1 Enhancements to Optiplant Configurator Version 4.7 Release Date: March MODULE FEATURE DESCRIPTION Project Creation 1. License-in-use prompt. 1. This new feature automatically identifies the licenses already in use by any specific user. 2. If it finds any license in use on the same machine then it informs the user by prompting this message so that user is aware of the In-use licenses. Equipment & Structural Modeling 1. Multiple objects can be selected by Fence Command and grouping of objects. 2. Status Bar shows Equipment ID, Equipment type, Datum point Coordinates and Primary Dimensions of selected object. 3. Status Bar shows the number of selected objects in the window. 4. Datum points of following objects have been shifted: Rack Volume Structural Frame Building 1. This function allows users to select and modify multiple objects in the layout using window selection. 2. User can also group the selected objects in one file by using Group Selection Command available in this release. 3. By grouping the objects in a file user can retrieve the selection at any stage for further modification. 1. Status bar in OptiPlant will now show P1 (Placement Point) coordinates along with Equipment ID, Equipment Type, and Primary Dimensions of the selected object. 2. This enhancement will allow the user to check the main attributes of selected equipment without opening the attributes form. 1. Status bar in OptiPlant will now show number of objects selected by the user. 2. NOTE This feature is applicable to ONLY equipments and structures and NOT for selected pipes. 1. Datum points for Rack Volume, Structural Frame Building, Beam and Column have been shifted to center of start edge. 2. 2 Beam Column 5. Datum Point and Directions of Valve Equipment are changed. 6. Background Color options in OptiPlant make it easier for the user to calculate the position of these objects. 3. NOTE When models built in v4.5.1 or older are opened in this new version v4.7, then the Structural Frame Buildings, Beams and Columns will appear at slightly new locations and will need to be relocated back to its original location due to the new datum-point location. This is a one-time change to upgrade the models to the new version. 1. Datum point of the valve is shifted in this release and the valve directions have also changed. 2. There are now only three directions in the parametric window of valve i.e. datum point is fixed in North for N-S valve, datum point is fixed in West direction for E-W valve and datum point for Up-Down valve is fixed in Down direction. 3. This enhancement will show only valid nozzles in the Line List template which will decrease the chances of wrong input. 4. NOTE When models built in v4.5.1 or older are opened in this new version v4.7, then the valves modeled as equipments will appear as relocated and will need to be relocated back to its original location due to the new datum-point location. This is a one-time change to upgrade the models to the new version. 1. The background color of OptiPlant can now be set as Black or White for better visualization of 3D models. Input Generation & Batch Routing 1. Enhanced Slope line function. 1. Slope function is improved in this version, following are the improvements: User will be able to input the slope ratio in fractions as well ranging from 0.5% to 50%. Slope pipes can be routed inside rack volumes as well as outside rack volumes. 2. New template for Line List and 1. New and improved Line List template has ReleaseNotesOptiplantV4 7.doc Page 2

3 Component List. been introduced in this version. Following are the improvements: Line list template is integrated with component list i.e. user can add components to any line in the same template instead of adding the components through different template. Output of the line list and component list can be extracted in XML format. Easy to keep track of the input of the lines as now user do not have to open two templates. More user friendly than previous templates. 3. Unlimited UPE and DNE nozzles for Horizontal drum 1. Unlimited UPE and DNE nozzles have been provided in Horizontal drum for the user to connect n number of lines from this nozzle. 2. User will also be able to specify the nozzle based on the direction i.e. if drum is placed in N-S direction then it will show UPE, UPEN and UPES options in the From/To type in LLS Template. 4. HZ nozzles provided in the Pump equipment. 1. Two HZ nozzles and two UP nozzles are provided in the pump equipment for the user to connect the pipes to pump from Side and top respectively. 2. 4 5. Information of manually sequenced pipes is saved for retrieval at later stage. 6. Enhanced Air Cooler Rules Template. 7. Enhanced Nested Loop GUI to accept negative temperature value. 1. This feature will allow users to manually change the sequence of the pipes for batch routing 2. This allows the user to configure and change the rules and retrieve them at any point for routing. 1. Air cooler rules template has been improved for better input of the air cooler lines. Following are the improvements: User can now assign the air cooler rules separately for UP and DN system lines. User will now be able to Turn OFF or change the Rules for each line connected to air cooler. 2. NOTE Air cooler rules will need to be reapplied to upgrade a v4.5.1 model to a v4.7 model. 1. Nested loop GUI is enhanced to accept negative values for the ambient temperature. 8. SPP&ID interface with ASD. 1. The SPP&ID interface has been improved to read the automatic fields and apply rules to convert the data to an ASD line list format Deliverables 1. Report for Piping Loads on Steel. 2. Enhanced Structure MTO report function. 1. This function is developed to generate the report for loads on the pipe rack due to pipes. 2. It automatically calculates the load of the pipes on pipe rack and gives the user an option to select the pipe racks of his choice to calculate the loads on it. 1.
