1 Open Cases for ix Developer 1.30 b The following versions of Microsoft operating systems are supported: Using two different versions of ix Developer at the same time is not supported. Moving a project to an ix Panel Pro/PC requires a special procedure: Using a new driver that is not included in the runtime installation requires a special procedure: There is a Windows handles leak in runtime if the PC is running with a COM error and the driver is using a serial interface. The Acrobat Reader component will generate memory leaks when the screen is closed. Opening a second popup screen from a popup screen and using a Close Screen action will close both popup screens. Tag/controller handling: Renaming a tag in the Tags configuration page will not automatically update its name if used for a trend curve. This results in a validation error. Windows XP SP3 Windows Vista 32 bit (no SP, SP1 or SP2) Windows Vista 64 bit (no SP, SP1 or SP2) Windows 7 Use the Transfer to folder function in ix Developer, and choose destination folder, e.g. a memory stick. Paste the generated folder to the ix Panel Pro/PC. Run the project by executing the project.exe file. Copy the driver files to e.g. a USB memory stick. Paste the files to the driver default folder (on the runtime installation PC). Open the Run window from the Windows Start menu and type e.g.: regsvr32 "C:\Program Files (x86)\common Files\Beijers Shared\OPC Drivers\MELSEC_Q- Series_(E71)_Ethernet_Pre2.dll". The path refers to the location of the driver. After a couple of days with COM error, the PC will start to act slowly. Restarting the PC resets the error. Tags need to be updated manually in trend after rename in tag list. Changing poll group name does not work. Changing the data type for "GlobalDataType" will not be updated in the project. The tag import result dialog always states All items were successfully imported even if all tags were not imported. You need to leave the data type field by selecting another field in the grid. 2 Expressions: Expressions in component Library objects are not added to the project. Expressions cannot be replaced when loading/saving library expressions. Copy/paste line and button objects Scaling: There is no option to replace the expression, only to create a new one. When moving a copied button and line, the size of line is changed When applying gain of e.g. 10 to a tag, you can change the value in analog numeric between 1 and 4. The value in the controller remains unchanged, and the analog numeric shows the input value instead of the tag value. Information Designer import issues: Function keys and LEDs are not imported from Information Designer. Objects from Information Designer with sunken and raised frame do not get bevel when imported. Bevel on objects: Bevel is not implemented for ellipse for operator panel targets. Outline does not work when using bevel on rectangle and analog numeric in operator panel targets. Trend: Runtime: Trend Legend does not update if TimeOffset is changed. Dynamic Scale visibility only works on PC target. When using ValueScale dynamics on a trend object (e.g. ValueScaleMaximum) and selecting LinearConverter, the maximum/minimum scale will be zero in runtime. You need to change trend cursor position or move trend legend to update trend legend curve values. Raw conversion works as expected. Key panels: Using ComboBox on the screen. 3 The list should be visible and text selected with Enter. Import/conversion of project: General dynamics does not convert correctly when converting project/importing screens. Objects that are not converted correctly have to be edited manually. Importing a screen with a background screen results in transparent or No fill instead of white fill color. When converting a project from PC to operator panel target, the user is not notified about Database Export target differences. The PC platform supports browsing to export path and pre-defining an export path, and the operator panel target supports exporting to USB or external memory card. There will be incorrect database export paths after a project conversion that needs to be manually corrected. The Database Export Actions need to be manually configured after a conversion. Objects in PC projects contain more dynamic properties compared to operator panel projects. If an object in a PC project contains dynamics that are not supported in operator panel targets, these properties will still be shown in the general dynamics dialog after conversion. Graphic objects: When sizing some objects, e.g. the slider object, small, there may be some graphic drawing errors. The compact styles introduced in ix Developer 1.30 is preferably used in smaller panels. Properties and dynamics are not supported for styled buttons in operator panel targets, but are still visible and configurable in ix Developer. After adding a third party control button in a PC project, the button may become grey and not possible to insert into an operator panel project. The progress bar object is not drawn correctly in ix Panel TA panels. Use the bargraph object to show progress bars PIEN268E Page 3

