2 Fig 5 - Type in the New Spec Name. Next choose an "Existing Pipe System". Fig 6 - The Piping System you choose to base this spec on, can be Standard Carbon Steel, ID Piping, OD Piping, Lokring, Stainless, Victaulic. I am basing this spec on Carbon Steel, and I will select CS-Std.acx Fig 7 - Select CS-Std.acx Fig 8 - Next - Click the Open button Page 2 of 14

3 Fig 9 - The spec name is now displayed in the window. Select OK. Fig 10 - Next we need to add the schedules and materials for our drawings. Fig 11 - To begin with, the walls, ratings,materials columns are empty. I do not have all of the Schedules turned on, only the ones I will use for this job. This prevents you from making mistakes, but also keeps the menus from becoming very lengthy. Fig 12 - Click into the box in the Pipewall column. I am clicking into the box next to the 3 inch size, since I will set the maximun SW size to 3 inch for this particular job. Fig 13 - Select M-Sch 80 (.276 wall) from the menu Fig 14 - The Program fills the values in downward. (as it relates to pipe size) That means you do not need to click into each box, only into the box where the changes may occur to the schedules. Next - by clicking into the 24 inch box, I can fill that column down to the SW size I had selected - 3" Page 3 of 14

4 Fig 15 - Click into the box next to 24 inch, and the "wall" menu is displayed. Select G- Std (.375 wall) from the onscreen menu. Fig 16 - My spec will go up to 24 inches. Click on the 30 inch size, then click on "Hide all Larger Sizes" and the larger sizes will not be displayed. Fig 17 - Select the "Hide all larger sizes" from the menu Fig 18 - Next, we will add the Fitting walls to the spec. Remember these are filled from the largest size you select downwards towards the smallest. Page 4 of 14

5 Fig 19 - Select M-Sch 80 (.218 wall) from the menu for Schedule 80, which has a.218 wall thickness. Once again I am beginning with the Socketweld sizes. Fig 20 - Next - moving to the 24 inch. Your Spec,may have other schedules in it. Select the appropriate schedule according to the spec information you are given. Fig 21 - Select G-Std.375 from the onscreen menu Fig 22 - Next select the nipple walls in the SW sizes. Then to the nipples in Buttweld sizes, if they are part of your spec. Page 5 of 14

6 Fig 23 - Default BW End Preps are used more often in the USA than in Canada. Next, select Flange Ratings in the same manner. Fig 24 - After the SW Nipple Walls, we move to the Flange ratings column. Fig 25 - Select the rating for the first range of sizes, by clicking into the largest size, which uses this rating. The form will be filled in, from the larger, down to the smaller. Click into each individual size if you need to change one of the ratings. Fig 26 - Next click into the largest size for the next Flange Rating. Once agin, it will be filled in, from the larger size, downward to the smallest size. Previously filled fields will not be overwritten automatically. Page 6 of 14

7 Fig 27 - Click on the menu item to select the rating. Fig 28 - After selecting Flange Ratings, move to the Flange Faces. These are the defaults. There is an "OffSpec" options menu available at the drawing screen, for ratings, faces and materials for items which are not within the spec. Fig 29 - Moving to the Flange Rating column, select R-RF from the onscreen menu. OR the face type your require in the spec. Fig 30 Page 7 of 14

8 Fig 31 - Next select the face type for the larger sizes. It may not be the same as smaller sizes. It may be the same, in which case you could set all face types by moving directly to the largest size on the column. I select F-FF from the menu Fig 32 - If you find you have made a mistake on any column, click on the column header. Choose "Clear all Flange Faces". Warning: Selecting "Clear All Changes" deletes every item, in every column, entered in this session. Fig 33 - To re-enter the flange faces, select the "Clear all Flange Faces" from the menu Fig 34 - Now we can select new flange faces for the spec. Remember, these are our default flange faces, and you will be able to use the "offspec option" to select other flange faces, right at the drawing screen if needed. Please make sure all of the choices are correct before you begin to draw. Page 8 of 14

9 Fig 35 - The ability to click on any of the column header to change spec information should be used to correct spec entry mistakes. You will likely need additional specs with other information. The program allows you to create new specs based on this one, then use "Edit This spec" to add new information to the newly created spec. Fig 36 - Next we will select the fitting rating for this spec. Fig 37 - Select 3-3,000# or whatever rating is dictated, by the spec information you are given from the menu Fig 38 - Different size ranges can have different fitting ratings. Page 9 of 14

10 Fig 39 - My selection is 6-6,000# fitting rating Fig 40 - Move to the next input section of the spreadsheet like spec entry form, by moving the sliding bar along the bottom of the sheet. This will move the page to the right. Now you can see the rest of the columns/items which need to be filled in. Fig 41 - To return to the previous spec selection columns, move the bar to the left. Fig 42 - Now, we will select the spec info and ratings for olets. Page 10 of 14

11 Fig 43 - These next items are filled in, in the same manner as the previous entries. Once again, the entries are filled in from the larger selections downward to the smaller selections. This makes entry faster, and you will not have to click into each size, unless you need to change one of them. Fig 44 - Select 3-3,000# or another rating from the menu Fig 45 Fig 46 - Socketweld pullback amounts, can be entered to allow for the fraction of an inch difference in the dimentions. The more common selection is 1/16th of an inch, similar to the buttweld weld gap. Fig 47 - I have selected the SW pullback, and have moved on to the Buttweld weld gap column. Fig 48 Page 11 of 14

12 Fig 49 - The Material Group selection is used to determine where machine bevels will begin, and for the pricing of materials, and labor items. (Coming Soon) Fig 50 - Select the A-CS Group 0 from the menu, which indicates Carbon Steel. If your job requires Stainless SteelGroup 8, or Low Temp Group 5, or another choice, select that Group instead. Fig 51 - The next entry column is Buttweld fitting material. Fig 52 - Select E-Carbon St Fittings from the onscreen menu. Many people try to choose CS Pipe Material, by mistake, instead of fitting material. Page 12 of 14

13 Fig 53 - Next select the fitting material from the menu. Once again, remember - if the material you are looking for is not there, maybe you have selected CS Pipe material, instead of CS fittings. Fig 54 - I will need to choose H-A105 from the menu Fig 55 - Generally, None is the correct "Seam Choice" for fittings, although there are some exceptions.
