4 1 Unable to Get Server Address 1 Unable to Get Server Address Causes Remedies Unable to get the VNNOX server address when binding asynchronous players of the VNNOX. The Taurus is not connected to the Internet. Step 1 Check to see if the Internet connection indicator is always on or flashes. As shown in Figure 1-1, The T6 of the Taurus series is taken as an example. Yes. Please contact NovaStar. No. Go to Step 2. 5 1 Unable to Get Server Address Status Flashes once every 2 seconds. The T6 is connected to the VNNOX and the connection is available. Step 2 Check to see if the external router is connected. ViPlex Handy: Select Network Settings > Wi-Fi Setting in the Screen management page. ViPlex Express: Select Screen Control > Network configuration. Yes. Please contact NovaStar. No. Go to Step 3. Step 3 Check to see if the Taurus has 4G module. Yes. Go to Step 4. No. Connect the Taurus to the Internet via Ethernet cable or external router. Step 4 Check to see if mobile data is connected. ViPlex Handy: Select Network Settings > Mobile Data Setting in the Screen Management page. ViPlex Express: Select Screen Control > Network configuration. Yes. Please contact NovaStar. 6 2 Wrong Authentication Information 2 Wrong Authentication Information Causes Remedies Authentication information is wrong when binding asynchronous players of the VNNOX. The authentication information is incorrect. Step 1 Visit and click Login at the top right of the page. Step 2 Select a server node and click Ok. Step 3 Enter your account name and password, then click Login. Step 4 Select Organization Management > System Management in the pop-up menu of at the top right of the page. Step 5 Select the Player Authentication tab and view the correct authentication information. 3

7 3 No Available Players 3 No Available Players Causes Remedies No available players are found when binding asynchronous players of the VNNOX. No asynchronous players are created on the VNNOX. All the asynchronous players have been bound to other terminals. Step 1 Visit and click Login at the top right of the page. Step 2 Select a server node and click Ok. Step 3 Enter your account name and password, then click Login. Step 4 Select Players Management > Players in the pop-up menu of the page. Step 5 Click New. Step 6 Select asynchronous player and click Next. at the top right of Step 7 Enter a name for the player, associate a license with the player and set the distribution type, then click Ok. 4

8 4 Unable to Play Solutions 4 Unable to Play Solutions Causes Remedies The Taurus doesn t play solutions and the LED display shows a black screen. For terminals that support both synchronous mode and asynchronous mode, HDMI signal is not available while in synchronous mode. Screen off. Screen brightness is 0%. The time of the Taurus is incorrect. If the solution is distributed by VNNOX, the possible causes may also include: Terminal players haven t downloaded the solution. There are no relevant schedules in the solution when the solution is being played. There are no valid media items in the solution when the solution is being played. Step 1 Check to see if the model of the Taurus supports both synchronous mode and asynchronous mode. Yes. Go to Step 2. No. Go to Step 3. Step 2 Check the Taurus to see if the HDMI signal is available while in synchronous mode. HDMI input interface is shown in Figure 4-1. ViPlex Handy: Select Video Control in the Screen management page. ViPlex Express: Select Screen Control > Video source. Yes. Go to Step 3. No. Make sure the HDMI signal is available or switch to asynchronous mode. No further action is required. 5

ViPlex Handy: Select Screen Settings > Screen status control in the Screen management page. ViPlex Express: Select Screen Control > Screen status control. Yes. Switch on the screen, and no further action is required. No. Go to Step 4. Step 4 Check to see if the screen brightness is 0%. ViPlex Handy: Select Screen Settings > Brightness Control in the Screen management page. ViPlex Express: Select Screen Control > Brightness adjustment. Yes. Set a proper value for the screen brightness, and no further action is required. No. Go to Step 5. Step 5 Check to see if the time of the Taurus is correct. ViPlex Handy: Select Monitoring > Time Parameter in the Screen management page. ViPlex Express: Select Screen Control > Monitor. Yes. Go to Step 6. No. Set rules for correcting time, and no further action is required. Step 6 Check to see if the solution is distributed by the VNNOX. Yes. Go to Step 7. No. Please contact NovaStar. Step 7 Check the update status of the solution. 1. Visit and click Login at the top right of the page. 6

10 4 Unable to Play Solutions 2. Select a server node and click Ok. 3. Enter your account name and password, then click Login. 4. Select Players Management > Players in the pop-up menu of at the top right of the page. 5. Check to see if the solution has been updated. Yes. Go to Step 8. No. No further action is required. Step 8 Check the schedules in the solution. 1. Select Media Management > Solution in the pop-up menu of at the top right of the page. 2. Click the solution name to enter the attribute page. 3. Check to see if there are relevant schedules in the solution when the solution is being played. Yes. Go to Step 9. No. Modify the schedules or create schedules. No further action is required. Step 9 Check the validity of all the media items in the solution. 1. Double click the schedule, and the Edit dialog box appears. 2. Select the Playlist tab, and click a playlist name and click Yes to enter the Media Item tab of the playlist attribute page. 3. View the Detail column and check to see if there are media items the play time of which is within the valid date range. Yes. Please contact NovaStar. No. Check the rest of the schedules in the solution. If there are no valid media items in the solution, no further action will be required. 7

