3 Preface 0 About this manual This manual is the introduction of Qsan QWrap software and it aims to help users know the operations of the software easily. Information contained in this manual has been reviewed for accuracy. For any update information, please visit and your contact windows. 6 Overview 1 QWrap Overview This user manual describes how to set up and use the Qsan QWrap. It s a firmware customization tool and highly portable software. Software Contents QWrap is a java based program. To execute this program, JRE (Java Runtime Environment) is required. Please install JRE 5.0 or above version. You can visit the following websites to download and install JRE. Support Products QWrap supports the following firmware of Qsan products. AegisSAN Q500-F20 / F21 / F30 / P10 / P20 Series: FW and later. AegisSAN V100-F20 / P10 / P20 Series: FW and later. AegisSAN LX F600Q / F630Q / P400Q / P600Q Series: FW and later. TrioNAS U110 / U120 FW and later. TrioNAS U210 / U220 / U221 / U300 FW and later. TrioNAS LX U400Q / U600Q Series FW and later. 6

7 Operation 2 Main Page This section describes the main page of QWrap. After JRE (Java Runtime Environment) is installed, run the QWrap.jar program. The main page will be displayed. Function Icon Options Operation Area The following describes the function icon options: Load: Load firmware. It can be SAN firmware or Unified Storage firmware. Build: After customization, click it to build the customized firmware. Preview: After customization, click it to preview the web UI changes. About: About QWrap. Exit: Exit QWrap. 7

8 Customization SAN Firmware 1. Click Load from the function icon options. 2. Select a SAN firmware from the dialog box. We take AegisSAN Q500-P20 as an example. This table shows the row descriptions. Row Name Time Zone Vendor ID Company Name Product ID Description Default time zone. Click drop-down list, select one for the default. This is required feature for the Vendor Identification in SCSI specification. Host operating system may use this for various purposes, e.g., Device Drivers, MPIO*, VSS*, and etc. Please contact your sales for more details. Valid chars: [a-za-z0-9-&] Length limit: 1-8 bytes Up to 8 characters (no spaces, no underline allowed). If it's less than 8 characters, space will be appended to the tail to make it exact 8 characters. This item will be shown in the Console UI. Valid chars: [a-za-z0-9-& ] Length limit: 1-16 bytes Up to 16 characters (including spaces & marks). This is required feature for the Vendor Identification in SCSI specification. Valid chars: [a-za-z0-9-] Length limit: 1-16 bytes Up to 16 characters (no spaces, no underline allowed). If it's less than 16 characters, space will be appended to the tail to make it exact 16 characters. This item will be shown on the GUI and Console UI. Valid chars: [a-za-z0-9-] Length limit: 1-16 bytes Up to 16 characters. Product Name follows Windows computer naming rule. If the length is less than or equal to 9 characters, we will append '-' and 6 characters MAC address; otherwise the length is more than 9 characters, we will append nothing. This item will be displayed on LCM. Invalid chars: [ \] Length limit: 0-30 bytes Up to 30 characters (including spaces & marks). Default password. Valid chars: [a-za-z0-9] Length limit: 1-12 bytes Up to 12 characters (only alphabet and 0~9) Background color options. Click drop-down list, select one for the default color. The options are red, blue, orange, silver and green colors. This item will be displayed on the top of the Web UI. Invalid chars: [ \] Length limit: 0-64 bytes "$PRODUCT" will be replaced with 'Product name' value Up to 64 characters (including spaces & marks), Use variable $PRODUCT will be replaced with Product Name value. Enterprise number. It will be used in SNMP. Please input a valid number. You can refer the following link. Valid chars: [0-9.] If your company doesn t have, please apply an OID from IANA. This will be used as part of the ID for iscsi discovery. Valid chars: [a-za-z0-9-.] Must not begin or end with the symbol "-" (hyphen) Length limit: 1-32 bytes Up to 32 characters (cannot have space). This will be used as part of the ID for iscsi discovery. Valid chars: [0-9-] Format: yyyy-mm 3. Click next tab, Network Setting. It sets the management port IP by DHCP or Static IP. Default value is DHCP, if your system doesn't have LCM installed, Static IP is preferred. 9

10 4. Click next tab, Image Setting. It sets the display image in Web UI. Logo (Company Logo): GIF file, dimension 220 x 80 pixels. Welcome (Product Photo): JPG file, dimension 491 x 380 pixels. 10

11 5. Click Preview from the function icon options to preview the result. 6. If everything goes fine, click Build from the function icon options and input the filename. Finally, it will build the customized firmware. 11

12 Unified Storage Firmware 1. Click Load from the function icon options. 2. Select a Unified Storage (NAS) firmware from the dialog box. We take TrioNAS U300 as an example. This is required feature for the Vendor Identification in SCSI specification. 16 5. Click Preview from the function icon options to preview the result. You can preview Login Page or Configuration Page. 16

17 6. If everything goes fine, click Build from the function icon options and input the filename. Finally, it will build the customized firmware. 17
