9 Tabs Navigation When the SMGSPC software is first loaded, it comes up at the Welcome! page. This page also serves as a cover sheet for your printed reports. Here you can enter the company name or other distinguishing information. Navigation throughout the software is done with the Tabs.

10 Tabs Navigation On the SMG Data Tab profile information can be instantly viewed to see of the profile is within specification. Measurements that are within spec are black. Measurements that are above spec are RED and underlined Measurements that are below spec are BLUE and underlined

11 Tabs Navigation On the Spreadsheet Tab, the selection of data runs in the work book are displayed. These runs can be identified using the green user columns. The data runs can be filtered using the data filters at the top of each column. Multiple Filters can be applied to further sort files

12 Tabs Navigation On the Profile Tab a pictorial representation (Profile) of the data run is displayed. Other information about the Profile such as MOLE Status are displayed here. When the Profile Tab is displayed another row of Tabs also appears. From these Tabs within Tabs, specific profile data can be gathered.

13 Tabs Navigation On the Admin Tab, the data to be displayed on the Spreadsheet tab is selected by checking the boxes to the left of each item. SPC (covered in Profiling 301) can also be selected and individual SPC charts selected.

14 Tabs Navigation On the Guide Tab, a handy reference is available for the user. It contains information on how to run the Profiler through the process

15 Tabs Navigation When selected on the Admin Tab, individual SPC or X-Bar R charts appear as their own tabs. (covered in Profiling 301)

17 Where do file names come from? When data is uploaded from the M.O.L.E., the (*.MDM) portion of the data run is automatically assigned a special File Tag number. The first two characters are automatically assigned SM. The next nine characters are the first 15 characters from the User/Computer login name and the remaining six characters are in numerical sequence that can be specified by the user. For example, if the User login name is JSMITH, a File Tag number would be SM_JSMITH_ mdm.

18 What is a workbook? On the Spreadsheet Tab, the contents of the work book can be seen as a list of the data runs in that workbook. To open a new workbook, click on the File, Open Workbook drop down here. Workbooks can be stored on the computer or on a shared network

19 Open Workbook The Open Workbook command enables the user to open existing workbook files. To open a workbook file: 1. On the File menu, select Open Workbook. A list box of workbook files with an extension of (.MPC) files appears. 2. Open Workbook List Box 3. Highlight the desired workbook file to open by clicking. 4. Click the Open command button to open, or Cancel to return to the current worksheet.

20 Where are my files? Workbooks can be stored on the computer or on a shared network To delete a file from the Spreadsheet Tab, Click File, Remove Row. This does not delete the file, but only remove it from the spreadsheet. The file is still available in the directory. As seen here

21 User Fields On the Spreadsheet Tab, User Fields can be filtered by using the column filters. These fields can be edited for the filters required

22 Filtering There are Filters for each parameter label that filter specific data out of runs listing. Filtering more than one column at a time acts as a Logical AND Function. All conditions of all set filters must be met for data row(s) to remain visible.

23 Filtering How to use the Filter function: 1)Click the Filter button to reveal the unique data as populated in that column under that particular parameter label. 2)Select a desired data value to filter, or the two standard filters All and Special. Multiple filters can be used. Select Filter Reset All to reset the filter for that column and view all of the data run rows.

26 Configuring the Software/M.O.L.E. Configuration Wizard This wizard guides a user through the communications setup process so the software and M.O.L.E. can communicate. Communications configuration needs to be done when the software is first installed or PC hardware configurations have changed. To configure communications: 1)Connect the M.O.L.E. to the PC. Refer to Communications Setup for more information. 2)On the M.O.L.E. menu, select Configuration Wizard and the Configuration dialog box appears.

