Autoscroll Start or stop autoscrolling of the chord chart. Menu Show or hide the menubar. Metronome Start or stop the metronome at the tempo set for the chord chart.

Layout Options Adjusting how your song are drawn on the page Notation Chords Notation chords are the ones that appear in textual bars used for chords timing. These usually look like the following: [A] \ [B] \ [C] \ [D] OnSong detects that these chords are placed in notation and draws them alongside the notation marks instead of placing them on top. You can alter this behavior with this settings.

Layout Options Adjusting how your song are drawn on the page Adjust Whitespace Newer versions of OnSong will adjust white space to be closer to the average width of the font instead of a fraction of a letter width. In some cases, this can cause issues for some users. You can turn off whitespace adjustment to use the older rendering technique. Adjusted Space Character When adjusting for white space, OnSong uses the width of a specific character to determine width. You can change that character to adjust the amount of whitespace.

Layout Options Adjusting how your song are drawn on the page Detect Chords In Lyrics Turn this setting off to prevent automatic chord detection. Chord Position OnSong places chords above the lyrics. You can change this to inline. Chorus Indent This setting indents the chorus of your song by the amount specified. The section name must be equal to either "Chorus" or "Refrain". Bold Chorus Turn this setting on to bold the text of the detected chorus.

Instrument Settings Personalize OnSong for different instruments Adjust For Capo Turning this setting on will automatically apply the capo if one is set. Display Tablature Turning this setting on will automatically show chord diagrams at the bottom of the chord chart. Tablature Instrument This setting determines the default instrument to use. You can change this per song by viewing chords in the chord inspector and choosing a different instrument.

Instrument Settings Personalize OnSong for different instruments Disable Chord Popovers Tapping on chords on the chord chart will display the chord inspector which contains chord diagrams and variations for a variety of instruments. Turning this setting on will prevent those from appearing. Left Hand Tablature Reverse tablature chord diagrams for left-handed musicians. German Chords Turning this setting on replaces the "B" note with "H" and the "Bb" note with "B" for german users.

Instrument Settings Personalize OnSong for different instruments Use Musical Symbols Some users prefer to see actual sharp and flat symbols instead of the pound (#) and lowercase B (b) symbols. This settings will toggle OnSong to use the real symbols when drawing the page. Enable Alternate Keys Allows access to Nashville Numeric Notation, Roman Numeral or Italian keys on the left side of the transpose slider. Capo Modulates When applying a capo to a song, OnSong modulates or transposes the song down that number of half steps. (up or down)

Instrument Settings Personalize OnSong for different instruments Detect Key By Knowing the key of a song is important for the transposition engine including in OnSong. Normally, a key would be declared using metadata. In the even that a key is not declared, OnSong resorts to determining the key. Originally, OnSong would detect the key using the first chord of a song. This is not always accurate. You can choose other methods such as the last chord, by counting the sharps and flats contained in the song, or by metadata only.

Song Navigation Change how the song menus works with the viewer Remove "The" This setting, if turned on, OnSong will remove the "The" word from in front of song titles when sorting the list. Remove Description Text Removes the second line of information on the songs menu leaving just the title of the song. Flip Toolbar This setting flips the menubar if it is turned on. This places the "Songs" button the right side instead of the left. This is helpful since the songs menu can overlap a good portion of the viewable song.

Song Navigation Change how the song menus works with the viewer Hide Inactive Icons This setting removes extraneous icons from the menubar if they are not in use. Currently, this will remove the external video settings icon when a cable is not attached or AirPlay is not enabled. Auto Show/Hide Menu This setting is used to automatically hide the menubar when not in use. You can then tap the middle of the screen to show the menubar and to bring up the songs menu automatically. Tapping on a song will then hide the menubar again.

Song Navigation Change how the song menus works with the viewer Show Remote Songs Turns off the "Remote" feature in the All Songs/My Sets. Show Scroll Indicators Toggles the built-in scroll indicators on the chord chart viewer. Wide Songs Menu This setting nearly doubles the width of the songs menu. Position Ruler Color Changes the position ruler color when autoscrolling. None, Red, Orange, Green, Blue, Purple, Pink and Grey

Editor Options Change how the song editor works Font Family This is the font to use in the song editor. All fonts in the list are monospaced for easier typing. Andale Mono, Courier, Courier New, Lucida Console Font Size This is the size of the font in the editor. You can increase the font size for better visibility or selection or words or placement of the cursor.

Import Options Changes how importing of documents works Internet Settings This allows you to configure how OnSong imports from the Internet. The settings are contained on another screen and require advanced knowledge of how search engines, web pages and regular expressions work. By default, these settings are blank and use OnSong's built-in Internet search settings. Dropbox Settings This allows you to configure Dropbox options for cases when you have networking issues. For instance, you can turn off SSL encryption which can speed up transfers at the risk of sending your files across the Internet unencrypted.

Import Options Changes how importing of documents works File Encoding OnSong attempts to determine the encoding of imported text files. In some cases you may need to set the encoding manually. Auto, ASCII, UTF-8, UTF-16, UTF-32 or ISO Latin Text File Conversion If set to OnSong, the import process will detect and convert chords into bracketed chords. Default is set to Text Keep File in itunes If you set this option to Off, OnSong will delete files from itunes file sharing after they are imported. Defaults to On.

Import Options Changes how importing of documents works Fallback File Extension OnSong uses the file extension of the file name to determine the type of file that is imported. For some programs, no file extension is used. You can determine the file extension OnSong should use when importing in this option. The default is "xml" since OpenSong files do not typically include file extensions.

Internet Settings Advanced code to find song content Search Parameters Search parameters for the Bing search engine sans the query. Title Pattern Regular expression to extract the song title from <title> Byline Pattern Regular expression to extract the artist name/byline from <title> Content Pattern Regular expression to find the content of the song Chord Pattern Regular expression that identifies chords in lyrics

Synchronization Configure how synchronizing works Sync Folder The name of the folder in which synchronization files are saved. Sync As Files Outputs text-based chords charts as text files, allowing them to be edited remotely and then synchronized back into the database.

Sharing and Rights Adjust how sharing with your team works Expire Shared Sets Allows the set to be removed from the user's list after a time, avoiding clutter and potential distribution of copyrighted works. Loan Shared Songs If turned on, songs shared wirelessly will be loaned. This means they appear in a set, but will not appear in the recipient's all songs list to avoid clutter and illegal distribution issues. Use my songs in OnCue When using OnCue, OnSong sends the song. If this option is on, OnSong will use songs in your library instead of the ones sent.

Song Reporting Turn song reporting on/off for tracking Enable Reporting This controls if reporting is currently active. This is the same as the switch in the Song Reporting screen. Report Use This is used to customize the amount of time that OnSong waits before reporting usage. Show Reports This allows you to determine the period of time for each report. Weekly, Monthly, Quarterly and Yearly

This places what you see on your ipad screen onto the external video device. By default, OnSong will override screen mirroring and take over the external screen. Screen Orientation The screen orientation setting is used when viewing chord charts on an external monitor. The default setting is "Same" which keeps the screen in the same orientation as the device. You can also set this to a specific orientation. This is useful if you have a monitor on stage in the vertical or portrait position and want to maintain that while being free to adjust the orientation of the device. Same, 0º, 90º, 180º or 270º
