1 Release Notes - Fixes in Tekla Structures 2016i Previously when using the or component, nominal diameters of reinforcing bars were not working correctly even if you had set the advanced option XS_USE_ONLY_NOMINAL_REBAR_DIAMETER to TRUE. This has now been fixed. Previously, the group had an incorrect spacing type. now creates rebar groups with only one bar correctly., splicing now works correctly when there are hooks in the bar ends., all parts are created as panels instead of beams. Previously, when modifying the geometry of a concrete part with sometimes disappeared. This has now been fixed., the rebars is not created. now creates bar 1 with the correct cover thickness when bar 5 the the remaining edges., there are new options for strand extensions on tab. You can now separately define the setting for the longest edge and, on the tab, when >=, Tekla Structures crashed. This has now been fixed. You can now use the new tool to create a reinforcement mesh for an entire concrete part. The tool works in the same manner as. created with fittings instead of line cuts., when the created part is inside the beam, the head slopes are, setting negative cover thicknesses on the tab now works correctly., when the default part width was not set and only the layer thickness was given instead of a profile, Tekla Structures stopped working. This has now been fixed., it is now possible to use sketched profiles without any parameters. and when the number of stirrups is 1. Task Manager, the button for renaming task types has been removed from the dialog box. You can rename task types directly in the table.

Task Manager When setting sequence numbers from, the numbers are now shown in the correct positions in the model for all object types that can be used in. Task Manager Previously, when you created a selection filter for tasks using the option, reference model objects were not selected. This has now been fixed. Task Manager does not allow you to create more than 255 scenarios anymore. This restriction is based on the limit in the Open API. Task Manager, when creating a new task type in the dialog box, the properties of the selected task type row are now copied to the new task row. Previously, when you had in your model steel parts that cut each other, exporting to CNC sometimes caused an application error. This has now been fixed. cage with code '01'., the standard cage is now exported with code '00' and individual, you can now set the quality of the slabdate using the setting on the tab. When you inserted a reference model from and then used the command in Tekla Structures, you could not insert newer versions of the reference model anymore. This has now been fixed. The conversion of profile plate to contour plate is now working correctly in the SDNF export. Exporting a reference model to Trimble Connector did not work. This has now been fixed.

6 NC export, the web for unsymmetrical I profiles is now correctly in the center in the DSTV file. Previously, Tekla Structures stopped working when contour marking was enabled during the numbering process. This has now been fixed. are now correctly formatted. in UT version 6.1.0, coordinates for special geometry of mountpart The revision number is now shown in Fabtrol/KISS export. Adding reference models/reference assemblies to phases also moves the included subobjects correctly. Now the values in the DSTV blocks have the last decimal rounded up. When converting IFC objects, arbitrary profiles with an asterisk (*) in the profile name were not saved after conversion. This has now been fixed. Most IFC objects of arbitrary shape that are imported from Digital Project can now be converted. you can now set the record on the tab., you can now select the type of SLABDATE weight using the new setting on the tab. The options are and. The was improved. version is fully supported. Export of reinforcement cages When a Tekla Structural Designer.cxl file is imported into Tekla Structures, the model is checked for existing items. If the model is empty, the project properties from the.cxl file will be written into the model's project properties. If the model contains members, the.cxl model data will be ignored leaving existing project properties intact. IFC export overwrote the IFC file although you had clicked the button (x) in the upperright corner of the overwrite confirmation dialog box. This has now been fixed. Previously, when using steel parts that cut each other, exporting to CNC sometimes caused an application error. This has now been fixed. Templates and reports Names of predefined rules in the same. This has now been fixed. dialog box were all the Templates and reports Windows 10, creating a report caused an application error with some models. This has now been fixed. Templates and reports A report template that has a HISTORY content type as a top level content type does not crash Tekla Structures anymore. Templates and reports pull-out pictures in reports, the FontColor value 1 is now correctly black again. Templates and reports MESH objects are now reported when SINGLE_BAR row is in the same report. Sometimes parts in drawings had an extra line. This has now been fixed, and the extra line no longer appears.