Wizard Step 1 Configuration 1)Click the option button next to a COM port which the PC is set up for RS-232 communications or the Auto command button to have the software automatically find the COM port the M.O.L.E. is connected. 2)Click the option button beside the appropriate M.O.L.E. type that will be used to collect data, Gold with RF, or Gold. The M.O.L.E. type selection will affect access to the RF M.O.L.E. Data command and Receive RF button. It also affects the M.O.L.E. configuration parameters, such as number of channels, battery life estimate and minimum logging interval.

28 Configuring the Software/M.O.L.E. 3)Click the OK command button to use the selection and continue to the M.O.L.E. Settings dialog box.

29 Configuring the Software/M.O.L.E. 4)Type a company, operator, or machine name in the text box. 5)Click the OK command button to store the information in the M.O.L.E. and continue to the Configure M.O.L.E. Hardware dialog box.

30 Configuring the Software/M.O.L.E. The Configure M.O.L.E. Hardware dialog box is where the user can: Select channels to turn on. Recording interval Maximum number of data points Starting delay points Starting trigger points The user can the total time to record programmed and get an estimate of the number of profiles from a fully charged battery. Select Send to send this set-up information to the M.O.L.E.

32 Basic M.O.L.E operation The Guide Tab will walk the user through basic operation of the M.O.L.E. The steps are: Attach the thermocouples. Insert the mole into a ambient temperature protective barrier Momentarily press the Start/Stop Button to start recording. The LED will blink at the recording interval speed. Run the assembly and profiler through the process. Uni-Barrier with Yellow Jacket

33 Basic M.O.L.E operation The steps are (continued): Retrieve the assembly and profiler from the process using gloves. Immediately open the protective barrier (careful, it will be hot). Press and hold the Start/Stop Button until the LED stops blinking Remove the M.O.L.E from the barrier and take it to the computer. The profiler and protective barrier will need to return to ambient temperature before the next profile run.

35 Downloading to PC To Download the Data Run to the CPU: Plug the profiler into the serial port of the users computer. Open the SMGSPC Software Select the Read M.O.L.E Data here

36 Downloading to PC The steps are (continued): The software asks the user to select Input sensor type Verify if the user would like to copy existing profile information from the last profile loaded

37 Downloading to PC The software reads the data from the mole and assigns the data run a name. The data run is shown on the Spreadsheet Tab at the top of the list of data runs. Here the user can insert information to the user fields to further identify the data run.

42 Data Table Tabs Inside the Profile Tab on the Value Tab is where temperature by location measurements can be seen. There are 4 slider bars. When these bars are positioned across the profile, the exact temperature of each channel at that point can be see in its field below.

43 Data Table Tabs Inside the Profile Tab on the Time To Reference Tab is where time to achieve temperature measurements can be seen. The area of the profile is highlighted when the time is hovered over on the table below

44 Data Table Tabs Inside the Profile Tab on the T Above Reference Tab is where time spent above preset temperature measurements can be seen. The area of the profile is highlighted when the time is hovered over on the table below.

45 Data Table Tabs Inside the Profile Tab on the Statistics Tab is where various general measurements can be seen. These include Minimum, Maximum, Average, & Standard Deviation. As with other screens, the measurement in question is highlighted on the profile when the number is hovered over with the mouse on the chart at the bottom

The Oven Model must be loaded in order to see these measurements. 51 Data Table Tabs Inside the Profile Tab on the KPI Tab (Key Process Indicator) is where the user can program specific measurements to be seen. To program the data to be seen, click on the KPI SETUP button

52 Data Table Tabs A dialog box will appear Click the desired parameters to display in the Data Table. The parameters are grouped by Temperature, Cursor data with slope between, and Time. The user can also select to display Range, Average and Standard Deviation rows for each of the columns. Click OK to apply these selections

53 View Menu The items to be shown on the Data Table can be selected by clicking on the view menu and either selecting or unselecting them

54 Profile Menu The Profile view can be set up on Profile menu. The items to be set up include: Units Scaling Temperature Ref Lines Oven Configuration Zone Matrix Calculate h-factor