11 5 Unable to Play One of the Media Items in a Solution 5 Unable to Play One of the Media Items in a Solution Causes Remedies One of the media items in a solution cannot be played. The format of the media is not supported. The play time is beyond the valid date range of the media item. Step 1 Check to see if the format of the media is one of the formats supported by Taurus. Yes. Go to Step 2. No. Add a media item that meets the format requirement, and no further action is required. Step 2 Check to see if the solution is distributed by the VNNOX. Yes. Go to Step 3. No. Please contact NovaStar. Step 3 Check the validity of the media item. 1. Visit and click Login at the top right of the page. 2. Select a server node and click Ok. 3. Enter your account name and password, then click Login. 4. Select Media Management > Media in the pop-up menu of at the top right of the page. 5. Select the target media and click Attribute. 6. Check to see if the play time is within the valid date range of the media item. Yes. Please contact NovaStar. No. Modify the valid start and end dates of the media. No further action is required. 8

12 6 Unable to Play Synchronously 6 Unable to Play Synchronously Causes Remedies Unable to play the same content on multiple screens synchronously. Synchronous playing is not enabled. The time zones of multiple Taurus products are different. The time of multiple Taurus products is not synchronized. Step 1 Check to see if synchronous playing is enabled. ViPlex Handy: Select Advanced Settings > Advanced Function in the Screen management page. ViPlex Express: Select Screen Control > Play management. Yes. Go to Step 2. No. Enable synchronous playing, and no further action is required. Step 2 Check to see if the time zones of all the Taurus products are the same. ViPlex Handy: Select Quick Control in the Screen management page. ViPlex Express: Select Screen Control > Time synchronization management. Yes. Go to Step 3. No. Set the same time zone for all the Taurus products requiring synchronous playing. No further action is required. Step 3 Check to see if the rules for correcting time have been set for the Taurus. ViPlex Handy: Select Advanced Settings > Time Synchronization in the Screen management page. ViPlex Express: Select Screen Control > Time synchronization management. VNNOX: Select Players Management > Time Synchronization in the pop-up menu of at the top right of the page. Yes. Go to Step 4. No. Set NTP or RF time synchronization. No further action is required. Step 4 Check to see if the time synchronization type is RF. 9

Step 5 Check to see if the connection between the RF device and the Taurus is normal and the relevant configurations are proper. As shown in Figure 6-1, install the RF device on the T6 of the Taurus series. ViPlex Handy: Select Advanced Settings > Time Synchronization in the Screen management page. ViPlex Express: Select Screen Control > Time synchronization management. VNNOX: Select Players Management > Time Synchronization in the pop-up menu of at the top right of the page. Yes. 14 7 Unstable Wi-Fi AP Connection 7 Unstable Wi-Fi AP Connection Causes Remedies The mobile device frequently joins other Wi-Fi APs after connecting to the Wi-Fi AP of Taurus. The signals of other Wi-Fi APs are stronger. Other Wi-Fi APs are connected to the Internet. Step 1 Disconnect the mobile device from other Wi-Fi APs. Step 2 On the mobile device, choose to forget other Wi-Fi APs. 11

N/A Check software versions through any of the following ways: ViPlex Handy Step 1 Start ViPlex Handy. Step 2 Log in to Taurus. Step 3 Click the screen name to enter the Screen management page. Step 4 Select Screen Information. Step 5 Check the versions of Android operating system software, Android application software and child software, and FPGA program of Taurus. ViPlex Express Step 1 Start ViPlex Express. Step 2 Select Screen control. Step 3 Select Screen information. Step 4 Check the versions of Android operating system software, Android application software and child software, and FPGA program of Taurus. VNNOX Step 1 Visit and click Login at the top right of the page. Step 2 Select a server node and click Ok. Step 3 Enter your account name and password, and then click Login. 12

N/A Upgrade the software of Taurus through any of the following ways: ViPlex Handy Step 1 Make sure that the upgrade package is saved on the mobile device. Step 2 Start ViPlex Handy. Step 3 Log in to Taurus. Step 4 Click the screen name to enter the Screen management page. Step 5 Select Advanced Settings > Upgrade. Terminal software upgrade: Display the upgrade package information of Android application software. Terminal system upgrade: Display the upgrade package information of Android operating system software and FPGA program. Step 6 Click Upgrade next to the upgrade package information. ViPlex Express Step 1 Make sure the upgrade package is saved on the PC. Step 2 Start ViPlex Express. Step 3 Select Screen control. Step 4 Select Screen upgrade. Step 5 Click Screen software and select the upgrade package path. Screen software: Upgrade Android application software and FPGA program. 14

Step 7 After the Android application software is upgraded, click Screen system and select the upgrade package path. Step 8 In the terminal information list, select one or more terminals and click Upgrade. VNNOX Step 1 Visit and click Login at the top right of the page. Step 2 Select a server node and click Ok. Step 3 Enter your account name and password, and then click Login. Step 4 Select Players Management > Players in the pop-up menu of the page. Step 5 Perform any of the following operations to upgrade terminal software. Select the target player and click Real-time control. at the top right of Software upgrade: Upgrade Android application software and FPGA program. System upgrade: Upgrade Android operating system software. In the Version column of the player list, click the Please upgrade link to upgrade corresponding terminal software.