7 There were some performance issues in printing. Printing opens the drawing database without opening the drawing editor. Some user interface related callbacks were called when drawing database was opened without opening the drawing editor. This has now been fixed. Sloped sides of triangle walls are now dimensioned correctly. Weld mark placing has been improved, and the weld reference texts are now placed correctly, for example. Application error no longer occurs if a printer is missing or invalid. drawing re-creation, marks were not always created correctly. This has now been fixed. Previously some dwg files that were imported to drawings had some of the texts scaled incorrectly. This has now been fixed. Application error sometimes occurred if you clicked the end point of a selected polyline when splitting it in a drawing. This has now been fixed. Cloning certain drawings is now much faster. The dwg/dxf files added in drawings now support AutoCAD control codes. Idle CPU usage time was reduced in the dialog box. Creating or modifying an assembly drawing with grid dimensions sometimes caused an application error. This has now been fixed. Printing now handles missing or invalid printers and paper sizes in the settings file better. serting text from a text file did not work for.txt files in Windows 8 or 8.1. This has now been fixed. You can now open the dialog box and print drawings in several Tekla Structures versions at the same time. When Tekla Structures creates a section view, it now follows pour view settings defined on drawing level and ignores the view level settings. The view label element list now shows the valid elements only. Now the symbol height change does not move the insertion point. The text frame was too wide when Tekla fonts were used. This has now been fixed. A part in a drawing had an extra line. This has now been fixed, and the line no longer appears. The rebar dimension texts can be dragged again. The check box for the in the properties dialog box now works. Application error sometimes occurred when you opened a drawing that was created in a previous Tekla Structures version. This has now been fixed. some cases hatches in drawings caused memory leaks. This has now been fixed. Filled areas of objects hidden in the drawing were printed incorrectly. This has now been fixed.

8 Dimensioning and re-dimensioning of single-part drawing views included in assembly drawing sometimes failed because the corresponding.adcd properties file was not loaded properly instead of the.wdcd file. This has now been fixed. Text could not be placed upside down even if XS_UPSIDE_DOWN_TEXT_ALLOWED was set to TRUE. This has now been fixed. Drawing was not always updated if there were more than one part and only one of the parts was changed in the model. This has now been fixed and drawings are always updated if any of the parts is modified. When you cloned GA drawings, the log contained lots of warnings of the following kind: "Warning: "FILE 'e3_co_dbase.cpp' LINE 1100: Identifier id is not a part nor assembly". This has now been fixed. The keyplan layout is now placed to the selected location based on the layout options. The order of searching for the unique name settings file in printing has been corrected. The first file found is now used. The dimensioning type for creating dimensions for surface treatment now works also when surface treatment is added to a secondary part. Previously, dimensioning only worked with the main part. Previously some unicode letters in RTF files where not supported, now they are shown correctly. After you had created and deleted several large multi-drawings several times, Tekla Structures did not add any dimensions to new multi-drawings anymore. This has now been fixed. some environments, hatches were not working in all models. This has now been fixed. Some user interface related callbacks were called when drawing database was opened without opening the drawing editor. This caused some performance issues for example to printing, which opens the drawing database without opening the drawing editor. When the element of any mark in the dialog box was changed, the mark check box in the options tree was not automatically selected like it should have, and clicking had no effect. This has now been fixed, the check box and work again. Dragging the drawing text box leader line handle when the word wrapping was activated caused an application error. This has now been fixed. Sometimes, Tekla Structures stopped working if there were pull-out pictures in the drawing and PullOutRepresentation was set to 2 (diameter style) in the rebar_config.inp file. This has now been fixed. An application error sometimes occurred when you created an assembly drawing with singlepart views enabled, and there were a lot of single-part drawing views included, and they did not fit on the sheet. Rebar couplers in rebar pull-out pictures are now printed correctly, when printing to pdf.