4 When using multiple selection on a large amount of objects (> 144), some objects may appear not to be selected. Texts with italic font style are cut on operator panel targets. Button: After having configured multiple pictures for a button, it will not be possible to change to single picture, unless all pictures are removed. Component Library: It is not possible to add component pictures from component library if save as default has been used on the object picture. Multiple languages: All objects are selected even though graphical selection is missing. Uncheck autosize and make the text object large enough. All pictures have to be removed. Clear default. If a text with multiple lines is translated to another language, the multiple lines setting will be lost in the translated text. Editing multiple language texts in Excel: In the Excel import dialog, the setting 65001: Unicode (UTF8) must be selected in order to get correct national characters. Chinese input panel does not work in PC/EPC projects. Chinese characters. The default font Tahoma does not support Chinese characters in runtime for operator panel targets. To be able to use Chinese characters, the font must be changed to a font that supports Chinese characters, e.g. MS Song. Chinese characters used for User Name and Password do not work for FTP function. The IP settings dialog is not translated to other languages. Grouped Script Events: MouseDown, MouseEnter, MouseLeave and MouseUp events can be configured but do not work in runtime for PC targets. Screen value update issue. Use actions instead of script events. Values are not updated in a runtime PC if values were changed using a virtual keyboard that is closed with "ESC" PIEN268E Page 4

5 Screen actions set through ribbon action tab will not be trigged in runtime. Scheduler: If the duration is too short, the scheduled action may miss. Daylight saving in runtime: Navigation Manager: TextBox event LostFocus Web Browser runtime Quick Access toolbar issue Recipe Set screen actions via scripting. The action is set in the duration time frame. When using short durations a mismatch may occur. Set the duration longer, e.g. increase from 1 to 10 seconds. After changing daylight saving settings in ix Developer, the operator panel needs to reboot for the changes to take effect. Actual links between screens are not removed from the screens when deleting them in the Navigation Manager. Operator panel runtime: You only get the event if the object has focus and you click on another object. You will not get it when entering a text and pressing enter. PC runtime: The event is fired in all cases. Right click menu: Open in New Window, Print target and Save target as has no function. Popup screens will not open. Clicking on a link which should open a popup screen does not work. Editing the shortcuts of the quick access toolbar does in some cases not work correctly. Runtime termination when loading a recipe with a recipe item not connected to a tag. If you rename an application and directly add a recipe to the application then the database will be stored in the old (original) project folder. This means that no recipes will be available in runtime and if you close/open the application the recipe data will be lost. This problem will not occur if the application is closed/opened before recipes are added. Backlight settings: Copy the generated database from the "original" folder and store it in the new folder. Settings are not saved. Notifier window in runtime Some changes in Show Backlight Settings action in runtime will not be saved after a panel reboot. The notifier window will be displayed on top of dialogs and is not possible to move when a dialog is open PIEN268E Page 5

6 Alarm Distributor: Alarm Distributor related actions do not work if the actions are created before the Alarm Distributor itself. A code page setting has been added to Alarm Distributor in order to support using Unicode characters for alarm distribution via . Distributed AlarmServer: Distributed AlarmServer may distribute more alarms than it should. Alarms: Alarms set to inactive will not be retriggered when a communication error occurs, if alarm condition RisingEdge/FallingEdge is used. Transfer a project via USB to operator panels The default setting is Unicode. Previous versions used code page US-ASCII. MaximumAlarmEventsToDistribute must always be set in accordance with the maximum number of rows that are visible in the AlarmViewer. Views with more rows than MaximumAlarmEventsToDistribute will get out of sync. Use alarm condition EqualTo. No validation of panel type is made when transferring. Converting the same project many times without restarting ix Developer may cause ix Developer to terminate. Security: A screen with a background screen that contains security settings will not show any objects in runtime. OPC tags can be out of sync, will result in no more read or write for that tag Drivers: ix Panel TA projects: Debugging: It is not possible to debug operator panel Make security settings for each screen, not for the background screen. If many ix Panels acting as OPC clients are writing to the same OPC tag at the same time, the tag may become out of sync; which results in that an incorrect value is displayed and reading/writing will not be possible anymore. Other tags in the same controller will still be able to read/write. Restarting the ix Developer application/panel solves the problem. When downgrading the driver to a version without support for the ix Panel TA-models, it is still possible to open the project without any warnings about that the particular driver version is not supported. If the project is downloaded to the panel, the error message Driver not found will be displayed. Change Target Framework in Visual Studio, from.net PIEN268E Page 6
