18 Inline Lateral Inspection User manual Select your template The PipeOptix software has two asset inspection templates. Please reference Page XX to change your template. Aries Basic Template NASSCO Template Note: The NASSCO template will have more required fields. Aries Industries, Inc. recommends obtaining NASSCO training and certification before using the NASSCO template. Getting Started Click on the [Mainline] toolbar button. In the [Asset] tab enter the required asset information. Fields in in bold red or bold black are required. (With exceptions to the Project and Customer fields.) Click on the [Inspection] tab and enter the required Inspection information. Click the [Record] button to begin recording and logging mainline observations. Click the [Lateral] toolbar button. The mainline inspection will be paused, resume the recording to continue logging mainline observations. Repeat the steps above to inspect the next inline lateral _A
19 How to Capture Inclination Data Note: To get the most precise inclination data, we recommend capturing this data at the end of your asset inspection when it is time to retrieve your tractor. The steady pace when retrieving the tractor allows for a more consistent and accurate inclination reading. To capture inclination, pause the video recording when you have reached the end of your asset inspection. This is to prevent recording unnecessary video. Pausing the video recording is optional. Pausing the video recording will not prevent Pipeoptix from recording inclination data. Click on the angle button to start recording inclination data. (Reference page 9.) Pull the tractor back out of the mainline at a steady pace. PipeOptix will record inclination data during this time. Once you have retrieved the tractor to the starting point of your inspection, click on the angle button again to stop recording inclination data. Click on the [Stop] button to end your inspection _A
20 How to Review a Previous Inspection To view a previously recorded asset inspection, click on the [File Directory] toolbar button. (Reference page 7.) This will open to the Staging Path. This is the location where all asset inspections are stored. (Reference page 11.) Locate and open the Inspection folder. Note that all Inspection folders are named based on the date, upstream manhole, downstream manhole and time. Example: MH1-MH idb The lateral inspection folders are named differently. They are based on the red bold fields. However, the red non-bold fields also play a role in the naming of the file depending on the camera direction in the lateral. Example: Lateral 11.0 from DSMH at 3 on idb (Camera direction upstream.) Example: idb (Camera direction downstream from building or structure.) Double left click on the database file. This should be the only file visible in the folder with an.idb file extension. Your previously recorded asset inspection will now be loaded and ready for review _A
21 How to export a NASSCO Database Note: The NASSCO template will have more required fields and is more stringent with how data is collected, imported and exported. Aries Industries, Inc. recommends obtaining NASSCO training and certification before using the NASSCO template. Export to NASSCO Exchange Database Once an asset inspection has been completed using the NASSCO template, click the [Export to Exchange Database] toolbar button. This will cycle through the inspection validating the information against the NASSCO 6.0 standard. If it finds any errors, it will not export and a log will be generated showing any errors needing correction. If there are no errors, then an access database file will be exported into the inspection folder. This access database is formatted as such that it can be imported into any other NASSCO certified software _A