9 There was a memory leak in drawings if part face fill was used. Leak was more severe if the advanced option XS_DRAW_HIDDEN_FACES was set to FALSE. When single-part drawing views were created in the assembly drawing, weld marks were only added to the new single-part views and not in the existing views in the assembly drawing. Previously, the printing of some drawings failed causing Tekla Structures to display an error message. This has now been fixed. Tekla Structures did not create dimensions to round holes in an assembly drawing automatically, even if the advanced option XS_CREATE_ROUND_HOLE_DIMENSIONS was set to TRUE. This has now been fixed. Changing something in the panel, such as moving view creation from to, could lead to unwanted removal of section views in the drawing. This has now been fixed. The custom presentation plugin was changed so that the line type and color for the rebar is now read from the environment file rebar_config.inp. The corresponding settings are PullOutColor and PullOutVisibleLineType When printing a drawing to a.pdf file, certain drawings with long text were not drawn completely. This has now been fixed. Weld polygon is again based on the accuracy of parts in model when the weld is inserted. If high accuracy was activated with the advanced option XS_SOLID_USE_HIGHER_ACCURACY by setting it to TRUE, the weld polygon includes profile roundings. If this advanced option is set to FALSE then the weld polygon does not include profile roundings. Previously, some section faces of a part could use different scaling factors and angles when automatic hatch was selected. Now they use the same one. rebar pull-out pictures, all non-normal bending radiuses are shown now unless the rebar is a circle. Previously, some parts in reference models were not visibile in GA drawings even though they were visibile in the model. This has now been fixed. The option was visible for all dimensions, even though it should only have been visible for the curved ones. This has now been fixed. Dragging leader lines from middle points now works better. Previously, the shadow opening symbol was not shown for rectangular openings with a large width-to-height ratio. This now has been fixed. When you select a row in the drawing view filter panel, the current value of the row no longer disappears from the row when you click the row. The orientation of the contour plate works again. Sloped sides of triangle walls are now dimensioned correctly. Reporting the actual length of welds failed in some cases if the advanced option XS_AISC_WELD_MARK was set to TRUE. This has now been fixed. Weld mark handles are now correctly drawn on top of the weld mark.

10 Now the element also shows a value for studs. Sometimes the single part view of a base plate was not created in an assembly drawing with the option. This has now been fixed. Weld mark placing has been improved, and the weld reference texts are now placed correctly, for example. Hardware hatches in drawing shapes, such as polygons, are now drawn correctly behind other objects in drawings. The rebar dimensions have been improved in the following way: You can drag radial and curved rebar dimension tags. You can drag curved radial rebar dimensions backwards. Circular symbols and dotted lines are now properly placed on the dimension line. Curved radial rebar dimension lines are drawn correctly. Previously, some parts of reference models were not drawn correctly in drawing section views. The reference models are now drawn more correctly in section views. When cloning views and using view level property handling, the space between section views and front views sometimes expanded even though the cloned section views had enough space in the original view spacing. This sometimes placed the section views outside the drawing sheet. This has now been fixed. Reinforcing bars created with large radius are now displayed correctly in drawing section views. Reference models are now correctly clipped by the view boundary in drawings. Tekla Model Tekla Model, the cache settings were not read correctly from XS_FIRM if the XS_FIRM path was set in the dialog box, and stored to the model folder options.ini file. This has now been fixed. Tekla Model When detecting changes in Tekla Model, the changes in a packet are now shown properly also when the packet includes files without extensions. Tekla Model Tekla Model, the changes list is now shown correctly. Previously, the columns of the list were collapsed when you opened the list. Tekla Model Tekla Model, read in is now faster than before when there are many local changes in the model. Tekla Model Tekla Model, the only UDA changes are now taken into account when you read in. settings for model objects that contain

