Constructware connects people, information, and processes to help streamline operations, manage change, and optimize execution in the field. Greater project transparency and accountability improve insight across projects of all sizes. Gain more accurate near time cost visibility with the ability to exchange project data with accounting systems. And the configurable web-based software as a service (SaaS) platform can help to reduce costs associated with implementing and managing an IT infrastructure.

File Director Improvements With the November release, the File Director feature has received the following improvements: Copy groups and associated permissions from a project to an existing project.

2 File Director Improvements With the November release, the File Director feature has received the following improvements: Copy groups and associated permissions from a project to an existing project. Added the option to restrict the overwriting of an existing file globally, at a project level, or at a folder level Copy Groups and associated permissions Prior to this release the only way to copy groups and the associated permissions in File Director was by using the Project Wizard function. If this was not done, the project would have to be recreated or the group permissions would have to be manually created for each folder. With this release, an administrator to File Director can copy groups and their associated permissions from one project to an existing project within the File Director module. To copy a folder structure and the existing groups and associated permissions to a project: Go to the Source project and click on a folder to copy. Select Copy. In the Wizard screen, select the destination project and the destination folder. A new option, Check Groups, is displayed. Select Check Groups. The window will show the groups that are not listed on the destination project. The user will select the groups they want to copy. This will bring up the Group Copy Wizard to allow them to copy the selected group or all the groups. This will take you back to the Copy Folder Wizard to complete the copy process. Figure 2. With the November release, you can now restrict the ability to overwrite an existing file in File Director globally, at a project level, or at a folder level To set the default action for overwriting an existing file globally: Go to Module Customization and select File Director. Select Edit. On the attributes tab, select Default Action for Overwriting Existing Files and select Edit. Select the desired option in the Default Value dropdown. o Always: User can always overwrite existing files o Never: User can never overwrite existing files o Per Folder: The overwriting is determined at a project s folder level. Go to File Director and select the project you want to customize the attributes. Select customize. On the attributes tab, select Default Action for Overwriting Existing Files and select Edit. On the general tab, check the box if you want to allow a user to be able to overwrite an existing file. Leave the box unchecked to allow the overwriting of existing files. Figure 6. Default Action for Overwriting Existing Files for Folder Data Exchange Improvements Prior to this release, companies utilizing data exchange for Payment Applications / Contractor Payment Applications were not able to get the Schedule of Value (SOV) information via data exchange. Currently only the header information is exchangeable via data exchange. With this release, companies can now exchange the Schedule of Values (SOV) information in the Pay Applications / Contractor Pay in the outbound direction. Constructware will still not allow the creation or updating of SOV information for Pay Applications / Contract Pay Applications in the inbound direction. Miscellaneous Improvements Submittals Update Company Only permission Currently the company only permission is defined as follows: Company Only - User can enter new Submittal Items and Packages.

With the November release, the company only permission has been redefined as follows: Company Only - User can enter new Submittal Items and Packages.

Currently the permission doesn t allow a user to revise or split submittal package.

User with Company Only permission will only access the items where their company is the Responsible Team Member company OR Created By company. User has access to all packages. With the November release, the company only permission has been redefined as follows: Company Only - User can enter new Submittal Items and Packages. User with Company Only permission will only access the items where their company is the Responsible Team Member company OR Created By company OR Submitting Company. User has access to all packages. Currently the permission doesn t allow a user to revise or split submittal package. With the November release, the company only permission has been updated to allow a user with this permission to revise or split a submittal package. Submittals Locking of submittal item dates Currently when a user submits the submittal item, a user can go back and change the submittal dates. With the November release, when a user enters in the submitted date, a popup is displayed notifying them that the submission dates will be locked upon saving. The following fields are locked preventing the changing of the submission dates: Figure 7. Popup when submitted date filled out. Design Review Limiting Responders to Users There is a new attribute Responders must be Users in the Design Review module. This attribute allows you to limit responders to Constructware users.
