2 LAB Change History: These changes are based on LabCorp Recertification Requirement. 1. Splitting Logic - Lab orders will be divided pursuant to the test orders. 2. Specimen - Body site requirement that is based on the order code. 3. Courtesy Copy - It is used to send or fax the result copy to the patient. Path: Patient Hub>>Lab Mgmt>>Lab Order [Need to Select Patient First] After clicking on Lab Order, the screen below will appear. 1. Select the name of Lab Company from the drop-down menu. There are a number of labs from which to select, listed below, and depending on the client: A. Lab Corp B. AEL C. Athro D. Quest E. Labgen F. Mercy G. US Lab H. Lab USA 2. Enter the first two characters of the test order name and suggestions will populate. N> = Search order by number i.e. N>01013 P> = Search Patient Favorite Test Order. 2
3 C> = Search Client Favorite Test Order. GR> Search group name 3. Select the Test Order by clicking on the checkbox. Note: display code which are added in favorite list 4. Click on + to add the specific test order as selected from the checkbox. 5. Click on the Favorite button and it will allow you to add the test order as Patient Favorite and Client Favorite or, to create numerous orders. Patient Favorite or Client Favorite A. Search and select by Test Name. B. Search and select by Test Code. C. Click on AddToPatFav or AddToClientFav in which you need to add the Test Order. New [Favorite Group] A. Add Group name. B. Click on Add Favorite Group to add specific group. Existing [Favorite Group] A. Search and select by Test Name. B. Search and select by Test Code. C. Select Favorite Group name from Existing List. D. Click on AddToPatFav or AddToClientFav in which you need to add that group. Search You can search for the client or patient favorite test order and click on Search. 3
4 ICD 1. Select ICD to enter the ICD. 2. This checkbox is used to populate the ICD from the master l-ist. 3. Enter the first three characters of the ICD and suggestions will populate. 4. It is used to add the diagnosis for the patient. If diagnoses codes are added for the patient, then it will be displayed in the grid below. 1. Select the checkbox. 2. Click on + to add the ICD. After adding the test order and ICD code, you will be able to see this data in the grid as shown above. Below are three mandatory fields, and other necessary details in the remaining fields can also be entered 4
5 1. Enter the Order Date. 2. Enter the Collection Date. 3. Select the billing information as Client, Patient or Third Party Insurance from the drop-down menu. 4. Click on Save button and you will receive the lab order in the grid below. Once the lab order is selected, by clicking on the checkbox, then particular functions can be selected as provided in the list below. If a lab order has any information missing, it will then be displayed as Missing Data as shown below. 1. Specimen After clicking on the Specimen button, you will be able to add the specimen pursuant to the test order. There are two types of specimens as follows :- 1. Pathology report Shown below is an example of the order. 5
6 A. Select the Order from the drop-down menu. B. Select the Body Site from the drop-down menu. C. Search for the Descriptor and select from the suggestions. D. Enter the Description. E. This will provide for you suggestions for the specimen, based on the order selected. F. Click on Save to save the specimen. 2. Gram Stain/Body Fluid Culture Shown below is an example of the order. A. Select the Order from the drop-down menu. B. Enter the specimen type or click on the checkbox. C. Enter the Description. D. This will provide for you suggestions for the specimen based on the order selected. E. Click on Save to save the specimen. 2. Advance Order Entry This is required for specific test orders. After clicking on AOE button, the screen below will appear. Based on the order selected, relevant AOE screens will be opened, sometimes in multiple tabs. 6
7 Send In order to send any lab order, you must first select the lab order by checking on the desired box. Following this, click on Send to send the lab order. Print There are two ways for printing the lab order 1. Click on the Order Control No. and then click on Print. 7
8 2. Click on Pending button to print the lab order. Lab Order PDF The lab order will contain the barcode and extended barcode, as shown in the PDF below. 8
9 Result PDF The Result PDF will be modified as per the LC standard. Add On Call This is used to add a test order after the lab order is sent. Select the lab order and then click on the AddonCall button. Complete all of the mandatory information and click on Save to save the details. Note: Maximum 9 test order can be added in No Of Test#. Cancel Order The lab order can only be cancelled before the result is received. Select the lab order and click on Cancel Ord. to cancel the Lab Order. 9
10 1. Enter the reason for the cancellation. 2. Click on Save to cancel the lab order. Courtesy Copy Courtesy copy is used to send or fax the result copy to the patient. Select the lab order and click on Courtesy Copy to add courtesy copy details for that specific lab order. 1. Select the type as Account Number, Fax Number or Patient. 2. Add additional text in Text. 3. Enter the additional text in Attention Line. 4. Click on Save to save the courtesy copy details. 5. Click on Cancel to cancel the courtesy copy. Print You can print the lab order two ways: 1. Select the lab order by clicking on the checkbox and then click on Print to print the lab order. 2. Click on Pending from the quick access bar and the lab order can be printed. Split Order The order will be automatically divided, based on LabCorp recertification. 10
11 Orders will be divided based on conditions specified by LabCorp and according to the test type. If multiple test orders are selected for the same lab order then it will be divided accordingly: Lab Order Search Lab order search is used to search the lab already created for any patient. Path: Patient Hub>>Lab Mgmt>>Lab Order Search After clicking on lab order search, the screen below will appear. 1. Select the lab company from the dropdown menu. 2. Search and select for the name of the patient. Note: The patient selected in the session will automatically be displayed in this search box. 3. Select from date. 4. Select to date. 5. Select the provider. 6. Enter the control number. 7. Enter test name. 8. Select the transaction status if needed. 9. Click on Search to search for the above selected filters. 10. Click on Reset to clear the data from the grid. 11. Click on Export To Excel to export all of the data to Excel. 12. All of the details related to the filters will be displayed in the grid below. 11