11 Tekla Model Tekla Model, locking drawings now works correctly. By locking a drawing before write out, you can prevent other users from editing the drawing. 1. To lock a drawing, open the, select the drawing and click the button. The column in the shows the user who has locked the drawing. 2. Write out to share the drawing lock information. Tekla Model Tekla Model, profile and material files are now shared when sharing is started. Previously, profile and material files were shared during the first write out. The shared material file name does not contain the string anymore. Tekla Model Previously, imported custom with images in the properties dialog stored the images outside the model folder. As a result, the images were not shown in the properties dialog when copied to another model or when sharing a model, and in a multi-user model. This has now been fixed. The images are stored in the model folder. Reinforcement, the shape definitions for circular reinforcing bars were compared in a wrong order. This has now been fixed. Note that this change helps only to arrange the shape definitions when the existing shape definitions are modified or new modifications are added. Reinforcement has been changed so that when the XS_USE_USER_DEFINED_REBAR_LENGTH_AND_WEIGHT advanced option is set to TRUE and the shape is not specified (shape is unknown), the default cutting length along the center line is calculated and set to the length field. Earlier only the weight was given for unknown shapes. Reinforcement Now you cannot detach a reinforcing bar group from a locked object if you have not set XS_ALLOW_REINFORCING_LOCKED_PARTS to TRUE in a.ini file. Modifying surface treatment position now works correctly. Profiles now have their properties visible after they are replaced in the profile catalog. Previously, the properties were not displayed unless you re-opened the model. Weld solids disappeared when selected in the and mode. This has now been fixed. Previously, when you locked an object in and then unlocked the object in the user-defined attributes of the object, you still could not delete the object. This has now been fixed. When creating slabs, user-defined attributes now work correctly. The part start number check box now works properly. Previously, the number was modified even if you had cleared the check box. Previously, surface object GUIDs were deleted when modifying the objects through the Open API interface. This has now been fixed. a multi-user model, when you had a drawing open and tried to open another drawing already opened by another user, Tekla Structures displayed a warning message whether to continue or cancel. When you cancelled, the previously opened drawing was not shown correctly. This has now been fixed. Previously, the check box in the dialog box was always selected even if the plane was not magnetic. Now, the check box is only selected if the plane is magnetic. Sometimes you could not draw lines in the sketch editor view after creating a new model view or shifting the work plane in the model. This has now been fixed.

12 After adding a pour break, both resulting pour objects now have the same pour type. Previously, if the other pour object properties had not been defined in the dialog box, the pour type was not correct for both pour objects. Copied rebars are now correctly assigned to a concrete part. Previously, there was a problem when using the command on reinforcement objects. Previously, Tekla Structures stopped working when you inquired an invalid reinforcing bar. This has now been fixed. Previously, welds were not created correctly when using area selection to select multiple parts. This has now been fixed. The color representation has also been fixed so that the main part and all secondary parts are highlighted properly after weld creation. Previously, when copying a part that had surface treatment, the copied surface treatment became part of the copied cast unit causing the original and the copied cast unit to get different numbers. This does not happen anymore. Perpendicular snapping now works correctly. The rendering of surface objects in now works correctly. Use Shift to show the appropriate rendering option. Previously, when you had converted a multi-user model or a single-user model and opened it in the other mode, Tekla Structures displayed a dialog box for restoring an autosaved model even if the model could not be restored. This has now been fixed. The dialog box for restoring the model is not shown anymore. some cases, pour objects and cast-in-place parts were visible in model views even when the visibility of parts or pours was set off (the check box was not selected in the dialog box). This has now been fixed. Previously, in some cases, moving a rebar group took a long time. This has now been fixed. Rebar groups are moved much faster than before. Surface treatment faces are now presented correctly according to the selected visible and hidden line presentation. Previously, all faces were presented using the hidden line presentation. Previously, when a model created in a previous version was converted to a multi-user model, Tekla Structures crashed. This has now been fixed. Previously, clash check did not show a clash if a bolt went through a part that was not one of the bolted parts. This has now been fixed. Previously, when a user created a new custom component in a multi-user model, another user could not open the properties of the custom component in the same multi-user model session. This has now been fixed. the dialog box, the settings are now saved correctly in the properties file. The corner chamfer type has been removed from polybeams, strip footings, and concrete panels. some cases, pour breaks were not properly updated in the model view of a shared model. This happened because the solid cache was not cleared for the pour objects of the pour break when another user modified the pour break. This has now been fixed. The cache is cleared and the pour breaks are now shown correctly in the model view.

