10 Student Name Teacher s Name Class and Period 8 April 2013 Regardless of claims concerning which author did the better job with their work, both George Orwell s 1984 and Aldous Huxley s Brave New World are some of the strongest examples in their respective genres of the risks of utilizing technology to manipulate humankind. Like Aldous Huxley states, technological means have driven us backwards; we must find the balance between too much and too little high tech. Instead of using it to destroy us, we must progress (for the better) at the same level as applied science. After all, progress is lovely (Miller). ************************** NEW PAGE ***************************** Works Cited Miller, Derek D. Brave New World and the Threat of Technological Growth.
