3 3 1 KDR Panel Installation into a NewCo Arm This section describes the installation of the KDR panel in a NewCo Arm. 1.1 Panel Installation 1. Remove covers on the KDR interface unit. 3. Disconnect the Cat 5 cable from the Ethernet hub (Figure 1.3). Note: See the KDR System/KDR System2 Operation Manual for detailed drawings and safety information. 2. Disconnect the panel IF cable from the KDR interface unit (CN1 on connection board) (Figure 1.2). 4 4 4. Remove covers on the panel enclosure. Note: For detailed drawings and safety information on the positioner, see the SU Installation, Service & Operational Manual. 7. Remove cable hose for ease of running panel IF and AEC cables. Note: AEC is an optional feature and may not be present on all units. 5. Rotate U-arm to 30 to access column for cable routing. 5 5 9. Remove the panel mounting bracket. 11. Replace the cable hose. 12. Replace rear cover on lower arm. 13. Replace covers on the panel enclosure. 14. Reconnect the Cat 5 cable to the Ethernet hub. 15. Reconnect the panel IF cable to the KDR interface unit (CN1 on the connection board). Figure 1. 8 Panel mounting plate 10. Run the panel IF cable and AEC cables through the enclosure yoke, into the hose, and all the way to the KDR interface AEC board. Note: AEC is an optional feature and may not be present on all units. 6 6 17. Mount the panel and bracket into the enclosure. Align the bracket with the center holes. (Figures 1.11 and 1.12) WARNING: Do not mount the handle switch board until after panel registration has been completed and verified. If the panel is not registered, you will need to access the panel cable during registration. 18. Verify panel registration. Use the KONICA MINOLTA AeroSDK Setting Tool to verify ID numbers. See section for details Note: If panel registration has not been completed by KMMI before shipment, continue to Section Panel registration. Figure Bracket moved to center position 19. After registration has been completed and verified, mount the handle switch board back into place. 20. Mount the AEC chamber into the brackets. Note: After panel installation, the bracket near the panel IF cable connection will no longer line up with mounting plate holes. Figure Bracket moved to center position

8 8 2 Panel Configuration and Registration This section describes the configuration of the KDR panel in software. Before you begin Before starting panel setup, verify the network settings for the onboard card. The following configuration applies to or later with KDR Panel and driver Set the following addresses: IPV4 address: Subnet mask: Open Network Connections. 2. Right click on the onboard network card and select Properties. 3. Click to highlight Internet Protocol Version 4 (TPC/IPv4) and select Properties. 9 9 2.1 Configuring the KDR panel 1. In, select the Device Configuration tab. 2. Under the Configuration Pool section, select Default, then select KDR (Figure 2.3). 3. Under the device settings, use the following configuration values: Field Value Maven Aero, 32 Bit, #1 Exposure Index Determined during installation (Default is 1000) Edge Crop Default value, 0 AEC Display Default value, 0 Global Orientation Default value, 0 Image Processing Default value, 0 X-Ray Integrated Synchronization XG-IF Box ID 1 Exposure Time Panel Registration Before you begin You will need to have the device identity list available (Figure 2.4), which is provided in the IF cable packaging. The device identity list includes information such as the serial number and the Sub device ID of the IF cable, UF cable, and chargers. 10 Panel registration 1. Launch. 2. Click on Options. 3. On the Device Configuration tab, under Device Identity section, enter the Panel serial number (Figure 2.6). You can find this number located on the back of the panel. 4. Click Manual Registration to launch the Konica Minolta Aero SDK Setting Tool (Figure 2.7). The KONICA MINOLTA AeroSDK Setting Tool is used to register all devices in conjunction with the KDR Panel. The IF Cable, Panel, and XG-IF Box registration must be completed before use. 11 11 5. Click Add IF Cable. (Figure 2.8) 9. On the KONICA MINOLTA AeroSDK Setting Tool main screen, click Add Panel (Figure 2.10). Figure 2. 8 AeroSDK Setting Tool IF Cable Registration The Konica Minolta AeroSDK Setting Tool: IF Cable Registration screen is displayed. 6. Verify that In my Room is selected. In the IF Cable ID field, enter the 16 digit Sub device ID located on the Device Identity list in the IF cable packaging (Figure 2.9, item 2). 8. Click OK (Figure 2.9, item 3). The KONICA MINOLTA AeroSDK Setting Tool main screen becomes active. Figure AeroSDK Setting Tool - Add Panel 10. Enter the panel serial number located on the back of the panel. (Figure 2.11, item 1). 11. Ensure that G1+/G2 is selected for the Generation of panel you are using (Figure 2.11, item 2). 12. Keep the default Wired LAN, Wireless LAN IP and Subnet Mask settings as listed in Figure 2.11, items 3, 4, 5, and 6.

12 Click Ok. The following window is displayed (Figure 2.12). At this time disconnect and reconnect the IF cable on the panel side. 2. Click OK to start the installation. 3. After installation is complete, click OK. You are returned to the KONICA MINOLTA AeroSDK Setting Tool main screen. 4. Click AddXG-IFBox. (Figure 2.15) Figure Communication cable message 14. After the panel connections are reestablished, the Panel Install window is displayed, requiring you to insert the Konica Minolta KDR CD located in the panel packaging (Figure 2.13). Select the Browse To option (Highlighted in yellow) and navigate to the CD/DVD drive. Figure AeroSDK Setting Tool - Add XG- IFBOX 6. Enter 1 as the XG-IFBOX ID (Figure 2.16, item 1). 7. Click OK. 8. Click Exit to exit the AeroSDK Setting Tool. 9. In, on the Device Configuration Panel, click Apply > OK. Figure 2. 14

13 Verify successful panel configuration 1. Launch. 2. Select a test patient. 3. Click Acquire to open the acquisition screen and verify panel status in the upper left corner. The status transitions from Changing Power Modes to Connected (Figure 2.17). 2.3 KDR Panel Calibration Before you begin 1. Remove the grid. 2. Adjust the SID to 72 inches. 3. Ensure that the collimator light is at least 1 Inch past the edges of the detector for full coverage. 4. Verify that nothing is in the X-Ray field KDR panel calibration 1. To begin calibration, exit and return to the desktop. Figure Panel status in Acquire The status, Connected, indicates that the panel is configured correctly. IMPORTANT: Keep the Panel CD in a safe place. The CD is needed to install DR panel if there should be PC hardware or software catastrophic failure. 2. Browse to C:\Program Files (x86)\sedecal TechService and double click on TechService.exe. 3. Select Manual Calibration. 4. Select WS1 to configure workstation 1 (Bucky 1). 5. Select Go to User Mode. 6. Navigate to C:\opal\plugins32\Aero. 7. Double-click the file, AerosdkGainCalibrationSeq_Triggered.exe. A command line window, Aero SDK Library Sample Program, is displayed.
