2 Chapter 1 What's New in Harmoni, February 2011 This document is an overview of what is new in Harmoni in February For details on all the features in Harmoni, the help system can be accessed from the program by selecting CONTENTS AND INDEX from the HELP menu. You can also click the Help button in any of the option boxes. In This Chapter General, February Graphs, February
3 Chapter 2 General, February 2011 In This Chapter A new look and feel: Tabs & Quick Access Toolbar... 4
4 Chapter 3 A new look and feel: Tabs & Quick Access Toolbar For further details on the new interface, refer to the FOUR online resources, which is available from the Help option in the Application Menu. Tabs Features for each part of Harmoni are now grouped on different tabs, making it easier to find and use more of the Harmoni tools. For example, Home tab (with commonly used features) Advanced features (such as the Show Me options) Appearance (such as table colours) Graphs (simple selection of all graph types) Tools (such as What s Different) Document (such as Copy Page) Information (including Help and Feedback) Another new Tab feature is a contextual tab, which groups the tools most relevant to the type of analysis you are viewing. For example, when viewing a bar graph, tools specific to bar graphs such as Bar Width are grouped together on a Bar Graph tab. As you change your graph type, a new tab, with tools relevant to the new graph will appear.
Chapter 3 What's New in Harmoni, February Quick Access Toolbar The Quick Access Toolbar lets you to put your most commonly used features in one easy-to-access place. The items on the Quick Access Toolbar can be customised by clicking the drop down menu button and selecting the required features.
6 Chapter 4 Graphs, February 2011 In This Chapter Colour Themes... 7 Gaps... 8
7 Chapter 5 Colour Themes A Graph Colour Theme is a set of colours that are used when graphs are displayed. There are two Themes available when you first start using the program; the Default Theme and the Classic Theme. Themes can be selected from a drop box list in the Graph Appearance tab or in the General tab of the Graph Settings dialog (diagram below). New Themes can be created by contacting your program representative. Themes are only available in programs dated October 2010 or later. Theme Colours - Cube Production If you are producing cubes for clients, don t worry! Clients will see the default colours in their application when they open the cubes. The cube version is the same as the last release, so you are able to use this version to produce cubes if the client is using the most recent release of V3. Theme Colours - Power Point Decks If you are creating decks using Send To PowerPoint and you want to use the V3 classic colours, select the Classic Theme in the Graph Settings dialog box. Note that the Send to PowerPoint Template option will continue to use the colours defined in the PowerPoint Template i.e. it doesn t use the colours from the program.
8 Gaps Chapter 6 Gaps in Graphs Gaps in graphs are an alternative to the standard border between segments in graphs. Switching Gaps on replaces the black border between graph segments in Stacked Line graphs and Pie graphs and adds a border between graph segments in all Bar graph types. With Gaps switched on, the background colour will appear in the gaps between graph segments. The Show Gaps button can be found in the Appearance tab while viewing a graph.
Chapter 6 What's New in Harmoni, February The Default Gap Size is set to 1 pixel. The Gap Size can be increased to a maximum of 5 pixels using the Gap Size tumbler found right underneath the Show Gaps button. Shading in Graphs Shading in Graphs applies shading from slightly darker to slightly lighter across the face of each graph segment in all Bar Graph types. Shading gives a pseudo 3-D effect in Bar graphs. Shading is switched on by default. With shading switched off, shading is constant across each Bar graph segment giving a flatter appearance. The Shading button can be found in the Appearance tab while viewing a graph.
10 Chapter 7 What's New in Harmoni, September 2009 The following is a review of the features that were introduced at the September 2009 release of Harmoni. In This Chapter Graphs, September General, September
11 Chapter 8 Graphs, September 2009 In This Chapter Graph Subtitle New Graph Functionality... 13
12 Chapter 9 Graph Subtitle Graphs now have a subtitle. The default graph title and subtitle can be changed by double clicking on them in the graph window. The Graph Title default is the Across axis by the Down axis and the subtitle default shows the database name. Once you have opened the Graph Title or Graph Subtitle dialog you can also easily change the fonts via the FONT button. See the Graph Settings Window topic in the help system for more details.
13 Chapter 10 New Graph Functionality All functionality available in other graphs types is now available in Multi-Axis graphs. See the Multi Axis Graph topic in the help system for more details. Many graph related bugs have now been fixed.
14 Chapter 11 General, September 2009 In This Chapter New Cube Version... 15
15 Chapter 12 New Cube Version The Cube Version has been updated in this release of Harmoni. Therefore, if Cubes or Reports are built in this version of the software or those in the future, it will not be possible to view them in versions prior to this current one you are using. This can be an issue if you are sharing cubes with colleagues who have not yet upgraded to this version of the program. Also note that once you update a Cube or Report built in an earlier version of Harmoni it will no longer be able to be viewed in an older version. As a precaution when updating to a new version of the program, it is a good idea to backup your user created axes (*.axe files) and any Cube or Report files. Your *.axe files are stored in your Personal File Location. To find the location of this, select the FILE LOCATION option from the FILE menu. As usual, any cubes built in older versions of Harmoni can be viewed in newer versions.

See User Interface under the General topic in the What's New help for more details.
20 Chapter 17 General In This Chapter User Interface User Interface Users will notice that some changes have been made to the look and feel of Harmoni. The overall effect is to modernise the look of the program and simplify the user experience. The following changes have been made to the Select screen: The Select screen can now be maximised. Many functions and options have been moved to a new toolbar at the top of the screen. Search facilities are now on the right-hand side. The Help button is now at the far right. The Expand and Collapse All buttons are now positioned to the left. At the right-hand side of the Shrink field there is now a group of three buttons: Folders button: in the same place, but bigger than it was previously. Refresh button: refreshes the item list in the TreeView pane. Stop button: used to terminate the current operation (e.g. populating/refreshing the TreeView pane, performing a long search). The centre divider between the left and right panes is now adjustable. The Run button has been moved to the bottom right. The selection status messages that used to appear at the bottom of the analysis screen now appear at the bottom of the Select screen. Mini toolbars are automatically displayed when the mouse pointer hovers over a selected item. The mini toolbar remains semi-transparent until the mouse pointer is positioned over it. The following changes have been made to the Table/Graph Analysis screen: A new default colour scheme has been implemented for tables. Table selection highlighting has changed to make it easier to see which parts of a table are highlighted and selected. Table cell borders have been changed so that there are now only borders around all Show Mes in a cell. Smoothing has been applied to line, trend, bubble, overlap, web, stacked web, dual axis and multi-axis graphs. Contoured Cumulative Frequency Distribution graph in media plans. Windows system font is now used as the default for tables, graphs and text pages. The Toolbar background colour has changed. Several dialogue boxes have had a cosmetic upgrade. Base Filter labels have been expanded to include axis labels and Boolean operators. The default background colour for graphs has been changed.