13 mouse wheel zoom, if there were several views open, zoom steps wer bigger in non-active view than in the active view. Previously, when you cut a part with a cast-in-place concrete part, the cast-in-place part cut could not be selected if direct modification was not active. This has now been fixed. When saving a model in the multi-user mode, the model is now autosaved only when the XS_ENABLE_POUR_MANAGEMENT is set to TRUE. Reference object assemblies can now be colored correctly from object representation when using tasks as criteria. stallation Migration Wizard now uses the correct registry path when copying registry settings to Tekla Structures stallation You can again start the Migration Wizard manually from \Tekla Structures\ <version>\nt\bin\applications\tekla\migrations folder without having Tekla Structures open. Core The advanced options XS_FLAT_TOLERANCE and XS_FLAT_THICKNESS_TOLERANCE did not work in Tekla Structures This has now been fixed. Core When numbering rebars, the option in the numbering settings gave a different number for identical rebars. This has now been fixed. Core When using PART_PREFIX and PART_START_NUMBER in XS_REBAR_POSITION_NUMBER_FORMAT_STRING, numbering now works correctly if the rebar father part is created by a component. Core Previously, the same assemblies were incorrectly assigned different numbers when numbering assemblies that included welds with the option in the numbering settings selected. This has now been fixed. Core some rare cases, a set of options with incorrect values were written to the options.ini file in the model folder causing issues in subsequent model use. This has now been fixed. When importing.tsep extensions to Tekla Structures, the dialog box that lists the installed Tekla Structures versions now has the correct instructions to select the versions. the highest hierarchy level., it is now possible to collapse or expand the object group hierarchy from Previously, when you deleted all component objects and component parameters from a custom component, adding new objects to the component and then trying to save it caused Tekla Structures to crash.this does not happen anymore. Now if you delete all objects and parameters from a custom component, Tekla Structures shows a message that you cannot save the component. You can either select to close without saving so that the custom component will remain as it was before you deleted objects and parameters, or you can select to cancel to undo the changes until the component contains at least one of the original component objects. Custom component variable names now work more reliably. Previously, some variable names could cause Tekla Structures to crash. Binding to center planes is now possible even through opaque surfaces. Previously, extension descriptions were not always fully shown in has now been fixed.. This is now shown in the language selected for Tekla Structures.

14 , some objects were sometimes shown multiple times in a group. This has now been fixed so that when you open, it removes the duplicate objects from groups. now displays the Trimble Solutions extension disclaimer when importing extensions which have been digitally signed by Trimble Solutions to the catalog. Previously, when you downloaded Tekla Structures extension package (.tsep) extensions using the Mozilla Firefox browser and selected to the downloaded extension, there was a message that the extension was not valid. This has now been fixed. Tekla Structures extension manager now shows the extension installation time adjusted to the user computer s local time. valid.tsep extensions are now moved out of the installation queue to an invalid installations folder. shows a message about this when you open it the next time., the options to lock and unlock objects are now only available for users with full privileges to lock and unlock objects. Previously, Tekla Structures stopped working if the ComponentCatalogUIModelSettings.xml file was not valid. This has now been fixed. The TSEP system log file has been renamed from <date>_tsep Error Log.txt to <date>_tsep.log where <date> is of the format yyyy-mm-dd. When publishing a group in the catalog, changing the catalog definition file name for the published group caused a file name is not valid error message when the Windows operating system had the folder option enabled. Previously, when opening Tekla Structures extension manager, the TSEP log file showed that there was an error, System.IO.DirectoryNotFoundException. This has now been fixed. The component thumbnail images used in the catalog are now checked for in the DAK_BMPPATH advanced option. If the thumbnail does not have an extension, Tekla Structures will search for a file with the following extensions in this order:.bmp,.png. Previously, Tekla Structures sometimes stopped working when you undocked the catalog from the side pane. This has now been fixed. the catalog, all commands on the menu are now visible when using the search in the catalog. When importing a custom component that contains other custom to the duplicates to the catalog. catalog, these are no longer added as Earlier, the positioning options of custom parts made out of custom parts did not work. This has now been fixed. Importing.uel files to the catalog is now faster than before. Previously, when you made changes to the catalog in the Viewer configuration, data (for example, component references and properties such as tags) was sometimes lost from the ComponentCatalog.xml file. This has now been fixed.
