1 Before you begin Standalone Installation Instructions for GastroPlus v9.5 In order to install GastroPlus, you must have Administrative privileges. During the GastroPlus installation process, a file named SLP_HOSTID_Info.txt will be created on your desktop. This file will need to be ed to licensing@simulations-plus.com to provide the information required to create your license. Installation If you were provided with an individual download, the downloaded file will be a compressed zip file. Extract this file to a convenient location such as your desktop. The files created from extracting the downloaded file should be similar to the example below. To begin the installation, double click on the setup.exe file. Page1

2 When the installation program (setup.exe) is started, the installation menu will be displayed. Click on the GastroPlus 9.0 button. GastroPlus requires that several items are already installed on your system. These items will be installed as needed. Click on Install, and the required items will be installed. There is no input required during the installation of these items. The status will change to Succeeded as each item completes. The GastroPlus installation wizard will begin. Click on Next to begin the installation. The license agreement will be displayed. Select Yes if you agree to the licensing terms, and continue the installation. Page2

3 Now select the setup type. Select Standalone Installation. Click Next to continue. Select the Acquire HostID for Licensing option. A message will appear confirming that a HOSTID file was created on your desktop. the SLP_HOSTID_Info.txt file to: licensing@simulations-plus.com This file is required to create your license file Click OK. The Flexera License Sever Installation dialog will be displayed if needed. Select Install Flexera License Server. The license server installation will begin. Page3

4 First, the installation Introduction screen will display. Click Next to continue. Now you will be presented with an option to select the installation folder. Unless there is a specific need to change the location, the default locations is recommended. Click Next. If needed, you can import existing licensing data. This can usually be skipped Leave the default settings and click Next. The installer has the information needed to begin installing files. Click the Install button to continue. The license server requires the C Redistributable Package be installed. This package was installed with the other prerequisites. You do not need to install it now. Leave this option unchecked. Page4

5 The HTTP Port configuration options will now appear. For most installations, the default values are sufficient. Now the Service Configuration options will be displayed. Check the Runs as a service option. Click Next Check the Start server now option and click Next. The installer will attempt to start the licensing server. When the server starts, a browser window will open. You should see FlexNet Publisher in the top left corner. If a browser window did not open, the server may need to be started manually. A one-time reboot of your system will usually solve this. The server will start each time your machine boots up. Click on Done to complete the license server install. The GastroPlus installaltion will now begin. Page5

6 Select the installation directory for GastroPlus. Unless you have a specific need to install in a different directory, the default location is recommended. The installation has the information it needs to continue. Click Install to install GastroPlus on your machine. A progress bar will be displayed while GastroPlus installs the required files and components. When the installation is complete, the Finished dialog will be displayed. Click on Finish to complete the installation. GastroPlus is now installed on your machine. Page6

7 THE FOLLOWING STEPS ARE TO BE PERFORMED ONLY AFTER YOU HAVE IMPORTED THE LICENSE FILE PROVIDED TO YOU FROM SIMULATIONS PLUS, INC. Double click on the GastroPlus icon to launch GastroPlus. The FLEXnet License Finder dialog will be displayed the first time you run GastroPlus. Select the Specify the License Server System option. You will be asked to enter the name of the License Server. Enter the information below: localhost Click Next to continue. The FLEXnet License Finder dialog should display the completed dialog. Click on Finish. GastroPlus will now run.
