on the left hand side of the screen. You can access content sensitive help for every step by Click here for help link at the top the page after the message.

10 1.1 Mobilize Spreadsheet Deliver Microsoft Excel, CSV or TSV data to mobile devices. You can find the training documents and videos on Report Configuration Training Series page. 1.2 Mobilize a Database Query Deliver data from a database to mobile devices. You can find the training documents and videos on Database Task Configuration Training Series page. 1.3 Mobilize an XML Web Service (WPA only) Make content from XML Web services available to users. 1.4 Mobilize a Website (WPA only) Make content from Web sites available to users.

11 2 Edit Mobilized Applications and Data Review and change content users already receive. The "Edit Mobilized Applications and Data" step appears only when some content has already been deployed in the account. That is, it does not appear until any of the domain/account admins have successfully completed his/her first configuration.

12 2.1 Reconfigure or Update Mobilized Spreadsheets Change the name of a report, who receives it, how data is extracted from spreadsheets, and how data is presented to users. 2.2 Edit Mobilized Database Queries Reconfigure the connections to databases and edit database queries. 2.3 Reconfigure Mobilized XML Web Services (WPA only) Review, edit and delete data services. 2.4 Reconfigure Mobilized Websites (WPA only) Reconfigure Web site content including Web page formats and recorded Web macros. 2.5 Organize Mobile Device Home Screen Add, delete, or re-arrange items that appear on a user s home screen.

13 2.6 Fine-tune your Configurations (Advanced) Customize services, data formats, display rules, menus and tasks Add or Edit Data Formats Upload a new data format file or replace an existing data format file Edit Data Display Rules Customize rules for how data is displayed to users Add or Remove XML Web Services (WPA only) Update (re-upload) or delete data service (WSDL) file.

14 3 Manage Users and Access Manage users, user profile information, and how users are organized into groups. 3.1 Add a User Grant/revoke access to/from users, lookup or change profile information for existing users, and provide credentials to enable user access to external systems. 3.2 Edit or Remove Users Lookup or change profile information for existing users and provide credentials to enable user access to external systems.

15 3.3 Manage Mobile Access Using Groups Manage access to content by organizing users into groups. 3.4 Delegate Administration Using Domains Review all domains in the <account-name> account as well as add or edit domains. 3.5 Synchronize with Your Active Directory (WPA only) Synchronize users and groups with LDAP and Active Directory. 3.6 View or Change Your Profile Update your user profile information and setup devices for testing.

Learn from expert users and share your expertise. 4.3 Request Support or Make Suggestion Request help from Webalo support team or make a suggestion for improvement. 5 Manage <account-name> Account Plan (Goes to "Review Plan" page) Directs to the "Review or Change Account Plan" step, with a button to "View Usage Reports" and another for "Report an Issue" (for WPC). View account usage or review and update account usage information. Upgrade your account.

18 Webalo Support Also note that you can visit Webalo support website, for indepth technical support documents, online help, video tutorials, and training materials. Your Webalo login credentials are required for access to the support website. In addition, you can access "Answers" at to quickly find answers to the questions you may have and post new questions to the experts in the community. 19 Installing Webalo Client onto Your Mobile Device Detailed installation instructions are available on the Webalo Support/Documents page. Alternatively, you may install the Webalo client app by clicking on the following links: o Install Webalo on Apple o Install Webalo on Android o Install Webalo on BlackBerry o Install Webalo on Windows Phone Using Webalo Desktop to Test Configurations Webalo desktop client (in beta) is a quick convenient way to see results of your configurations if you do not have a device handy. Webalo desktop client is a subset of the functionality available on a device. Browse to the Webalo desktop client. For Webalo Pro Appliance: For Webalo Cloud or Webalo Pro Cloud: Once the page has loaded, you will see the desktop client. The Options page should popup. If not, select Options in the lower left-hand corner. Enter your login credentials and press Save. Webalo desktop will connect and synchronize with the reports and tasks you have configured.
